Sunday brunch. Crispy Pompano fish with two kinds of dipping sauce. Also red curry duck, with cherry tomatoes, pineapple and snow peas. Everything is always consistent quality and taste. Clean restaurant. Very friendly servers.

Fantastic food; quick, amiable service; decent prices. I always get the pineapple shrimp fried rice and my husband always gets Chuchi Eggplant, which is highly lauded around here. Definitely think it’s a win.

This place is ALWAYS done to perfection. I always get the red curry chicken at a 4⁄5 spice and its always great. I crave it regularly. I have also had the drunken noodles and the pad thai and it is all amazing. Love this place.

Great service. Drunken Noodles were delicious. Spicy but flavorful. My friend ordered the red curry and she loved it!

I love thai food, always have. I’ve been fortunate enought to eat some exceptional thai food. When it’s that good, you can’t stop eating it, and you dream of coming back. Not so here. I had the pad thai with shrimp and some lemon grass soup with shrimp. it was OK, but both had a slightly sour taste. I did request they make both«hot» with emphasis on the word hot. I’ve had the same dishes here before and don’t recall the sour undertone. I’ll call the sour taste an anomaly, chalk it up to inconsistency. Regardless the food here is just OK.

I’ve only been once, but my experience was great. Went on a Saturday night, easily found parking at 6pm. This could have just been the stars aligning, but it worked out well for us. Our group of 5 was seated promptly(I think we called ahead), and the service was friendly. I got the Drunken Noodles, and also tried a friend’s Gai Pad Prikh King(my usual go-to order for Thai restaurants). The food was delicious. Well worth it. There’s a lot of promising options on the menu, but the drunken noodles may be hard to escape.

I had to struggle between a 3 or 4. Too bad you can’t give half stars. The food is pretty good. Big fan of the drunken chicken noodles, and the garlic chicken(I think is what is is called). Only problem is that they are very inconsistent. There are times when my drunken chicken is all noodles and carrots and sometimes just egg, or sometimes overloaded with chicken. It’s always a surprise what I am going to get. Though the food is good, portions are relatively small for what I am paying. 12 bucks for an entrée is decent, but I would not consider this place a gourmet place so think anything more than 10 is too much for the portion size I am getting. I know they are busy but I have had to wait over 20 minutes for my order sometimes. That being said, drunken noodles are pretty good when they are not overpowered by one ingredient.

Right when I came in I noticed two waitresses that also work at Thai Cottage(both from different locations). I just thought that was a cool coincidence. We didn’t have trouble finding parking and there were several seats available. The restaurant is kinda dark inside and got noisy towards the end of our dinner. It didn’t take too long for someone to take down our order. There were only two waitresses and the restaurant was pretty packed after we got seated. Thai Toast(4⁄5): Comes with six in an order. Greasy but very delicious. Just wished that they gave more of the dipping sauce. Green Curry(3⁄5): Really spicy! It’s one of my favorite Thai dishes but the heat and spice was pretty unbearable for the small amount of rice that they give you. If you can handle spice, then this is a must try! Basil Duck(5⁄5): Very delicious. The menu says that it’s spicy but the dish was actually fairly sweet. Comes with lots of vegetables(i.e. carrots, snow peas, onion slices, green beans). Mango Sticky Rice(5⁄5): Mango was fresh. Wouldn’t recommend ordering this if you don’t like sweets. Our meal ended up being $ 45. The service wasn’t too bad but they were kind of slow. I ordered the mango sticky rice as soon as we got our entrees because I knew it would take awhile. After we ate our entrees, we sat around waiting for our dessert. I had to ask another waitress about the status of our dessert and they said«it’s coming.» It came five minutes later. We had to ask for the bill and the lady handed me the wrong check. We had to flag her down. Overall, the food was good but the service was lacking.

The parking situation is horrendous and single-handedly makes me not want to come to Nidda Thai despite the good food. The parking lot is very limited, and there’s no convenient neighborhood parking nearby. Food: wonderful. Not my #1 Thai pick in Houston, but one of my favorites and conveniently located. Very flavorful. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried(drunken noodles, pad see ew, drunken noodles etc. — I clearly don’t venture far when it comes to Thai food). I did not like the steamed dumplings, particularly the sauce that goes with it. The serving sizes aren’t small, but I’ve certainly had larger portions elsewhere. I’m someone who typically has leftover food, but I finish my plate here. Service: hit or miss Atmosphere: dim and nothing fancy but cozy nonetheless

Being fully present to enjoy a wonderful meal –and remembering what you ate– is such a rarity nowadays because of my feisty little baby. Even when there are four adults you can’t help but fuss over the child because, hey, it’s a mom thing. But what I do remember is the wonderful service that Nidda offered us, even making sure that my baby was comfortable. This place will always hold a special place in my heart because it is the last place that my brother-in-law and I ever dined together before his passing in December. Coming here brings a certain melancholy experience but the staff and food makes it worthwhile. My favorite dish by far will have to be the Fish in the Garden where the fish is perfectly crispy topped with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, chopped green mango, and roasted chili paired with this wonderfully sweet, sour, and spicy chili-like sauce all dancing on top your tongue. If you’re adventurous enough and are willing to stray from the typical Pad Thai and fried rice plates, order this dish!

My favorite Thai place in htown. I get the green curry every time, with extra veggies instead of tofu. Best vegan meal ever. The chu chee egg plant is also amaaaazing and comes with a delicious red curry. I’ve also tried the red and yellow curry and they are tasty and delicious in their own ways, I just prefer green.

I was craving Thai so badly and since Thai Gourmet was closed I opted here for dinner since there was over 400 reviews with a 4 star rating. I was disappointed. It was very expensive for the amount of food we had. We ordered yellow chicken curry, beef drunken noodles, crab fried rice, and papaya salad. Out of the 4 dishes, yellow curry was the only outstanding dish but again the amount given was worst than a lunch potion elsewhere. A 4 star restaurant? No.

I usually go to Khun Kay Thai Café on Montrose for lunch, but this time my friend wanted to go here for the dessert so I had to try it. My go-to Thai dish 8 out 10 times is the Pad Thai, so I stuck with that order for lunch. I got it with Chicken, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. It came with this cute spring roll(half of a spring roll) and a dip. Maybe because I’m used to Vietnamese Spring Rolls, but I didn’t care for this one. It was all veggies(& I love veggies), but it lacked flavor. The sauce wasn’t great either. I’m not sure if they were trying to make a peanut sauce, but I wasn’t a fan. Before the Pad Thai, we got a complimentary soup with our dish. That wasn’t anything to brag about either, but its okay. Overall, I would rather Khun Kay Thai Café because the portions are larger and also I think its more flavorful? I haven’t tried the dessert at Khun Kay… yet so I can’t compare it to here. We ordered the sticky rice with coconut ice cream and it was great, but I can only have a few bites before I’m in a sugar coma.

While I have only been once, I will certainly be going back as Nidda certainly has some of, if not the best Thai I have had in Houston. The food here is incredibly flavorful and portion sizes are decent. On my first trip we tried the Nidda Fresh roll with chicken(the only thing I wouldn’t recommend as it was rather small and easy to get anywhere), the green curry and the ginger lover’s dish which was sauteed with ginger, onions, baby corn and bell peppers. My fiancé is a Thai curry fanatic and has green curry at every Thai place we try and this was easily the best we have tried. The flavors were on point and the consistency, perfect. The ginger lover was certainly as described and I would not recommend to someone who doesn’t like ginger, however, I was in love at first bite. I will certainly be going back to Nidda to start trying the rest of the menu and recommend you do the same!

I’m sitting here on a Tuesday night. The crowd is light here. They have their own parking lot which is a plus. Service is average. Atmosphere is average. Food is average. We ordered pad thai and red curry. The food tasted like any other run-of-the-mill, moderately priced Thai restaurants. The one thing that I would come back here for is the dessert. They ran out of mango and sticky, so we ordered sticky rice and coconut ice cream. Honestly, I would never order this, but it was amazing. My girlfriend and I ate it so fast; despite the fact we were stuffed. I’d say this is a solid Thai place. I’ll try more dishes another day and maybe update this later. This is a 3.5, but not yet a 4. Unilocal needs an update to their system.

I haven’t found a really cozy and authentic Thai restaurant yet, but now I have found the hidden secret! I had this place bookmarked for awhile, and I’m glad I came! Its very cozy inside and feels very«homemade», so we knew we were getting the real deal! –Satay Chicken(1⁄5): I really never like this dish anywhere I go to. I feel the chicken is always dry and I compensate by drenching it in the peanut sauce. My feelings haven’t changed for this dish. –Drunken Noodles with Chicken/Tofu(5⁄5): I never had drunken noodles because I’m definitely a pad thai kinda girl. From my first experience with this dish, I thought it was awesome! It was so flavorful and very well prepared! The dishes were enough for sharing too. –Yellow Curry with rice with Chicken/tofu(10⁄5 if its possible): The curry was amazing… my boyfriend, someone who loves curry and use to work at a Thai restaurant, said that was the best curry he’s ever eaten. It was not too heavy on the coconut or too light, it was literally perfect. I contemplated on how weird it would look if I decided to put my straw into the bowl and just started to drink it through my straw… –Thai tea(5⁄5): Their portion of thai tea was very normal portioned. I only say that because I’ve been to other places where they give you the slimmest cocktail glass and charge you the same price they would with a normal glass of thai tea. I love thai tea, so no complaints here! I will definitely call this place my new thai restaurant! I can’t wait to visit here more often to try their other dishes!

Quicktips: Can’t say I have ever dined inside, but I have made good use of their take-out because it is so close to our new house. Red curry, panang, curry and chicken pad thai(light oil) are our go-to orders. They do have lunch specials, that aren’t available for the weekend and it can be a bit pricy for dinner. They have a cash for coke policy — for every $ 20 you pay in cash, you get a free can of soda. I would say one of the better thai restaurants in the loop, but unfortunately that is not saying much.(IFANYONEHASANYOTHERRECOMMENDATIONS, PLEASEMESSAGEME!) Food: The red curry has lots and lots of vegetables and the panang curry does as well. The chicken pad thai is delicious, but I would recommend light oil as they overdo it on the oil and it comes out a bit greasy. Service: Good prompt service. Ambiance: Typical thai restaurant. Nothing too impress, but good food.

Must try: Chu Chee shrimp/eggplant, any of their curries Been coming here since a colleague recommended this during rotations, thank you T. Potts! Absolutely love their Chu Chee shrimp. The creamy sauce with kaffir lime leaves perfectly accompanies the breaded fried shrimp, so addictive! They also do this with eggplant, also very good but I can never turn down fried shrimp. They also do an excellent job with their curries, perfect balance of spice and coconut milk. They also have your standard noodle dishes, Thai tea, salads. The dining area is a bit older, but great service on the times we dined in. If calling for Togo order, give them at least 20 – 25 minutes.

I’m constantly on the search for a new Thai restaurant and I’m so glad I found this! I’ve driven by this place so many times, but never thought anything of it. Upon entering the restaurant, you are immediately greeted with dining tables. The space is kind of small, but gives it a nice homey feeling. It took a while before our server came around, but it’s probably because he assumed we were waiting for our guests. We decided to start off with some mussels as we waited for our friends to join us. They were perfectly steamed and the dipping sauce that accompanied it had the right amount of heat and tartness. Shortly thereafter, our friends joined us and we opted for a family style dinner. We ordered drunken noodles, duck curry, fried rice, tiger cry and the nidda chicken. Our server didn’t ask for our spice level, and I guess it was our fault for not mentioning it, but everything came out a little more spicy than I expected. It wasn’t unbearable, but it was slightly uncomfortable to eat. Everything had great flavor and tasted exactly like it should have. Although, i found the nidda chicken to be really sweet. We decided to end the night with some dessert. I can never say no to mango and sticky rice. I am so glad I didn’t because it was perfect! The sticky rice had a nice hint of jasmine to it and the mangoes were ripe to perfection. I think I have found a new go to restaurant for Thai food. I will definitely be back!
