Had no idea this place existed until I found it on Unilocal! Very cool music related décor, framed LP’s, concert posters, artists paintings, memorabilia, ect… Went for a late breakfast on a Sunday. They weren’t crowded at all. I am sure they do most of their business at night. There was a small stage in the back of the room. I’m going to have to check and see what bands are coming. I had the short stack pancakes with a piece of pan sausage. I wasn’t expecting them to be so good, they were fantastic! As was the sausage. Best part? Only $ 4.49! Total bargain.

I am really surprised that I haven’t reviewed this place before as I’ve eaten here 20 times in the past several years. Years ago this place had amazing comfort food and tons of great beverages to boot. My last 3 visits seem to confirm that you really just need to order a burger when you come here. Let me run it down. Never order water, cuz it sucks. Like bad tap water from your gramma’s faucet. And never order tea. Because they make it with that same water and leave that nasty stuff out so it turns faster than a presidential candidates opinion on(fill in the blank) near Election Day. Ok. So this time had a salad(side-I know your saying WHAT???) and it was decent. Not the freshest but totally edible. And a bowl of the«Yankee chili MacnCheese) mac-n-cheese with chili on top). This used to be so freakin good you would slap your momma’s momma. I ate it. But it was just ok. I am sad as this was my go to place off the rail. You never expected it to be clean or the service to be awesome but it always had comfort food that was comforting. With this said two previous trips I had the meatloaf sandwich and CFS. Sandwich was not anywhere near it’s quality 2years ago and CFS. NOT Worth it. Sad that kitchen quality drops once you win a couple awards.

Why does it always seem like the sketchiest places have some really good food? We ended up here one Sunday evening, a few months back, after spending the day in the area. This place is sort of off the beaten path although right around the corner from the famous Breakfast Klub. It has an old-fashioned, divey feel and upon walking in, it almost makes you feel like turning around and going someplace else. However, we decided to stay and try them out. The menu consists of your typical comfort food and they also have a bar if you feel like getting your«spirits» lifted. Some of the things we ordered were the chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, fish & chips, and my youngest daughter ordered the chicken nibblers off the kid’s menu. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The French fries were awesome and they include fresh green onions on top to give them a little pop of flavor. The mac-n-cheese was very cheesy and rich. I also hear that they cut their own pickles for their fried pickles and they are some of the best in town. We didn’t get around to trying them out but we will on our next visit here. I wish I could have given them another star because the food is dang good, but the interior really killed my vibe. It could be the atmosphere that they are going for, but on my next visits I think I will stick to patio/outdoor seating.

Chicken fried chicken off the fuckin chain ! Gravy was on point. The mixed sautéed greens were seriously out of sight. Meatloaf was not up to par but the chicken and gravy definitely made up for it. This place is definitely my new honey hole for chicken fried chicken no doubt! Friendly service too

The Island Sunset punch was fab! I had the grilled chicken salad with chips & guacamole for an appetizer. Others at our table had fried pickles with ranch dressing. The ambience was welcoming and the staff deftly handled the large parties who were there that evening. Food came before the appetizer(my only con).

Awesome family friendly, casual comfort food between downtown and the Med Center. Easily accesible via the Light Rail. Great drink specials, cheap beer(PBR for all the hipsters) and the sides are not to be missed. Wifey usually just gets the«sides» plate and is happy as a clam.

Dropped in last night and it was the 4 of us plus 5 of our friends. Kid friendly, ordered chicken nibblers for 4 year old and it was in lunch box. It was cute lunch box. 1 year old had fruit plate which were bite size. We ordered meatloaf and burger sliders. Meatloaf had mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. I took a few bites of meatloaf and it was really good. My sliders did not last long on my plate and homemade chips were great also. Today, I drove back because I left my beach mat had been left behind last night. They have great service. We noticed there was not a play area outside for kids. They have construction and hopefully they will bring it back. We did notice on the way there are kids books by the door. In the evenings after 6pm parking is free. The streets are a bit rough terrain so bring comfortable shoes especially if you bring any munchkins with you!

Great first stop in Houston. Started with a milk bone punch and it was perfectly different! We consumed a pulled pork sandwich, chipotle chicken, chili nachos and a BLT. Everything was great including the trivia pursuit. Topped off with a Popsicle for the kids

On my visit to Houston, my sister and I were on the lookout for some recommended breakfast spots to check out during the weekend. We ended up checking out this spot, and I thought it was just A-OK. The great thing about Natachee’s is that it has a kitschy, colorful décor. It felt like I walked into a place that had a quirky vibe that honored it Southern heritage, and I figured that getting the Green Alien(a lemon/lime juice combo) was a perfect way to coordinate with the local scenery. It was a tart and refreshing beverage, and I was looking forward to seeing what the meal would be like. I ended up ordering the #7 Luv Ya Blue Burger, which I thought was fine but didn’t blow my mind. I’m always going to be a sucker for burgers and anything with blue cheese, but I thought this one didn’t quite stand out for me. If I ever end up in Houston again, I’d definitely give it a try given all of the rave reviews, but maybe I’ll do some more research before ordering off the menu next time.

Came with my friend for dinner. Very nice atmosphere, they had a band playing also. Had fried green beans for the first time, that’s a must here. I had the Chipotle chicken(spicy). I really liked that they had trivia questions on the table. That’s a great idea! Staff was very nice. Overall don’t mind coming here again. You can take the rail too. No parking available and parking garage charges $ 5.

If anybody wants to eat a freakin good burger. You definitely need to come here and try out their delicious mouth watering Astrodome Burger which will leave you wanting for more. The burger overall was so fresh and juicy, it consisted of cheddar bacon, smoked sausage, organic beef with lettuce and Jalapeños. It’s probably one of my favorite burgers I had it in awhile. It’s up there with Stanton Burgers, Bernie’s and Lankfords. Only problem I had was that the parking sucks, there’s hardly anywhere to park! You have to park across the street but that Trinity church and walk over. The atmosphere overall seems pretty dull and dark. It’s in old looking haunted wooden building that needs some remodeling that I think it needs more life but overall the burger and fries are very scrumptious!

Great, quick service. Food is AMAZING! I got the«daughter-in-law«burger, which is a black bean veggi burger with guacamole. Very moist and flavorful, the French fries were from scratch, very good. Definately glad for this spur of the moment choice for lunch!

Amazing Service! The bartender Nolan is great, we shared a hearty laugh because we were both named after Nolan Ryan! Great comfort food I’d recommend the Meatloaf or the Astrodome Burger! Incredible menu, my last date was there and she is a pescatarian and loved their vegetarian options. She had a «burger» and I must admit it did taste surprisingly good. If you haven’t been, what are you waiting for?

Everything I’ve tried at Natachee’s has been just fine! The punches are a little sweet, but one or two along with dinner is just right. Definitely recommend the fried green beans, they’re my all time favorite here for just munchin, and the #7 blue burger keeps me happy.

New to Houston and was in the mood for a burger. Ordered the Renes Red Hot burger that has chopped mushrooms and jalapeños mixed into the patty, which made the burger so juicy and every bite had just the right amount of jalapeño. The burger is topped with cheddar which pairs nicely with the rest of the flavors. Instead of fries, I asked if I could instead have the fried pickles. All I can say to describe the pickles is wow. Great portion size too. I ordered to go and my order was done in 10 minutes. Great place.

Very cool place! The fried green beans, a must-try! Service was great and prices were reasonable. Across the street is the ensemble theater. I frequent this place often. Natasha cheese is now my go to place for lunch before the show!

Very unique place to grab a bite! Has great outdoor seating as well as a charming interior! As a vegetarian, I feel VERY comfortable recommended their house-made veggie burger, called the Daughter-in-Law burger! Don’t forget to try one of their punches! All in all, a charming, fun place to eat in Houston!

Waited a bit for the drinks but I had the house favorite NATACHEES sucker punch and it was great! Ordered the chicken fried steak with onion rings and green beans, battered nicely, not greasy, beef was not too chewy. Kids had the pancakes and asked for extra! Waitress was good! We will be back!

Wife and I came here for date night. We’d been once before, about 2 years ago and appreciate the home style cooking. Previously, the service was pretty slow despite not very many patrons, but the food was good so we decided to give them another shot. When you’re tired of the same olé, same olé, it’s always nice to get a home style cooked meal with a few veggies, even if you’re feeling fat and opt for two starches instead. [APPETIZER]: We started with the fried pickles. The fried pickles are delicious here, just get them. You won’t regret it. Unless you’re a gluten free hipster and you’re lame. [DRINKS]: I started with a Racer 5 because it’s a delicious IPA and tough to find under $ 7. It was $ 5 at Natachee’s. Fiiiiiine, I’ll have two. The wife tried a couple of the punches. In our previous encounter we got a little too cute. I had had the milk bone because… blackberry infused whiskey, but MILKWAS A BADCHOICE. And she had the downy ball punch. It genuinely tastes like you’re chewing on a dryer sheet… pass. This time she went with the Hole in Punch(Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka mixed with lemonade and a little orange liqueur), which she preferred to her second choice, the Triple Dog Dare(Skyy Raspberry, Citron and Blood Orange). [ENTREES]: Wife got a burger, because wife eats burgers like Tweeter drinks beer. She had the Outside In burger(cheddar and jack cheese grilled within the meat, then topped with sauteed spinach, pickles and Ranch dressing). She added bacon. It was delicious, though not necessarily on par with Houston’s best burger joints. After reading Aaron M.‘s review I had to try the meatloaf. Actually, I asked our waitress to choose(for me) between the meatloaf and the The Astrodome burger(a ½ lb of beer + Earl Campbell sausage, bacon, jalapenos and chipotle mayo… yum). Back to meatloaf. It was amazing. I might’ve been better than my Mom’s(don’t worry Mom, nobody can touch your chicken fried steak). I wouldn’t call it two thin slices. It was two relatively thick slices of deliciousness and after I stirred in the mashed potatoes… OMG… I’m having withdrawals right now just thinking about it. I also had a side of the mac-n-cheese, which wasn’t as hot as it could’ve been, but still had delicious flavor. I’m from East Texas and my mom and both my grandmas can do it up right. This meal was on that spectrum. I tried to order a little red wagon for dessert so that my wife could wheel me back to the car. [SERVICE]: Our waitress was Nicholette, and unlike our previous experience she was delightful and attentive despite being the only waitress I saw. She was knowledgeable, helpful, and tolerated my poor attempts to cut up with her. With an appetizer and all the boozing + a healthy tip for a good waitress it came out to $ 70-ish for the two of us, but if you just want two delicious, home style cooked entrees, you can get in and out under $ 30. [SIDENOTE]: For those of you thinking this place is kid friendly. I don’t think that was ever their intent. I think they’re going for home-style cooking, fun punch options and intend to bring in more local, live music acts. The outside space is currently being turned into a parking garage(maybe?) for a mixed living(apt + retail) space next door. Unfortunately, this also(currently) means their back lot is not available. Street parking is decent.

Good food, excellent service(quickly, friendly, & attentively). Ordered Pulled Pork — had a choice of a single bun or three slider– ordered the three sliders. It was hot when it came out to our table(rarity in some places), juicy, tender, tasteful. The fries were good, but a bit limp. Just street parking — there is a lot across the street — $ 2.00 if you get there a little early(Saturday evening). If in downtown again, will go back again.
