Not sure I’ve Unilocaled Saltgrass; but after last night. it’s a must. I know it’s a chain and their menu never changes; but, they are capable of putting out a wonderful product. Hub always gets the T-Bone.I’m hooked on the prime rib… delish. I love the team aspecit of their service; but I have to say, a big draw for us is Ashley… she is wonderful… as long as she’s there… we’ll be there!

We just left here without eating. We sat down and was approached by a waiter and in the middle of his greet another waiter interrupted him to inform him that we were his table. So this new waiter greeted us and took our drink order. We ordered waters to give us a little bit of time to go over the drink menu. So we decided on drinks… then decided on what we wanted for dinner… but no waiter to be found. At this point it had been 10 minutes and we still had not received our waters. We finally see our waiter serving food to the table next to ours and we flag him down(still no waters). We asked him what happened… at this point, we are very irritated. His response? He blamed the other waiter who he took the table from saying that he was supposed get our waters. He then proceeds to ask if we were going to order… really? We don’t even have our drinks yet! At this point we were ready to leave. We asked him to get a manager and we waited. A manager didn’t come but he came back about 5 minutes later with waters. I almost laughed! We asked him again for a manager but while waiting, we decided to leave instead of wasting any more of our night. What a horrible experience. We went to Eddie V’s instead where we received incredible service and food.

My husband and I don’t dine out often, but when we do Salt Grass is always on the top of our list for places to go! The service is always impeccable. Never once have we gone in there and not had 5 star service. And the food-always great! Again never went there and didn’t have a delicious meal. I always order a steak and it never disappoints. The bread and butter is also amazing, salad is always very tasty and fresh. Well worth the money!

Out Christmas shopping and smelled something good around 3:30pm on a Saturday. Can order off of lunch menu until 4. Recommend lunch menu. Same food saves ya 5 to 10 bucks on meal. Alone, sat at the bar. Servers very friendly and didn’t have to wait. Potato soup was very good. Order 6oz steak medium with fried shrimp and garlic mash. Everything came out hot and cooked to perfection. Will go back again.

The food and service is great. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because the entrees came out before we had time to finish the salad. Way too fast. We felt like they were trying to rush us out. I don’t like to have to scarf down my food!

So ever since I moved to Houston 5 years ago… I’ve been madly in love with Saltgrass bread. It is the best bread I’ve ever had in my life! No joke! Just so you’re aware, I could literally go there and just have bread as an entrée because it is just that good. The rest of the menu is great as well — I love Pat’s ribeye and that’s generally all that I order. Their salad dressing is delicious and I often order the sweet potato fries for my daughter who loves those as well. I have ventured into other entrees on occasion but I always go back to the ribeye because it’s always good and cooked exactly how I like it. The service is always good although I have occasionally been served by a newbie who messes up my order a bit but they are always very quick to fix mistakes.

Staff is very friendly and will frequently come to your table to make sure you are happy with what you have. I ordered a Hill Country Sausage and Chicken and it was amazing. My only problem was the location I was seated at. It was in the middle and I kept having to scoot my chair for people to pass by because my table was so close to the others which got annoying. Other than that, my experience was good.

As much as I love Saltgrass’ food the prices are so high. I work in the same parking lot and it is $ 8 after tax for a tiny little cup of soup. I used to really enjoy some chicken tortilla soup for my break but it just isn’t worth that much for the little but of soup they give you. Other than that they have great food, great bloody Mary’s and good service I would definitely reccomend.

Long wait but it was Saturday night. Very friendly waitress, Meghan. Ordered a bottle of wine but got a glass. Soup cold. Filet was perfectly cooked but the bacon wrap combined with the blue cheese AND bacon topping was too salty. Just blue cheese would be fine. Also rude hostess or server slammed down a stack of menus on the table next to us, I guess as a storage place because there they sit still at the end of our meal, and now some plates have joined them(tacky) — very disruptive. Overall pleased but some wrinkles for this restaurant to work out.

I’m giving 3 stars based pretty much on the service… Our server was very gentile buy the service was slow. The salad/soup came before our drinks, which were beers and soft drinks only. The lunch special is priced right and the portion is a satisfactory size.

RANGERATTLERS– jumbo jalapenos stuffed with whole shrimp & jack cheese, fried to a golden brown These range rattlers are so good. I love the spice from the jalapenos with the creaminess from the cheese and the savory shrimp. I always get a dish of this every time I visit. SALMONOSCAR– fresh-cut north atlantic salmon filet topped with jumbo lump crabmeat, lemon butter & lightly fried asparagus spears The salmon was a bit overcooked for my liking and it was bland. It wasn’t seasoned well and the garlic mashed potatoes for my side was soggy and the consistency was odd. I prefer my asparagus grilled because when i got it fried it came out really oily and unappetizing. Overall experience: Phil G. was an amazing server. He was attentive and very friendly. The only thing lacking is flavor in my salmon oscar dish«/

I so wanted to give this a higher rating. Our primary server was charming, informative, and attentive. Unfortunately, my rare filet was served with hooves(read: bluer than blue rare), they botched our side orders, and the mac and cheese was rough. They did take my steak-sushi back and re-fire it, and it was really good. But the fact that it was(and I DIGMESOMERARESTEAK) truly raw made it hard to give it four stars, given that it’s a steakhouse. Add to that the mistakes on the order and the meh mac, and I can’t give it more than 3. I wish I knew our server’s name, he made it a great dining experience regardless…

Went here expecting the highest quality service. I was very disappointed. The beer took way too long to come out(10 min). We ordered an appetizer that came out at about the same time as the main course. They just gave it to us for free because it took so long. The manager was screaming at everyone kitchen right next to us and it was very tense and annoying. I ordered a medium rare steak, with mashed potatoes. The presentation was horrible it looked like they just slapped the steak on a plate and shoved it in front of me. The steak was cooked well done so I had to send it back. That took another 15 minutes. The 2nd steak was better so that is why I am giving two stars. The prices were way to expensive for the poor quality. $ 25 for my sub par steak that I could have easily made a better one on my George Foreman at home. Would not recommend to a friend. Uodate: I had tipped about 15% due to horrible service. Looking at my bank statement now and they added an extra 10%! This is literally the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Back to 1 star. Avoid at all costs.

I was dining alone tonight, always had good experiences with Saltgrass. Walked in and went to the host stand, there were two ladies in front of me talking to the hostess. I heard the hostess tell the ladies, it will be about 20 minutes and handed them a pager. Just about that time Megan, the host manager, came up hugged one of the ladies and they spoke for a minute. The ladies joined the rest of the 15 – 20 people that were waiting for tables. As I was getting my pager, and being told my wait would be about 20 minutes also, Megan told the hostess to cross off the name of the ladies that were in front of me, she was going to seat them now. The hostess crossed off the name above mine and they were seated. I had to wait about 15 minutes because I don’t know anyone that works there. I thought this was extremely unfair to the rest of the people on the waiting list. I got seated and looked over the menu. Decided on the cheeseburger. When my waitress came to take my drink order I went ahead and ordered my meal. After I ordered I went to the rest room, when I returned there was a family of four seated at my table. The hostess who had just sat me at this table was seating them, she made them get up and found them another table. My burger came with out the bacon I had ordered so I had to ask a manager to please bring it because my waitress was MIA. She took my order and brought the check, those were the only times I saw her. If I am ever on the side of town again, I don’t think I will return to this location.

I’m not a loyal customer of Saltgrass. I’ve been a couple times waaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day to the Meyerland location but honestly I’ve never been all that impressed. But my dad rang me up and asked to meet him for a late lunch and we chose here. Seated immediately and drink orders placed at a moderately decent time. We were a bit indecisive with the menu but the waiter was fake patient and I appreciated that. I went with Pat’s ribeye medium rare with garlic mashed potatoes and my dad chose the steak & shrimp combo. The app bread & salad were pretty good while I waited on my entrée. The bathroom looked a bit old and in need of attention when I went to wash my hands. Not too bad though, probably that lunch rush. Well our food finally arrived, however it was served only one degree above room temperature. I normally don’t send food back but really, I wasn’t about to eat cold food. My dad said he was too hungry to wait. Our waiter kinda disappeared and another guy saw my disgust and offered assistance. The mgr came over to apologize as well. It was reheated and looked fresher. It wasn’t the best steak but I can’t complain. I love the butter served on top but the steak needed some spice. Definitely had to use the A1. BTW here’s the reason I don’t let servers box my food, especially away from me. The same nice server that saw my disgust earlier basically dropped a table’s food right off the plate and it landed onto the serving tray instead of the box. He then used his less than clean hands to immediately pick the food up and put it in the box. Yes, the same hands that takes away dirty plates, handles the bill holder, cc and cash. smh

Moo! Gotta love your cattle, and I’m one of those people that knows a good tasting cut of beef, for I often serve it at home. Some things(like ribs) I just can’t do myself, so a trip to Saltgrass was warranted. That’s what we came for, and truthfully, that’s what is earning this place the majority of its stars, along with the treatment of the little tykes that need a straw and a lid on their drinks. Five adults and a toddler is an interesting bevy to serve, but Saltgrass did a marvelous job with taking the quick and immediate order for my toddler grandson and getting his food out rather quickly. Loved that they put a lid on his milk glass with the straw — talk about stepping up and preventing spills. Kudos! Drink orders were taken along with the dinner orders for the rest of us. We arrived a bit early in the evening, knowing that eventually Saltgrass would get crowded, so they was not packed and bustling when we were seated. Drinks. .. eventually arrived. As did our food. Service wasn’t snappy, but it wasn’t totally lackluster, either. The ribs that were ordered were definitely a hit. Texas Rattlers(stuffed jalapenos) proved to me to be mildly captivating, and I’m a jalapeño freak. The jalapeño pepper itself was crisp, but not as piquant as expected. Baked potato soup was hearty and quite filling, and when combined with the salad was WAAY too much for me to eat(half of the salad was left uneaten, as it was about the size of Mount Vesuvius when it arrived). The Texas Cheesesteak Sandwich was decent; my husband grumbled about it being overly salty later in the evening, though, and commented that he’d likely never order it again. Bar drinks, as usual, racked up the tab. A frozen margo was $ 6.75, and although it was flavorful, it was nothing to whistle about nor was I tempted to order another. The frozen Texas Tea is $ 8.50. Add to that a few other drinks and a beer or two and — rack it up! A tad difficult to flag down our waitress when it was time to leave, and then again when I had my credit card ready to pay. I did tip her nicely because she took good care of the little one at the table, which was really my most primary concern. Bottom line: I’m thinking I need to learn how to smoke ribs. I’ve got the steak thing down(because no one in our party even thought of ordering a steak of any sort); but for these prices, I need to whip up my own drinks and smoke my own ribs and we could have a real party for a fraction of the cost. For I, too, have cups with lids!

I love steak and this place serves steak at an excellent level. Some people find Salt Grass mediocre, but I love the savory taste of their juicy steaks. You have many options to select toppings for your steaks and make them taste five times better. Everything is cooked to perfection and I can enjoy it with friends and family. Take a look at the photos if you don’t believe me! They are part of the Landry’s Select Club, I’ll advise to join if you haven’t. They don’t take money from you. The $ 25 can be used towards an entrée and they give you $ 25 for your birthday! I was able to get a free dinner for both my mom and I using their card service.

Had another delicious steak at Saltgrass. This time we sat at the bar instead of waiting 30 minutes for a table. Spinach salad, delish. Fried zucchini and mushrooms were very good, especially dipped in Saltgrass’ own recipe of ranch dressing. The big moment of the night was the cake. I ordered a slice of chocolate cake, which should have come with a warning label. This thing was HUGE. As I said, we were sitting at the bar, and as it was being delivered, all eyes were following the cake to see who ordered it. I had no idea it would be so big. It easily is big and rich and dense enough for four people. The words used to describe this piece of cake were: horrifying, appalling, gross, unnecessary, unreal… it is just so absolutely gigantic that it is served on a platter, not a plate. Well, see for yourself. I ate just a little, gave half to my friend, took the other half home and after having yet another piece, still had some left over. It was great though. :-)
