Poor quality food. Not only is it unclean, it a poor choice for food and no nutritional value. I’d find another place to eat.

This review is more so for the service… rushing, rude front counter personnel! I noticed that the words«Thank you» were not used once towards us during our visit, but observing others being waited on I realized that it was a pick and chosen type situation… good food the majority of the time will not keep me coming back! Treat people as you would like to be treated or someone you know the way you would want them to be treated, Pretty lady!

From the outside appearance of the building I didn’t even think the place was open. The inside wasn’t any better. I’ve had the wing basket w/rice and gravy and the wing basket w/shrimp fried rice. The food was good especially when I was craving some shrimp fried rice or just wanted some wings to complete a meal.

Yes Sir!!! I had to go the hood and get my fix. And for it to be a Friday night I was surely surprise to not see a line! Any who I ordered fried chicken wangz, shrimp fried rice, and some Shrimp Crab puffs. All under $ 10!!! Please don’t forget to bring cash money!!! Maybe even a little extra if you plan on purchasing some CD, s or movies…

I’ve tried Chinese food in many different parts of the country and I swore no on could top Chinese food in NYC. I was proved wrong today. This is the best I’ve ever had and I will continue to visit this place. I love that the fried chicken is perfectly crispy. I also love that it is spicy. The best part? You get 6 pieces which is what I’ve always had to ask for in other places. I think I’m in love loll

Cheap wings dinner with fries or gravy and rice or shrimp fried rice or any fried rice for that matter lol. I also like the chicken tender and the beef and broccoli. If you in the area it’s a must stop

I love Timmy Chan’s y’all. Everybody is always saying how Timmy Chan’s is ghetto. And yes I agree, but the food is just as good if not better than any other low end Chinese restaurant I’ve been to. A few months back they had a fire and was closed for a little while. They’re back open and ready for business again. Today I went through the drive thru and ordered the Mongolian beef. I wanted some wonton soup, but this location don’t sell soup anymore. Everything that I have tried here has been good, the chicken, the lo mein, egg rolls, etc. The restaurant isn’t in the best of neighborhoods, but I haven’t had any bad experiences here. The place isn’t modern at all, but I’m not expecting anything spectacular at Timmy Chan’s. Just good fattening fast food.

Cheap… yes. Tasty… eff no. Maybe this was due to it being a Saturday night? Ordered the worst shrimp fried rice ever.(Seriously how do you mess that up?) My two girlfriends also ordered fried rice with various ingredients. I have been told that the chicken is great but I am honestly afraid to bet my money on any other items. Great way to be welcomed to this city. Also, The security guard perving on young girls really contributed to the great ambiance.

For the price Timmy Chan’s isn’t bad if you are near U of H. For 6 bucks you can get a meal that no ordinary human can finish. It’s a cross between Frenchies and Panda Express. The bullet proof glass in the drive thru adds ambiance to the whole experience. Any dish that has fried chicken in it should do the trick.

Long story short: bland mediocre food in large quantities for little money. A good value if you’re simply looking to fill an empty stomach on the cheap. Otherwise, look elsewhere for good eats. Stopped by for lunch, ordered the spicy shrimp with fried rice. I couldn’t believe how much food I got for only $ 7.10!!!(no drink) I eat quite a bit usually and this was enough food for two meals for me! Unfortunately the food was not particularly good. It wasn’t bad, it was definitely edible, but that’s about it. The spicy shrimp had good flavor and the shrimp was abundant. The only vegetables that came with the shrimp was mounds and mounds of onions. The fried rice was bland and had broken apart and had the consistency of couscous. There was no egg, no veggies, nothing in the fried rice. the rice had turned brown as if some soy sauce had been squirted into it, however it was not enough to bring any flavor to the party.

This is a hood favorite! Every time I was in Houston I ate here. The chicken wings and rice has always been my favorite. I just wish there was one here in L.A.

6 wings and shrimp fried rice that probably can serve two for 6 $, you just can’t beat that. If you get normal rice, they offer gravy on top which helps everything go down. I’m on a mission to finish one of these wing dinners in one sitting, the closest I got was 3 bites away. But on my last bite I just was too full and did not want any more rice. Oh and a large punch helps taking everything in. They accept cash only, but they always hook it up on the orders so you will be full from a few dollars. They advertise it at 5 wings + rice but they always give some extra. Now back to the wings, I just really love them here. Thinking about how they are seasoned and fried gets my mouth watery. GOODWINGS!

This is the only«Chinese» restaurant I’ve ever been to that didn’t have Asians behind the counter… or soup. I absolutely love everything about this place, from the ginormous meal & drink that could feed three for $ 5, the guy selling bootleg movies, the neighborHOOD, the Walmart crowd that often eats here, and the greasy but oh-so-good food they brown bag for you. I have to cut this review short, as I’ve begun to drool, just thinking about the food.

Cheap eats sometimes leave you feeling… well, cheated. If you want to make sure your five dollars goes a long way, then Timmy Chan is your man. If I could, I would tell the owners to let me open a franchise in DC. I’m certain they would get a huge following from both starving students and the State Department. Thank you, Timmy Chan for knowing how to season a wing before frying it. You can drop anything in oil & make it crunch… Twinkie, anyone? I want flavor, and Timmy Chan’s has got it. Wings & rice are a standard here … but I would venture to say that the other items on the menu are just as good. This place is the main reason I am such a hater of the DC «carryout»… MSG meet your match!

The outside and some of the customers might be a little sketchy but the food is AMAZING! Everytime we go to Houston this is our first stop. I get the wing dinner with fries for the price you can’t beat it!

Man, This really has got to be the best kept secret in Houston. I mean where else can you get wings and rice, and four rolls and a Pepsi for $ 5. Located in the heart of Third Ward Houston, Timmy Chan’s is a great place for fine dining. Back in College I use to come here at least once a week, I have pretty much tried everything on the menu, and everything is pretty good. I would Highly recommend this establishment.
