Been here many times for lunch, and I really enjoy this mom and pop authentic thai restaurant. They have a vast variety of entrees in their menu, their lunch special runs about $ 8 per plate which is not bad since it comes with soup and egg roll as well. Their food is fresh and tasty. The only complaint I would have is the customer service, not that is bad its just they don’t have enough help. So if you come when its busy then you will most likely have to wait. Overall great food!

Sorry, but unfortunately I found hair in my meal. This was a great disappointment. I used to take out a couple of times a week.

Just tried the Pad Thai with chicken, shrimp, and beef. When delivered the beef was not flavored you can tell that the beef came in frozen slices cause the beef was chewy with no flavor. To top it off I only received 2 small shrimp :-(. Noodles were mushy and stuck together. I asked for their peanut sauce which was not the best that I tried(very vinegary). If you’re in the mood for Thai food please go to Nit Noi their food are much fresher and flavorful also make sure you asked for their homemade peanut sauce!!!

The food was excellence. My favorite dish was the chicken pad Thai. That crunch it had was spectacular. I would recommend this place to any of my friends. The service was excellent as well.

Great Thai food, with even better service. When I’m craving Thai food, this is my go-to spot. I love their Red Curry and can’t get enough of their pineapple red curry with added tomatoes. They always bend over backward to make every request and make it fast. I am very glad I found this place!

Love the green curry and my wife really enjoys the Tom Kha. This place should be packed but it’s usually empty.

Great service with really friendly waiter. Haven’t had too much Thai food to compare it to but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Very solid food. I came for lunch and got the thai cashew with chicken. Full of flavor and spice! Let me tell you though if you are hungry or a big guy or gal this lunch portion will tease you at best lol. Luckily I eat a lot less than I used to and have been fasting a lot so the portion size was great for me but if you are used to Texas sized portions you will not be getting it here. Lol. Good food and flavor though and the owners are really nice.

Trying to bring the Unilocal score up a bit as everything my family of four had tonight was GOOD! Service was awkward and clumsy but wasn’t expecting top notch service In a somewhat run down strip mall on 1960. We will def return for a good quick cheap family meal!

I can’t believe the reviews on this place. My fiancé and I have been regular customers now for about 3 years. From the times we have gone its clear this place has a lot of regulars that enjoy the food just as much as we do. We always get the same dish for lunch and it’s consistently delicious. He orders the green curry with chicken and a side of soup. I normally don’t like spicy food but the milky-ness of the dish compliments the spice really well. It’s very light, flavorful, and clean. I get the pad Thai with chicken and a side salad. Salad is always fresh and crispy. The egg roll is the best! Not greasy at all and full of meat. They are generous with the pad Thai portion and the chicken. The sweet, peanuty, and saltiness is perfect. It’s always made fresh to order and we don’t have to wait long for it. I was debating on taking off a star because our favorite server is no longer there. The owner’s niece I believe it was. She was always so sweet and knew what we wanted as soon as we walked in the door. It seems that they went through a few people after she left but the lady they have now is really nice. Some of the other reviews are complaining about décor and the noise? Those things are all non– issues if I’m going to eat some good food.

This place gets way too bad of a reputation. Okay, so it isn’t _really_a five-star restaurant, but it’s certainly four stars in terms of the food, and I felt like these one and tow star reviews aren’t fair. A few things first off: You can order ahead of time and either pick up your food or have it waiting for you when you get there, saving you the«wait time for your food.» The food is great and SPICY if you order the right dishes, but they have what’s basically an «American Chinese food» menu for people that they think won’t like Thai food. So the menu is basically littered with landmines. I tend to stick to the Kee Mow(noodles or rice), curry, and the steamed fish. It’s great flavor, good texture and a generous portion. They’re great dishes, especially if you kick up the spiciness rating. Their default is a 1/5, and I’d really suggest a 3⁄5 for a person that’s used to spice. 5⁄5 is a CHALLENGE. As the other reviews say, this is not a place for ambiance. Go here for the food. They do allow you to bring your own alcohol, if you feel like doing that. After having one of their dishes though, you might be asking for a glass of milk instead!

I pass by here all the time and just recently stopped to visit. Wish I would have sooner. Was not expecting such authentic flavor and wonderfully simplistic plating. No need to drive inside the loop for good Thai anymore.

First of all, I never wrote a review for any places this long. However, I truly believe that folks at Panang deserve more. As a Thai person, this family-owned Thai restaurant really is something to remind me of home since most of the dishes here are prepared according to traditional Thai cooking. Every dish is assembled individually because they do not have pre-made seasoning sauce. Therefore, the down turn is sometimes it will take longer than you expect to get what you order. The service could be a little slow when busy because, for some reasons, they have only one staff on the floor. So, be patience. This place is not also decorated with fancy furnitures, exotic sculptures or anything unnecessary. I gave this place 5 star solely on their food and their food is what keeps me coming back. For future reference, you might find that you get a different-looking food when you order with the same name that you use in other Thai places because it looks the way it would have been prepared in Thailand. When come here, you might want to try REAL Pad Thai, Panang curry, Thai fried rice, heavenly chicken, beef salad, triple flavored spicy fish, egg roll, stuffed eggplants, Spicy steamed fish, and etc. Panang may not be awarded as the best Thai restaurant by anyone, but the food they serve is among the best I could ever fine in the area. Give this place a try

DONOT take somebody here on the first date if you’re expecting to woo them over. I’ve eaten in hospital cafeterias that have more ambiance. Let’s just hope the designer who decided to put periwinkle paint on the wall along with lace curtains and to use nightlights to illuminate the restaurant won’t be appearing on trading spaces anytime soon. But the food is really the most important part and can make you forgive a lot of mistakes. I had the pad thai and the tom yum soup, fairly mundane choices but I think good measures of the quality of food. They both happened to be delicious and full of flavor. The dishes were authentic and well prepared. I noticed the use of kafir lime leaves and galanga both of which are pretty hard to get a hold of and speaks to the dedication to quality food. Portions were just the right size and the prices are very reasonable. In addition to the great food, the waitstaff were very helpful, knowledgeable, attentive, and patient. Maybe the décor wasn’t an after thought after all, since the owners knew they would let the food do all the talking. Great place to eat in

I love Thai food. Pa nang have it’s own unique taste. It is not a real nice restaurant, but when I consider price it does have very good food. I like their a little spicy sauce. Only thing that i want them change is they open on Sunday 12pm and take order only after 12:30pm. That is so inconvinient for me. But I recommand anyone who love healthy Thai food!

The was… well, not«bad.» Then again, I had the«house special» Panang Curry. I love Thai food and, well, wanted to venture-out a bit. The quality of the food was fine. The presentation was… well, not bad. Overall, it wasn’t precisely«mediocre…» but I can’t really justify a more positive adjective. Actually, I’d say that it was«adequate.» Where they failed me is in the spice level. When I asked, «can you make it EXTRA spicy,» the waitress asked, «you can handle it?» I affirmed that it’s impossible to make it too spicy. What they brought was, well, about as spicy as ketchup. We waited an additional 10 minutes for our colleague’s food to arrive so that I could ask for chili paste. The service was… well, not good. The décor is that of one of the dive bars you find around military installations(i.e., old, cheap and depressing). Also, for the quality of my meal, I felt that it was over-priced. It was $ 10 for a small-ish plate of noodles with a bit of chicken in sauce. Also, this«daily special» was the same price as on the menu. It wasn’t so bad that I’m angry about it… but I have no intention of returning. I just hit-up the vending machine at work because I was still hungry(granted, I’m «fully American» in my appetite). There are better Thai places in the area. If you like spicy food, this isn’t your place. If you tend toward the blander side of things and eschew fancy décor… well, then perhaps you’ll like it.

Food was boring and bland, although we didn’t really get to order what we wanted to order — we tried, but our waiter made like Ben Kenobi and Jedi-Mind-Tricked us like those stormtroopers in Star Wars… Me: «We’ll have the Rocket Shrimp.» Waiter: «Oh my god, the Rocket Shrimp? Really? It’s so hot.» Me: «How hot? Really hot?» Waiter: «Really, really hot. Fire hot. You don’t like it this hot.» Me: «I don’t like it that hot.» Waiter: «You should try the Fried Tofu.» Me: «On second thought, we’ll try the Fried Tofu.» The Fried Tofu was gross. Overcooked, and way too chewy for tofu. Same thing happened with the entrée, and I ended up with the Pad Thai, which was gross. Noodles were slimy, no sprouts, had to ask for peanuts, and same overcooked chewy tofu. No atmosphere to speak of — bare walls, mostly. A couple Asian-esque pics here and there, but hardly anything really. For music they had the radio on. Love songs from the 70s and 80s. Lionel Richie. Barry Manilow. Bee Gees. I mean, come on people, I’m trying to eat here.
