Pupusas Y Antojitos Julia

Let me just begin by saying I would never recommend this place! Especially if you have kids! The movie they were showing on the tv was super inappropriate. It had a very wild sex scene and I felt bad bc this kid was at the table next to us around 6 or 7 years old and he was watching it and his mom was like omg! It made the experience there akward. Then the food came. The only pupusa that was good was the chorizo one. There was a hair in my fruit drink and I’ve had ensalada de fruta before but this one was terrible. I asked the lady to please change it so I just got water. The water was ok. Ice cubes were too. My neighbor sells pupusas and hers are way better and cheaper! If u want pupusas I’d say don’t go here. Sorry but I rate this place a 1 star. My husband says he would rate it zero stars if he could.

Pupusas are decently good but it seems like they water down the condiments including the tomato salsa, the beans and most definitely the cream for the platanos fritos. It just slid right off my spoon like water. Not to mention how greasy the platanos were. I give it a 3 out of 5 only for the decent pupusas

I really like this place and the fact that it’s a very genuine (and delicious) salvadorian restaurant near Cypress. Driving to Spring Branch to get the good stuff doesn’t seem worth it anymore with all the traffic.
Only things I have ever gotten from here are obviously the pupusas, as well as Caldo de Res, or beef soup.
They have flour made out of rice and regular flour, and both styles accommodate whatever ingredients you want in your pupusas — the rice flour is less greasy. Their salsa and Curtido is good too and they always give you at least 2 baggies of each with your order (if it’s take out).
I am picky about my food and have only liked my Caldo homemade, other places just can’t get it right, Mexican chain restaurants included in that statement as well (pointing at you, Los Cucos!)
I loved the soup here, it tastes the very same way my grandma makes it and they also give you a side of rice and handmade tortillas with it. The broth is amazing! And the meat is tender, there’s not one piece too fatty or bone-​y in your soup, which is the best and most important part of this soup aside from the broth.
I recommend this place to locals! They have live entertainment on Saturdays. Also, on Wednesdays they have a special on pupusas: 2 for the price of 1. We bought 8 and got 16 for cheap!!!

They have the best cocktail shrimp but service was horrible. The TV was too loud I asked the waitress nicely if she could lower the volume and she said no, only the manager could??? Then the movie they were playing had a sex scene. Our food took too long, they only had one cook, and it was freezing cold and when I asked for my check she took forever!!! She only had three tables to attend, really??? And the restroom needs a baby changing station I had to put my baby’s blankets on the floor to change my baby.

If there was a no star option that is what they would get. First the service is horrible the cashier looked at us as if we are stupid and spoke the us as if she was annoyed we were there. We ordered to go because we need to return to work. Our order was just sitting there they did not bother to ask if it was ours. We had to ask them if that order sitting there was ours. She then says oh yeaa it is. Horrible! Then I ask if curtido and hot sauce were in the containers. She says with much certainty that yes it’s all in there. Much to our surprise no curtido or hot sauce! What! Noo!
Second of all the restroom has no soap! I should have cancelled my order right then and there. I have them the benefit of the doubt. Mistake!
Lastly. I could not eat the food. I opened the «to go» container and to my disgust there was huge booger on the top side of the container. I almost threw up.

Delicious pupusas! Very tasty and juicy carne asada plate. Very friendly server.
I had a great experience! Too bad I don’t work around here anymore otherwise I’d totally come back for more.

this are the best pupusas ever… if u in a hurry than go next door and get you some tacos cus good pupusas take time they also have flautas de desebradas real good stuff
