My first stay at a Marriott hotel Residence Inn. My first impression was when I called to see if my room was ready before 12:00 a.m. and was told YES!!! THat almost never happens. Usually hotels will say the rooms won’t be ready until after 2:00 p.m. We were greeted promptly as we entered. The desk attendant made us feel comfortable by explaining all the amenities. Everyone was professional and friendly. The room was extremely clean. They had dishes, silverware, pets and pans in the kitchen. The fridge has a ice maker. The provide a coffee pot with the coffee and creamers, teabags, and even a bag of Popcorn! Don’t forget the complimentary breakfast! Everything is so fresh. All kinds of cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, pastries, bread, oatmeal, nuts, syrups, juices, jelly, butter,… And a Waffle machine to make it fresh yourself. They also make fresh from the kitchen scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sasauge, pancakes… SOOMUCHTOCHOOSEFROM. I’m sure I didn’t name it all, but this hotel is definitely worth every dollar you spend.

I honestly hate to do this kind of review. And to some degree I am being somewhat generous with the 2 stars I have alotted today. My review is SPECIFICALLY regarding how the loss of property is being handled. Overall the hotel is very nice. The evening staff was very kind to me during my recent 3 week stay at the property. But here are my Cons: — 2nd day I stayed there and returned to my room after work, and some shipping boxes I had received were thrown away. I started hiding the boxes but I apparently failed on this attempt. — I received several packages from then on out that I had shipped to myself at the hotel. Some of them came directly to the Residence Inn but some came later than expected and ended up being delivered to my previous hotel during this stay. — During my stay I probably received about 300 dollars worth of merchandise that I planned to ship back to myself in Las Vegas to avoid extra suitcase weight fees. The Thursday before the Friday I was to check out, I noticed that a stack of boxes, next to a very important stack of receipts, was gone. Unfortunately, I had stashed away about $ 160 worth of essential oils I had been using for stress reduction, sleep, and other ailments in an aromatherapy diffuser box. I had all the instructions and such in there so I wouldnt forget how to use the thing. I called the front desk Thursday when I returned to my room after work to begin packing as I couldnt find the boxes anywhere. Who knows how long they have been gone(my bad cause I tend to leave the room looking like a bomb went off). When I went back to the desk on friday after work, after checkout they said they would forward my concern to the general manager. I dont believe in all my attempts I have spoken to her yet. I have been told the Housekeeping supervisor has been brought into the loop but she doesnt remember anything before my checkout on friday. Honestly I should have received a call this AM as Texas is 2 hours ahead of me. I had to call them and even as of today, they dont even recall my issue at this point. I have offered to send my receipt validating my claim that the aoils are valued at $ 160 but no one will take my email. I ended up getting the run around from folks today acting like I had never called with this issue. Therefore making me wonder where that nice paper went with my contact information. Is this the norm? Things come up missing from your room and you are left to just suck it up? I would think that if this is the norm, people would never stay in hotels. Because how would you ever know if your things are safe from being tossed. I am totally not saying they were stolen. I am pretty sure they were accidentally discarded. But at the end of the day I guess that Im just under the impression that the housekeeper changes me sheets, gives me fresh towels even though I hung my towel on the rack, and they wash my dishes every 2 – 3 days. The rest of the stuff in there is me… and it should not be disrupted. I hope I hear something more positive soon.

Ample parking, a seamless check-in process, excellent customer service, spacious suites, and pretty good breakfast choices. That is how I would sum up my experience with the Residence inn Houston located within the Energy Corridor. I’ve yet to have a bad experience within a Residence Inn, and this location is no exception. Yet this location does have a slight difference from some of the others. For one, it is located in an area filled with restaurants and cafes that are in walking distance, as well as a good-sized shopping mall that is in reasonable driving distance(1 – 2 miles) after crossing Westheimer. It makes a difference when you are this close to shopping areas so that you can easily go to a SuperTarget or other grocery venue to obtain food items that you can prepare in your suite. I did not have this option while staying at the Omni, which is located 2 miles in the other direction while on the same street and just beyond the I-10 overpass. Another thing that you’ll notice is that this location has a roving security guard after a certain time(11PM, I think) that is well appreciated. Although this Residence Inn is in a very good part of the Energy Corridor(in my opinion), having a roving security guard yields to a great piece of mind while traveling on the road. All & all, this is location is highly preferred, and one that I intend on returning to once again next time I’m in Houston.

I stayed here for months. It is very close to my site location and the staff is incredibly accommodating. Michelle is the guest service lady I can always depend on. It is walking distance to a bunch of foods, cleaners, and one mile drive from cvs and Kroger. The gym is decent. But you must be creative with your workouts. It is a hotel, what do you expect? This place was my home away from home.
