Worst check-in experience I have ever had. That says a lot since I travel frequently and have for the last 25 years. I arrived to the hotel at 11pm or so. The gentleman at the front desk explained that the hotel was doing a system upgrade and that he could not check me in while the system was unavailable to him. Long story short, the front desk showed no empathy over the fact that I was made to wait one and a half hours to be checked in. He even went so far as to infer that it was my problem for not coming to check in earlier in the day. What? Finally, and probably only because I called the service that booked the travel arrangements to complain, did he take it upon himself to manually check available rooms to ultimately check me in. Apart from lack of professionalism and customer service, the hotel is obviously poorly managed. it seems as though the hotel could have better prepared for the system upgrade by making sure rooms were available for the guests that had not arrived prior to the time the upgrade began.

I can’t remember if this is the EXACT hotel I stayed at, but I agree with you all, TERRIBLE hotel. The doors were squeaky and barley closed. The bed comforter just felt unsanitary. My family and I went to breakfast in the morning, and as we passed the conference room, I heard very loud arguing and cussing. Never again will I stay here.

There should be the availability of putting no stars for this so called«quality» inn, I’m a frequent flyer due to my work and I’m always staying in different hotels but this place has to be the worst place I’ve ever stayed in. I had to move from the original room due to bugs, dirty bed covers, broken toilet seat, and so many other issues. After moving to a different room that had similar issues they refused to refund my card, after speaking with American Express I got my money back but learned an important lesson, do not stay here!!!

Don’t ever stay here. Just DON’T. My usual hotel was overbooked for the Final Four in March/April, so I decided to stay here for one night, since it was pretty close to where I usually am. Check-in was pretty slow, and the lobby was really dark and uninviting. When I got to my room, there were a couple of things flying around. I was sort of okay with that(I had already prepared myself to sleep in layers and layers of clothing). I went to the phone to call the front desk to ask about the internet… and that’s when I saw a tiny roach crawl out from behind the phone. Yeah, there was no way I was staying. That night, I drove somewhere else and slept in the car instead of sleeping in my actual room. Worst. Hotel. EVER.

With my recent trip to Houston for the NCAA Final Four, I learned quite a few things. One of the main things I learned was that it is probably better to pay a little more money for better lodging when you are on vacation. I booked Quality Inn & Suites through an Expedia package that included round trip airfare, 4 nights in the hotel, and a rental car for the duration of the trip. It was all pretty darn cheap. I don’t know the breakdown but I think this place ended up being less than $ 70/night. But in retrospect, I probably should have sprung for better accommodations. Pros: Price — As mentioned earlier, this place was pretty cheap Room — I don’t have crazy high standards for a room, so I was okay with the king-bed room I was given. There was even a small balcony(no furniture out there though). The a/c kept the place completely cool and did a good job. Water pressure was decent. I didn’t see any major dirt, stains, or nastiness. I also liked that there was both a small fridge and a microwave. Free Breakfast — Food was decent enough. There’s eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, coffee, OJ, apple juice. Nothing special, but fine. Friendly — The desk workers were professional and friendly. Noise — I didn’t hear a peep during my duration. Either the walls were thick enough, or there weren’t many people staying there(my guess is the latter). Cons: Internet — The wireless internet did not work until the very last night of my stay. This was a big annoyance. Business Center — The business center consists of one computer and a printer. At least the internet works on that computer though! Frequently the computer was in use when I wanted it(probably because everybody else couldn’t get the wireless to work either). Pillows — Small stains on the pillowcases, if you looked hard enough. Not bad enough to gross me out though. Fitness center — Tiny room with one treadmill, one bike, and one little weight machine. Location — Right off the highway. Loud. Laundry — The one washing machine was broken so there was no way to do laundry. There is a Laundromat a couple miles down the street if you want to drive though. Shower head — I am six foot three, and I think you needed to be under five foot nine in order for the showerhead to work well for you. I hate having to do squats to wash my hair. Pool — Although I DID see a couple of kids swimming one day, the pool was small and pretty dirty. Lots of bugs were floating around and there was, yes, a roach in there too. Ice Machine — The ice machine was broken and I didn’t realize there was a second ice machine in a different location until the last day of my stay. Would I consider going back? Nah, I’m sure there are plenty of other hotels that have a better location and better rooms. You’ll have to pay more, but it would definitely be worth it.

My friend and I stayed here a night during a brief trip to Houston. As college students, we wanted to stay where the price was lowest in a designated area, and Quality Inn & Suites gave us the best deal. The hotel wasn’t great but, considering what we paid, we were satisfied. The room was clean, and we didn’t experience the horrific service described by the other two Unilocalers. On the contrary, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast is included, though the selection is scant. But hey, it was free, and again, for the price we paid we were happy. We’ll be staying here again during our next trip.

I too was not pleased by the service and treatment our group received — though they display a plaque in the lobby. The issue with the lock was very frustrating to hear, that because the attendant has never had to call for security in the past 2 years, that the lock really doesn’t need to be repaired. And then in the end, he’s the one who shows up to repair it. I’m sure a complaint is on file.

The head manager’s name is Sam and he was extremely belligerent and rude. Incident #1 We reserved 10 rooms he was willing to give us the conference room for a $ 25 flat fee for the entire night just to cover the A/C cost. however, when we got there he changed his agreement with us and wanted us to pay $ 150 and tried to tell me that we had agreed for only one hour which is the biggest lie. Incident #2 The conference room lightbulbs were either out or flickering which we told him about and he agreed to send a technician by 7:45pm since our official meeting was starting at 8pm. They were slow to come so we had to initiate a solution by asking the front desk lady for the long fluorescent tubes so we could replace them ourselves. We actually needed 8 tubes, but had to settle with 5 since that’s all they had. Oh, and the technician never came. Incident # 3 The door of one of our rooms did not close completely, nor did it lock. When we brought up the issue, Sam proceeded to tell us that there has not been any crime at his hotel in 2 years as a way of trying to comfort us with that tidbit. When we pressed him to give us a new room he said all the rooms had been booked, even though I saw at least 5 rooms that were vacant that night as well as the next morning. Only after a long conversation did he finally agree to send a repair man later at around 9pm. Turns out he was the repair man. Incident #4 One of my group member’s door card key did not work so he brought it up with Sam who told him that it was his cellphone that demagnetized the card key which was totally bogus. Sam told him to try again but to no avail which prompted Sam to say, «I told you not to put the card next to your cell phone», even though my friend had not done so. Incident #5 All Quality Inn hotels have free continental breakfast and this particular one served from 7am-10am. By 9am almost all the food was gone and was not replenished for half of our group to eat. Incident #6 Some of our women went swimming in the morning and he yelled at them twice to keep the noise level down, threatening to call the police on us before even trying to ask in a calm, collective way. I have never experienced customer service this bad in my entire life. Please stay away for your own good.
