Ok, super divey place but it’s all about the food. I ordered the Philly Chicken Cheese sandwich with 2 stuffed jalapeños instead of fries for a late lunch. Food came pretty quick. Jalapeños were pretty good, fried crispy but not greasy. Chicken cheesesteak was excellent. It’s almost a foot long but thin, chicken nicely cooked with just the right amount of cheese to keep it all moist. There’s a couple of pepperoncinis in there which is different but delicious. If you have a bigger appetite you can get fries but just this was the right amount of lunch for me. I’ll definitely be back — it’s not too far from my Galleria office.

After seeing a few string of good reviews, I had high hopes for this place. Whenever, I can find places within minutes of my office I get excited to hopefully find a new addition to my lunch rotation. This place is located in a small strip center with lots of parking. When you enter, you are greeted right away. They have a simple menu on the board behind the register. I got one of the Philly cheese steak combos that came with a drink and fries. The sandwich came out in a few minutes and it’s smaller than I hoped. The bread was a bit chewy and the meat was a little salty. I wish it was a bit more packed with meat. Overall, it was a solid meal, especially for the price. Will I come back? Maybe to try the burger, but Papa Geno’s has my heart when it comes to cheese steaks.

I came across Rachel B.‘s review of this place and had to try it out for myself. the gold standard of cheesesteaks has been established by Papa Geno’s and I was hoping that the cheesteak here would blow PG;‘s out of the water. This wasn’t the case. Hold up! read on. Now don’t get me wrong, the cheesesteak was still really good. But in my opinion, Papa Geno’s is better since they offer more variety(the Fat Philly for example). However, for the price that Sandwich King is asking for its cheesesteak($ 5.19 with tax) easily makes me want to come here more often. Well, except for when I’m craving a Fat Philly. For comparison purpose, the regular cheesesteak at Papa Geno’s is $ 8 + tax. The daily special for when I was here was for a hamburger, fries, and drink all for $ 5!!! Seriously, that’s cheap for a full meal. You better believe that I’ll be getting one of those daily specials in the near future. The lady that was taking the order was super nice. As Rachel B. has mentioned, I did catch a glimpse of one of her kids playing in the restaurant. But no worries, the kid wasn’t being rowdy or anything. Will I be back? You bet your heinie I will!

«Ermahgerdddd» That’s all that can be heard when it’s Sandwich King day in my office. Just mumbles and the crumpling of an empty sandwich wrapper after the 3 minutes it takes us to inhale ANYTHING we get from Sandwich King. Two words. Philly Cheesesteak. Three more words. Get it now. The diner is hidden on the stretch of Longpoint past Silber. You will miss it is you aren’t keeping an eye out for the faded sign and tiny parking lot. I go there quite frequently, so by now it’s second nature pulling into this parking lot, even when I wasn’t originally intending to go there. This is a family run business and they are cooking up some of the most addicting. you guessed it. Philly cheesesteaks on this side of the loop. My co-workers also salivate over their burgers. The beauty of this establishment is it is no frills, no pretentious price tag, and no snotty teenager manning the counter. You are greeted with a smile by the same woman who is always there(maybe even the little eyes poking over the counter of one of her children) and are given just plain and pure good food. The Philly all the way is how I get down at Sandwich King and the cheesy, melty, meaty sandwich can immediately shut me up minus a few murmers of delight. The exterior and interior leave something to be desired but don’t let it detur you. This is a staple for lunch at our office and with a price that is as/less expensive as fast food, why the heck aren’t you stopping here for lunch? For those who didn’t know what«Ermahgerdddd» meant before now, you have been informed.

I have been here plenty of times and also bring co-workers! Great Philly cheesesteak and plenty of other Orion’s here. My co worker left here saying«you know it is good(philly cheesesteak) when it sticks to the wrap.» Great spot!

From Chicago on business and happened to pass this place by luck. All I have to say is the service is awesome and the food even better! I had the grilled chicken with feta and the house dressing and it really hit the spot. Would recommend to anybody in the area!

Sandwich king is family owned and has recently been taken over by one of the owners sons and his wife, it’s a little of the beaten path but worth stopping in. So happy the family is keeping it open. So if you want a good sandwich or great burger this is the place.

I love this place! It’s my go to for a yummy lunch. The grilled chicken sandwich with feta is my absolute favorite. I crave it at least once a week. I’ve had the burgers, salads, and tuna sandwiches as well. All equally delicious. The restaurant is family owned and everyone is always very friendly!

Been eating here since I was a kid. In addition to the cheesesteaks, there are a few specialty sandwiches they have made for me in the past which is a plus. Definitely the real deal here, real chicken and steak in their sandwiches… not the precooked stuff you might see in other places. Fresh is king here!

I’m not sure who crowned these guys – but all hail royalty! I hear it all the time, «you’ve got to try this Philly Cheesesteak!» and then I leave disgruntled. Lied to time and time again, butt alas – I am vindicated in my search. No whiz on this philly, but it makes it all the more impressive because I still think it kicks more ass than a donkey. I’m pretty fond of Cheese Whiz too. When my sandwich first came out, I sneered at it, but then found myself entranced with how melty the cheese looked as I unwrapped Sandwich King’s beautiful creation. It was just as good as it looked – juicy, flavorful and no skimping on the cheese. I do wish the bread were stepped up a bit, but still – it’s the best H-town has sandwich-wise. You can also get the cheese steak on Lebanese bread, or as they call it, «Steak in a Sack.» My sister and I were thoroughly amused with this name. She had a roast beef hoagie. It’s not that sliced purple mystery meat you get at the store either. This is well cooked and prepared roast beef – hot out the kitchen! So exciting! So delicious! The interior of this place is packed full of local regulars at lunch hour. Not much to look at. My sister said it feels like a hotel conference room, but I think it’s more like someone would imagine a jury holding chamber looks like. The walls are strange. It’s as if there was artwork or some sign of life at some point, but then it was covered with white paint. Like maybe they used to run Bolier Room scams here before it was a sandwich shop. Whatever the case may be – the Sandwich King rocks!
