One of the finest selections of Cowboy costumes in the state. If you want to dress up like a Hollywood creation, pull up your Wranglers while spitin’ some chaw with your wallet handin’ out like ya just got off the back 40, this is your costume store partna! Apparently President Bush shopped here along with my friend Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. Go figure. Friendly staff.

The most amazing store with a very knowledgeable staff. From the moment you walk in the store, they sales people make you feel welcome– helpful but not pushy! The merchandise they carry is second to none and the boot selection is fantastic.

While I still love the merchandise carried in this store, I don’t care for the way the salespeople, especially the women that work the ladies’ area, fight over customers. I don’t know if they work on commission or what but it’s unprofessional to do this in front of customers. It’s happened more than once recently. I ended up walking out twice and going elsewhere because I didn’t appreciate the poor behavior. I can order the same merchandise online, tax free, free shipping. I’m not sure I’ll keep putting up with this.

I have shopped at Pinto Ranch for several years, and before its beginning many of the staff were at Stelzig’s in the Galleria area. The sales people are very knowledgable, friendly and accessible. That’s one of the things I really like at Pinto, being able to spend some time talking quality with the staff. I have bought some very fine boots there after a lot of discussion to understand the quality that went into them. Pinto certainly has a high-end element but they also have a big variety of modestly priced and well made khakis and sport coats. You can get your rodeo duds there, they’ve got Clint Orms buckles, they’ll clean and shape your Stetson, and there’s a guy in the back making saddles. Pinto is not just one of the best clothing stores in Houston, it’s an authentic emporium of the gear and clothing that settled the West.

I purchase a belt from them about a year ago. This $ 100 belt metal tip came off and they repair it free of charge. Three weeks later it came off again. I guess I was expecting more for a $ 100 belt.

Very high end shop. Everything looks fashionable but I have to be honest, I could never put down $ 250 on one shirt. That is insane. Have to say staff is very friendly though.

I came here last Saturday for the Old Gringo trunk show. My Mom was in the market for a new pair of boots for Christmas and she wanted my help deciding. It was great to be able to visit with the Old Gringo representative to discuss the new styles of boots and get feedback on what his thoughts were on them. My Mom decided on a new pair and it will arrive at the store next week. The prices for Old Gringos don’t vary much from store to store, so even though this is a very high end store, the prices are competitive when it comes to these boots. As far as the rest of the store, they have some great western apparel and belts. The prices are high, but they are great quality. The jewelry, on the other hand, is the same selection I can find at the Gem and Jewelry show that comes to Reliant a few times a year. Knowing the prices there, I cannot fathom spending twice as much here at Pinto Ranch. It is the SAME jewelry, not copies or fakes, but the same.

We were shopping in the Galleria area and saw the store and decided to stop in to see what PR had. While the stuff was very nice and very expensive, the staff followed us around everywhere we went. They made us feel very uncomfortable and as if we were going to steal something. I understand that they probably get commission but they need to understand that some people just want to look.

I have lived in Texas twice. The first was Graduate School at Texas A&M and the second was in Houston on a work assignment. While I’m perfectly happy to just be visiting the Bayou City, there’s a few things I miss besides good BBQ and Tex Mex. One is the whole Kicker Kulture(where dancing to the«Cotton Eyed Joe» taught me the true value of Bull Shit) and the other is a certain politeness where people say«howdy», introduce themselves, look you in the eye and shake your hand. I found both during a recent visit to Pinto Ranch. The store is gorgeous and offers a generous and visually pleasing selection of boots, hats, belts, tack, clothing, and as a bonus Filson products. The prices are a bit dear, but this is definitely one of those places that you get what you pay for in both goods and service.
