Huevos rancheros, migas, tortas, enchiladas verdes, café de olla(cinammon-infused coffee) and al mind croissant are just a few of my favorite things here. Go try It!

Delicious! We came here for the first I me this morning to get breakfast and both loved it. The cinnamon coffee is outstanding and the food is authentic and absolutely wonderful. I’m already excited to come back and try lunch here! Totally recommended. Especially on a sunny day where you can sit outside and have a great meal with a good cup of coffee, isn’t that what being alive is all about?

Had a late lunch here on Tuesday. Service left a lot to be desired. Waitress kept on walking past my table just ignoring me. I finally went to the cashier area to place order. He thought I was trying to pay. He finally got someone to come and take order. I tried the posole. Which was good, not the best as other reviews indicated. Probably not coming back based on poor service.

My experience with Guadalupana mirrors my experience with my best friend. At first I wasn’t impressed by it and didn’t think I would come back but when I tried it again, I loved it. Ironically, I’ve been with my best friend to this place twice. My best friend swears by the cinnamon coffee. I’m not a huge black coffee fan but even I found the coffee pretty good, which is saying a lot. I got the huevos rancheros which was pure love. The best part was the yolk dribbling into my rice and beans when I’d softly break into the egg. I am salivating just thinking about the meal. Also, the flour tortillas are on point(I hear the corn ones are just as good). And best of all, great service! The staff was friendly, attentive, quick! I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I think this place will quickly join my list of Houston’s coveted eats. In terms of ambiance, this place has that small, tight-knit, super causal kinda vibe so don’t come in wearing beige trousers and a beige cardigan wielding a Dooney & Bourke tote like I did. I think cutoff shorts and a tank would be sufficient.(tldr; it’s an informal place)

This is my favorite place for breakfast! The coffee is so smooth & delicious. All of their breakfast tacos are so good! Occasionally is get the huevos rancheros. If you go for lunch the Torta Cubana is possibly the best sandwich I’ve ever had!!! Also, the toasted almond croissant is buttery and heavenly!

Love this place!!! worth the drive from Katy. The best pork Cemita, Green Enchiladas, Vampirito(juice)… only downside is waiting for a table on busy weekends and that they close early at 3pm. Love the cinamonn coffee and fresh baked goods. I have been coming here for over 25 years. It’s nice to walk in and be treated like friends of the house.

We came here on a Sunday morning for brunch and all I can say is, OMG, delicious! This place is a nice little quaint spot, next to a corner store and a laundromat. It was pretty busy and I felt like I was in someone’s house. It was also pretty nice that the owner was walking around refilling drinks and making small talk with the patrons. I’m not a fan of cinnamon coffee and unfortunately they didn’t tell me that’s all they have BUT I LOVED the huevos rancheros and I could probably drink their salsa. I was pleasantly surprised by this place and I can’t wait to return.

The food is awesome and the waitstaff handled a full restaurant very well. Best chicken mole I have had in Houston and the coffee is very interesting.

My only complaint about this place is kind of their blessing is that it has been discovered… This place it a true«whole in the wall» gem… Everything about it is right on point… It’s byob… the prices are great and the food is down home authentic mexican food… I love their Besteck and Queso torta… It’s kind of like a Mexican version of a philly cheese steak but over the top and way better… The torta bread is always perfect with just the right crisp. Their mole is some of the best I have every tasted… Also their refried beans are awesome… The fun folk art brings the place together… I have been going here for years with my BFF this is one of my top places to have brunch… Very happening, very casual, very friendly service… I am glad their business has taken off these folks deserve success…

I had a late lunch with some good friends here and can’t believe how I forgot to keep coming back here. Service was one of the best I’ve had in a long time courtesy of the owner(though I think it also had a little something to do with the fact that one my friends speaks Spanish… but I’m not complaining!) I’m sure this place gets packed at peak hours, so either get here early or come for a late meal. Currently, I think their hours are 7am-3pm daily. I’ve only gotten the Enchiladas con Queso(the one with spinach and shrimp) because it is delicious. I know I should try other items, but I’m perfectly happy with this one. Their coffee is so fresh and delicious. If you’re not a black coffee drinker, you should definitely try this one without anything added first. The owner was so kind this time around and gave us some complimentary cups of coffee :) I love the coffee, so I took a bag of of it home($ 13 discounted to $ 11) to help me through finals. As for dessert, the tres leches is awesome. I hear the flan is the best in town, too. I have a feeling I’ll be back more often!

Ah-may-zing. Delicious Mexican café that is more Mex than Tex(thank god). I need to go back each week so I can work my way down the menu. We started with a gordita(carnitas was delicious), a pork tamale(was too full after one gordita and so I haven’t even tried it yet — saving it for lunch), and my hubby got the enchiladas verdes — stuffed with moist chicken and accompanied by casera(home-style) rice and beans. My coffee snob husband didn’t love the coffee(he’s from Brazil after all), but I liked the hint of cinnamon. And it was the perfect accompaniment to the churro filled with dulce de leche. Their red and green salsas are excellent. Prices are reasonable and I was surprised that you actually get table service in this tiny café. Awesome! Booth was big enough to hold baby’s car seat. The place attracts a wide variety of people, families, after-yoga ladies, working men, etc. You’ll hear a sing song mix of English and Spanish thought the restaurant. Service is ultra friendly. Only two small complaints: they use sour cream instead of authentic Mexican crema(I hate this TexMex substitution), and you walk out smelling like a taco. But that’s a small price to pay for all of the happy goodness you’ll experience inside.

great Tex Mex small, gets busy… tables outside good for owners bringing pooches… cashing out a bit of a cluster-something :) Paying at register for tables and walk-ins getting bakery stuff makes for a lot of unorganized standing and confusion. Come early. Enchiladas Verde great even for breakfast! Coffee I had and was un-memorable but did the job.

Second time here. These people have got it down. Best pozole in Houston. !!! Homemade and tastes like your Abuela’s or your mother’s recipe. Cinnamon coffee mmmm. I tried the Cuban sandwich today and it just melts in your mouth. The bakery marranitos aka«ginger pigs» are a MUST. So fluffy and thick!!! Service is like you’re invited to a friends home. Not too crowded, atmosphere calm unlike other morning crowded«hype» places. Sopes are delish and tacos are a favorite for my son. I would recommend the pozole and the Cuban torta. Sunday morning tradition from now on.

We were looking for pozole; we googled it, ask around but couldn’t find something closest to the real thing until we came here. Excellent flavour, it seems pozole here is Guerrero style which is a red soup based. This is the real deal.

La Guadalupana is a cute little restaurant that is great for breakfast and baked goods! The service is polite and turn over is relatively quick– even on busy mornings. The casual setting and friendly staff bring a comforting ambiance that only a local hole-in-the-wall gem could bring. I have to say, their cinnamon coffee is the bomb! You know what goes great with coffee? Pastries! They have a ton of freshly baked goods. Concha, croissants, cakes, and my favorite: churros! Their churros are the best because they’re filled with a sweet caramel filling. I have to resist buying more than one because I know I’d be able to eat my weight in them. I usually come here for breakfast so I haven’t tried much of the non-breakfast menu items. Last time I was here I got the breakfast tacos. Perfect portions and great price! I would say the ratio of eggs to meat wasn’t overwhelming and the way they seasoned the tacos had a mild but tasty kick.

La Guadalupana has stolen a piece of my corazon. This place is so yummy, it warranted 2 visits in 4 days. Their breakfast tacos are really good. I’ve had the homestyle with eggs, potatoes, and sausage. The sausage are actually cut up wieners instead of your traditional breakfast sausage. My boyfriend said the cut up wieners was authentic to how mexicans would eat it. Surprisingly, it was really good. I’ve also had the taco a la mexicana with eggs, jalapenos, and chorizo. All so good washed down with horchata! I also grabbed a few pastries, all of which were superb. The churro was sooo good with whatever filling they have inside. The almond croissant is not like common bond’s across the street, but it is is good in it’s own right. I’ve never been a huge fan of the round pastry with the hard icing from other panaderias but I could not stop eating the one at La Guadalupana. It was soft and melted in your mouth. I finished an entire one on my own. The flaky apple pastry was delicious as well. On our second visit, we had the bistek y queso torta and tostada with pork, both were delicious! The bistek y queso was my personal favorite.

thats how i felt after eating here… eh, its ok. i wonder if the people who gave this place 4−5star reviews, are those who have never stepped into a Fiesta grocery store or have never eaten at La Michoachana or the likes of small hispanic grocery store. the menu is simple, typical Mexican fare: tortas(the bread is soft, and the serving size is comfortable sized for one), tacos(the flour tortillas are homemade, thick and chewy). i’m not sure if posole was listed on the menu, but we asked for it and it was available. A big bowl of posole came with tostada that had a green salad on top! that was a nice touch to round out the heavy meal. the tres leches cake… eh. dense, small crumb, just overall sweet. i still like amazon/americas cake better.

Wow! What a hidden gem. This place is down the street from Commom Bond. It’s kind of hidden, it’s in the same complex as a convenient store. Parking is very limited, but there is plenty of street parking available. The food is wonderful! As typical, you get started off with complimentary chips and two types of salsa. I prefer the green salsa as the red is a tad spicier. Order the Breakfast torta it’s soooo good. It has egg, potato, chorizo, jalapeño, beans, and cheese in between buttery bread. It’s massive! if you want to try other things I recommend splitting this with someone. Barbacoa taco is not on the menu, but they can still make it. it’s amazing as well. The flour tortilla is doughy and bomb. Pork tamale was another favorite. Cinnamon coffee was tasty. Did I mention they walk around filling up your cup of coffee as well. I got mine over ice. If your not a fan of coffee try their strawberry smoothie! You won’t be disappointed. Before you leave make sure you try the tres leches cake. Best tres leches in Houston. I enjoyed this place so much I came back the next day with the wife. She loved it too.

This place has decent mexican food. I enjoyed the tostadas, and my friends all enjoyed their dishes as well. It does have some strong mexican flavors, and is good for breakfast. You will pay at the counter, so sometimes the waiter service isn’t that great. There is patio seating, which is great when the weather’s nice. You’ll likely have to park on the neighborhood street nearby.

Back in the summer of ’13, the bf and I would make a near-weekly pilgrimage to this place, perhaps my most beloved weekend breakfast/brunch spot in Houston. We never managed to make it in before 10:30 or 11am, but don’t recall any wait longer than, say, 10 minutes or so. Parking can be a challenge, too, but generally there are some options on the street. When we stopped back in town for the Fourth of July weekend, we were so pleased to find that there wasn’t at all a wait at 9:00am-ish, but moreover that the food is just as delicious as we remembered. Our favorites: –Almond croissant: flaky-fresh, buttery croissants with almond filling and sliced almonds. –Perfection, with a sip of the cinnamon coffee! –Breakfast torta(4.99): warm, pressed sandwich with a slice or two of cheese, refried beans, scrambled eggs with chorizo, peppers, and potatoes. MYFAVORITE! –Coffee, which is deliciously cinnamon-infused) –Migas: served with your choice of corn or wheat tortillas See ya later, Guadalupana… Till our next visit, I’ll be dreaming of cinnamon coffee and almond croissants…

Señor Diaz is a true gem and treats his patrons like compadres. I dropped in to order some take-out for a relative in need of comfort food, and as I sat there waiting for the order, sipping on their bomb-diggity cinnamon coffee, Señor Diaz walked over and brought me a canela-filled churro on a plate. «You can’t have coffee without a churro,» he told me. We started talking about their Mexican Coffee which comes straight from the mountains of Puebla, so I agreed to buy two bags. «Make sure you give her a discount,» he reminded the cashier. We then began talking about his mole — which I’ve yet to try at La Guadalupana or anywhere else for that matter because I typically only like my Abuelita’s — but he insisted I try his recipe. He brought out a small dish with their mole sauce and a side of bread. Yes, I’m definitely going to order their famous mole enchiladas next time. The sauce had a hint of spice, sweetness and had a light and fluffy constancy to it — and it wasn’t greasy! I’ve been a longtime fan of their breakfast — the Vampiro is perfect for hangovers — but this last visit gave me warm fuzzies. It was nice to have the owner sit down and join me for cafesito and talk about the Motherland. :)

My first visit for lunch. I ordered the Tacos al Carbon(beef). I got 3 tacos with plenty of meat, lettuce and tomatoes. It also came with a guacamole and a cup of beans. I really loved the beans! They were cooked all the way through and cooked with chucks of bacon fat and the sausage. My coworker ordered the chicken soup with rice. It was a huge bowl and also had plenty of meat. I think the soup could have used some more flavor. The breakfast tacos are delicious. I like that they use sausage chucks.

Upon entering I was greeted by the owner Mr. Diaz and offered a free cup of coffee while I waited for my large order of tacos Togo. The place reminded me of walking into grandmas house, super cluttered but clean! The aroma of cinnamon filled the air and it was from this amazing coffee I am currently chugging! I was thoroughly impressed by the service, location, and coffee, once I ate my food(chorizo and egg taco/potato and egg taco) I liked it! Not loved it! Liked. I live in east end where God placed the best taco houses in Texas on navigation so excuse my snobbery, it’s because I’m an expert and have had the best Their tacos were decent, nothing I would urge you to try, the flour tortillas are not homemade but tasty nonetheless. I could walk to this place from work, that’s why I stopped by. I will be back for the pan dulce, awesome coffee, and the occasional mediocre taco. give them a shot!

Desayuno delicioso! When Farrah suggested we go to La Guadalupana Bakery & Café on the last morning of a recent Houston visit, I was all in. I read the reviews prior to our visit and was excited for both cinnamon coffee and a solid authentic Mexican breakfast, and that’s exactly what I got! I went with an omelette, which came with tortillas and beans, and I also had some of Farrah’s enchilada. The coffee did no disappoint either… I should have purchased some to take home with me! I also visited the bakery section and ordered a «concha» to go. It barely made it past security at the airport a couple of hours later; it had the perfect amount of sweetness and I demolished it! Know before you go that LGB&C is nothing fancy and that there is limited parking in their shared parking lot, but head on in for some friendly service, great Mexican food — both savory and sweet, and friendly service too.
