came here with a friend after seeing their margarita happy hour deal for Mondays and was soooo happy I did. we had been searching for a cheaper margarita place because we like to have a margarita Monday as often as we can and this place really came through. it’s $ 2 for house margaritas until 8pm which is later than most places and the margaritas are really good! I also ordered 2 tacos, the chicken and the pork, which were awesome. our server was a little slow but I won’t complain much on that until I go back and see if it was just that one. this place also has a deal going on for something every day except Friday which is incredible. I will definitely be back here many Mondays and probably some other days to check out what else they have to offer

I’ve come here several times with friends for their happy hour. They have $ 1.50 margaritas on Mondays. Who doesn’t want a marg for $ 1.50. They also have deals on appetizers, tacos, etc. Their nachos are great. We’ve also tried the stuffed jalapenos which were great. They have complimentary valet only. No self-parking lot. The valet is accommodating in this area — just bring cash to tip.

I mentioned in one of my previous review that it always comes down to perspective. What are you looking for? Watching football and drinking cheap cocktails? You’ve found your place! The Pistolero have an inexpensive happy hour on Saturday that allows you to comfortably get drunk while watching college football one their reasonably sized screens. Now… Having lived in Mexico for a few years, I am a tequila drinker. I can guarantee you that, unless your used to it, drinking their margaritas for 3 hours will give you a serious headache. Anyway, the bar was quiet, which is what I needed that day and I had a good moment observing the paintings and pictures. Plus I had beer instead of margaritas, which I’m sure was smart of me.

Great happy hour! Ok chips and salsa. The guy with dark hair and a beard is a major DOUCHBAG. One of the 2 bartenders appeared to be drunk today. He slammed a shot glass and it cracked all over the counter. TERRIBLE service!

They probably have some of the best margarita deals during happy hour. Great service and atmosphere, great food. Will return!

Took 25 minutes to get a drink. Some people at our table never got items they ordered twice or more. Never coming back.

Great place for happy hour! Monday — Friday’s 4 – 8, so pretty good hours. Happy hour selections are pretty decent. A couple unique offerings are their tamales and etole for only $ 5. I had the tamales, which were pretty filling. The happy hour sangria is okay, but I would rather order the margaritas next time(I had both). Great vibe and décor! Would come back for happy hour hang outs with friends.

Food is great and the drinks are good. Service is hit or miss but overall a good experience. This is usually the place for my friends to get together.

Amazing happy hour deals. Came here with a girlfriend on a Wednesday after work. Arrived around 5:30pm and the lot was half empty. No valet? Score. I hate people driving my car. Walked right in and sat ourselves at a cocktail table. Our waitress greeted us right away and was extremely pleasant. I wish I got her name. I was expecting crappy service based on all the reviews, but our girl was super attentive and friendly. So if you see her, make sure you sit in her section! The food was reaaaaaaalllyy good guys. I think I enjoyed it too much cause I demolished everything. The margaritas were cheap but as others have mentioned, tasted like cheap tequila. But don’t expect top shelf if you’re paying $ 5/drink. It took about 4 of these babies to get a slight buzz, and I’m a cheap date. Nachos 5⁄5: Wednesdays are $ 5 nachos, but I would definitely pay full price cause it was superb. Don’t forget to add steak. It makes a difference. Guacamole 4⁄5: Fresh. Not the mushy store bought kind. It was a little bland and needed salt. Elote 4⁄5: Super mayo-y topped with a thick layer of cheese. Great flavors, but there was too much mayo for my taste. Stuffed Jalapenos: 4⁄5: Comes with 3 peppers per order. The jalapenos were large and stuffed with cheese. They do have a nice kick to them, so if you can’t handle the heat do not order these. I will be back! Happy eating.

Great food and strong margaritas. What else is there, right? Well, turns out customer service and a friendly wait staff would have made the night memorable, and we definitely didn’t get that. Our server was sullen and annoyed(we were the only people dining). The game was on so loud for the bar crowd that you couldn’t hear yourselves talk. The salsa refill was in a squeeze bottle that broke and covered me in salsa. Yay.

Usually come to this place pretty often but the last 2 times I’ve been, the customer service has been HORRIBLE specially from the new bartender who is extremely rude.(don’t know his name, and no not Joel he’s great!) If you visit your best bet is to sit at the bar and order from Joel who is welcoming and FRIENDLY, waitress’s are pretty slow.

Been here twice on Mondays for $ 2 house ritas! I like em on the rocks but frozen aren’t so bad. They have complimentary valet, which is pretty nice since their parking lot is small. You seat yourself so you choose to sit at the bar, a booth or a table-they do have outdoor seating as well. First time, we sat at the bar and the bartender was pretty nice. He gave us info on their infused tequila and their sangria. We ordered chips w guac and they were pretty good, not too salty and the guac was tasty. Second time I went, it was more packed than last time. The waitress kept forgetting about us so this was a disappointment. We ordered chips w queso, man that queso was good! we ran out of chips before we ran out of queso tho lol it was a lot! My friends ordered a taco al pastor, cumin fries and enchiladas. I ordered nachos. The taco seemed simple but my friend said it was alright. The fries were yummy and next time I think I’ll order them for myself lol the enchiladas came w beans and rice-the beans were bland and the rice was not great, she didn’t complain about the enchiladas. I ordered my nachos w steak and my my my were there a lot of nachos! Maybe we shouldn’t have ordered the chips w queso at the beginning lol cause I couldn’t finish them! I’ll def keep coming back and I’ll bring more friends next time! Oh, and during happy hour 4−8pm, they have $ 5 apps.

Love this place for Tex Mex happy hour! The venue is pretty neat. The parking lot could be a bit larger, but that’s normal for most places on Westheimer anyway. The inside has a great setup. It’s deceivingly spacious with an assortment of booths, tables, and nice bar seating. It’s a little dark, but it sets a nice vibe. The service is great too! I highly recommend this place for happy hour, and mainly just happy hour. It’s 4 – 8, which is unique and convenient, and they do not try and cheat you with the deals. The $ 3 margs will keep you coming back, but trust me, one is enough. So yummy and strong! $ 3 margs and $ 4 sangria are everyday, but they have cool deals like $ 1 tacos, discounted tequila, and other perks on other nights as well. And the deals on food are great too! The elote is creamy and savory, and I loved my nachos. I was super stoked to try the ¼ lb steak fajitas. They came out hot and sizzling with tons of onions and bell peppers, but I guess those were the bells and whistles because the meat was pretty tough and the tortillas were not soft at all. They came with standard rice and beans(both yawn-worthy) and guac, sour cream, and pico, so at least it was filling. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be coming back to Pistolero’s, but it’ll be for drinks and maybe a snack. Otherwise, this place is perfectly average!

The food here is ok bit is the value everyday of the week that makes me like this place. Everyday there is a special that makes you continue to come. Margaritas Monday is my favorite with their potent house tequila. Taco Tuesday is next on the list with their tasty seafood tacos. I just like drinking more than eating that this place that’s just my two cents.

This is more of a fancier Mexican restaurant with infused tequila and no free chips and salsa. My boyfriend had the pastor and barbacoa tacos. The tacos were a good size. The pastor was incredible delicious, but the barbacoa left something to be desired. The flavor seemed like it was missing something. I had the burger. The meat by itself wasn’t to call home about, but all of the flavors worked really well together. The egg on it wasn’t runny though, but I didn’t specifically ask for that so that’s on me. I would recommend going for the $ 1 taco night. The bartender/waiter was really nice and attentive. But I’m glad it wasn’t busy because he was the only one it there.

This place was a food restaurant(Mexican). Also they had burgers? Everything was sticky. I would eat here again if I forgot about eating here before. Otherwise it’s just a maybe.

I really could not expect anything great for their $ 1 taco Tuesday. I got four different tacos and they were just not good. It was sad. On top of it, we ordered regular house margaritas and for some reason, it tasted awful. God, who the hell can drink those pickle juice-like margaritas. It’s like drinking a margarita right after brushing your teeth with Colgate… except it never gets better. I stopped drinking after a sip and just a ordered a beer. At least they got the beer(a Santo) right… I mean Saint Arnold Brewery got it right. Also, our bartender was trying to be funny/sarcastic but was just annoying. You were not funny sir. Be a comedian somewhere else. Save your time and go somewhere else. Unless you like bad food, drinks, and service.

I really like this place and I hope it stays open. We decided to head over for after dinner drinks on a Friday. It was fairly empty but sometimes that’s a good thing. I love the décor and concept as they have taken bits of culture and tradition and nicely packaged it for us to enjoy. I ended up ordering the house margarita and strawberry berry margarita. Both were very strong and pricey. However, this is normal for cocktail prices. The house margarita was my favorite. I’m not much of a drinker but frozen drinks always bring me joy. I recommend this place to hang out with friends and to try a few drinks!

Very cool happy hour spot. I like the drink specials and small plate appetizers. It gives you the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes instead of getting too full on one dish. I recommend the elotes and the ribs. I just wish the salsas were a little hotter. They have a decent selection of tequila, but I feel their cocktails were a bit on the sweet side. I liked the décor. Almost reminded me of a border town restaurant. Complimentary valet parking is available.
