I normally don’t do reviews but I have to do a review on this restaurant. I visit this place last night with my friends for a girls night. Restaurant Decour is beautiful . Food is okay. Service was extremely extremely very slow and poor. And I don’t know why our server was so slow and also the kitchen. The restaurant was completely empty with about 5 table total with guest. We arrived at 8:00 pm on Saturday night And got sat right away, and greeted by our server. We order drinks that took like 20 minutes. To long. Order 3 appetizers, 1salad and 1 entrée. Which also took a while. So we order a second round of same drinks. And The server brought two drinks in a different form of presentation that taste totally different. and she also brought the wrong drink to my friend. A Completely different drink. Again they took like 20 minutes. I question the server and asked her why do the drinks taste so different. and taking to long. her reply was that the bar manager made the first round and another bartender made the second round and he was still In The process of learning how to make drinks that’s why they taste different and drinks are serve in different glassware. it didn’t make any sense to me. So I just told her to return the drinks. when the salad I order was brought out to me it was made wrong. Other thing I seen wrong with the server is when I ask her how a certain dish or drink is made. She keep looking over my menu as I was holding it and trying to read the description on it. I don’t think she knew the items very well. At this time we were already annoyed with the situation so we just told her that we like to order dessert and close out the check. When we receive the check she charge us for drinks that were return. At that point I was done and requested to speak to the manager it was 10:30 by the time we left. I will never return to this restaurant don’t understand why again the service was so slow it was empty… We never got a proper visit by the manager to check on us and I just feel their staff needs to get retrain and learn the menu items.

Visited this restaurant for a company party and our service was horrible. Not only did they not have our private section ready for the reserved time specified, but we were charged for items we never received, we constantly had to remind our waiter for updates on drink orders, were told the restaurant was out of strawberries — only to see them used as garnish for a few tables desserts. Was not impressed at all for a receipt well over $ 2000 for only a group of 12. Truly disappointed; especially since we’re a Culinary School. Won’t be visiting again.

Decent, although the décor is beyond amazing — more so than their food, unfortunately. Walking in, everything reminded me of an exotic masquerade ball. It’s a very dimmed restaurant but I kept comfortable in their amazing chair! Haha — Crab Cakes(4⁄5): VERY small portion, but it does come with two, laying in Dijon cream sauce. It was full of crab & flavor topped with aioli and scallions! — Ceasar Salad(5⁄5): Yep! I love salads. All sorts. They’re all good to me so they all deserve 5⁄5. It’s your classic Caesar with an addition of a chopped egg. — Lobster and Crab Bisque(4⁄5): A tad bit too salty. It was definitely creamy, rich, crabby and lobstery. You can taste it all. It’s not the best I’ve ever had but certainly one of. — Salmon(3⁄5): It was a bit under seasoned but a sprinkle of salt did the trick. I substituted the cannellini beans for risotto without any problems & it was delicious! — Black Magic Cake(3⁄5): Way too much chocolate for me. Definitely needed a glass of milk to wash down the heavy flavor, but that’s just me. Lol, the cake itself was moist! — Sorbet(5⁄5): AMAZING. Such a refreshing dessert to cleanse the pallet.

First time visiting was during HRW. The bartenders and staff were amazingly nice and accommodating. The food selections were delicious! I definitely plan on revisiting!

Overall: I haven’t been in a worse expensive restaurant. I’d give it a negative star but one star is as low as Unilocal goes. This place was chosen by our company to host a party this December 2015. First, I’d like to say that parking and location are abysmal. It took me 15 minutes to get to the valet(no other parking options available) and because the valet was hard to get to I had to park at the public parking across the street. The place is clean and ultra fashionably decorated, which I guess could warrant it a one star. It has several levels(I believe 3) and the customer’s food rides up with the customers. What I mean is that you can expect your food tray to take a trip with up to 10 – 12 sneezing and coughing patrons, all squeezing in one elevator along with a food cart. This is what I observed coming up to our party. The menu was soup(bisque), salmon with family size mashed potatoes and asparagus, and a choice of a cheese cake or chocolate cake. The bisque was served cold and tasted bland. The salmon was bland and had a rubbery texture. The failed to provide lemon even upon request. The asparagus was under cooked and very old because it looked like the chef had taken rotten chunks out of the stems and peeled it to conceal the fact. The waitress proceeded to dump my old glass of wine into the new one which considering the exclusivity of the place was barf-inducing. I requested the dessert to go after noticing my co-worker’s face of disqust when she tried hers. The piece I was given was of a lilliputian proportion. The size of the cheesecake dessert was 2×3×1 inches and looks like a dog’s turd(taste was OK). I’m including a picture with the«dessert» and a pen next to it for size, in case people don’t believe me. As far as I am concerned, I will never step foot in this place and I am honestly baffled at how such horrendous restaurants stay open in such upscale neighborhoods..

They were able to accommodate a large group of us, however the overall service was extremely poor. Our drink orders did not come out at the same time and we had to wait over 20 mins to get drinks at the table. We were seated at the table for over an hour before we put our food order in. Luckily, the company was good and we had some drinks before we got there to make the experience tolerable. The place tries to be fancy and classy but it is anything but because of the service.

A+ to Mr. Peeples on accommodating our large group of 20 people on a last minute phone call. We had a reservation at a nearby restaurant(will keep the name to myself since they’re new), but when our party grew from 15 to 20 they mentioned they couldn’t seat us all together. Ugggh no thanks :-| As always, the place looked presentable — fast valet($ 5), doormen to greet you, cute DJ and friendly bartenders at the front lounge. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. Our waiter, Jason was good. He started off a bit condescending, but quickly changed once I asked for his name. I hope everyone enjoys the food pics — I took a variety since we were a large group and all had different orders.

We visited Mr. Peeples during Houston Restaurant Weeks. It has the exotic and energizing aura and luxury of a high-end Vegas restaurant with the hospitality and true southern charm you only find in Houston. The food is delicious and gorgeous and according to my girlfriend it was the best steak she’s ever had. Perfect date night!

Went to Mr. Peeples again today(twice in one week) due to bridal party related stuff again. This time I was there for brunch. brunch has a buffet set up with a wide variety of food: crab cakes, sausage, eggs, smoked salmon, tilapia, fried chicken breast, lamb, pork chops, jumbo cocktail shrimp, potatoes, creamy polenta, waffles, Mac and cheese, omelets, pasta, steamed assorted veggies, fresh fruit, caprese salad, Caesar salad, and an extensive dessert bar(bread pudding, crème brûlée, pecan and chip tarts, etc.). It was pricey at $ 45 a head and did not include drinks. We paid $ 12 for bottomless mimosas. The food was super fresh and tasty. They lose a star because the online menu claimed they had a omelet bar and that was not the case… you could not chose what went into your omelet, you could only chose from 3 types of omelets that were Made back in the kitchen and brought out. Also the online menu makes it seem as if drinks are included… which would make this buffet well worth $ 45…but this is not the case. Food was very fresh and tasty and I left with a happy stomach… and slightly«buzzed.» Moved you guys up to 4 stars.

The customer service was outstanding! Server and Manager came by several times to make sure everything was good! The food was to die for! I had the shrimp with risotto sub chicken! Amazing! Dessert was white chocolate bread pudding! Let’s just say I’m very satisfied!

Mr Peeples food is pretty good. Wouldn’t go as far to say excellent, but the atmosphere is what really makes this place. If you are looking for a place to have some drinks with a group and cut up a little bit this place is for you. If you are trying to do something a little more romantic, keep it moving. They have DJ on the main floor playing very loud music, we could barely hear the waiter. Bottom line… Good party atmosphere and a lot of fun. Pretty good food. Worth the money.

Overall I liked the place. It was very pack and reservations ran 30mins past scheduled time. Which wouldn’t have been so bad if there indoor seating available… but it wasn’t and we were forced too sit in 96 degree weather at 8pm. Definitely a con. A couple of parties were upset. Other wise, the food was good. We lamb chops, crab cake, surf and turf, and cheesecake to finish it off. Valet is required and complimentary. Will return and hope we won’t have the same waiting problem.

I came here Wednesday for restaurant weeks. Yes it is trendy and the décor is a bit over the top but the food was actually really good. For the four course restaurant weeks menu, I had the crab cakes, goat cheese salad, filet, and cheesecake. Everything was really good. The only thing I didn’t like was the cheesecake. It wasn’t sweet enough for me but I was too full to eat it anyways. Other people in my party had the ribs, salmon, Caesar salad, and crab bisque. Everyone liked everything. Service started off really bad but gradually got better towards the end.

I went to a friends’ birthday celebration here, and this place is very nice and trendy. The wait staff is great, and the décor is really nice. It’s in a trendy spot in the city, so you can network with some cool people while eating here. You can have a nice dinner on the inside, or hang out on the patio on the outside. You can valet your car, but if you don’t want to do that you can find a meter spot on the street. The food is good, and the wait staff is professional. Immediately upon enter this place, you are greeted in a friendly way. It’s a cute place, that can be a lot of fun with the right people. Check it out!

This place is sensory overload for me. There was so much going on at one time. There were DJs, belly dancers, hookah setups, wobbly patios, bars, and a nice sized restaurant. I ordered the street car to drink and it was «Ok». I also ordered the lobster bisque which tasted pretty good. I didn’t dance, but I enjoyed the variety of music played inside and outside. The restroom was clean and security was heavily in effect. I was not a fan of the wavy deck on the patio. It was rough trying to walk back and forth in heels, but luckily I didn’t do the fool and fall!

I went for a birthday dinner yesterday around 8 pm. It was first time at this place. As I’m reading the previous reviews, I’m glad my experience was complete opposite. The good: The food was very tasty. I got the shrimp lemon pasta. It was cooked perfectly. Very zesty and flavorful. For dessert we shared a bread pudding which was way better than Ruggles(I know some compare it to that). It had more of a vanilla bean taste. The décor is lovely. Very fancy, very posh. They have a dj playing house music so it doesn’t feel like you are in a restaurant. The customer service from our waiter was spot on. We were a party of 4 and he gave us attention as if we were a larger party.(There was actually a party of almost 20 people next to us) He was receptive to questions. And always smiling and joking around. We even had one waiter come to our table and do 5 minutes of a simple magic show for the birthday girl. If you go ask for the magician! It’s pretty neat. The bad: The place is very upscale and so you pay for it. The prices per plate start off at $ 18. The appetizers are just as expensive as the entrees which didn’t make any sense to me. You pretty much have to valet which is $ 8. The place is a little loud because of the music so keep that in mind. The hostess is not as friendly as she needs to be. She seemed upset to be at work. All in all, would I return? Yes, if it was a special occasion seeing as to how it’s a little pricy at the end. I’d definitely come for a celebration of some sort.

A friend and I went for Restaurant week last week, and if it was on food alone? 5’s all round. If it was for the lady who serves water and the guy who brought our food? 5’s all round. The hostess and our server, however? 3’s generous. We walked in off the street, with my baby, so we clearly aren’t downtown business folk, decked out in business clobber. We are in capris. And — if you’d asked any of the peeps in their business garb which they’d rather be wearing, we all know the answer there The hostess immediately sneered down her nose at us, asked if we had a reservation and was clearly judgy. Our server was no better, and he was bordering on rude. We thought it was our«regular people» selves til we heard him being brusque and rude to other tables. Food was immense, roasted poblano pepper soup blew my mind, pork chop and Mac and cheese cooked to perfection and the portion was big enough to take home leftovers, and my black magic chocolate cake was DELISH — I’m told my friends mushroom risotto and carrot cake Twinkie was to die for also. But, for me, experience overall is how I judge a place. We were made to feel uncomfortable and rushed, and just didn’t appreciate the treatment!

VERYDISAPPOINTING. All the hype for nothing. Probably good for drinks only — food was not great at all. They have a great patio area so I might come back when it’s cooler outside for HH only. It was almost liking walking into a New Orleans casino with the masquerade theme going on. The restaurant was pretty empty for HRW although it was a Tuesday evening(every other restaurant I’ve been to for HRW has been pretty busy no matter what day of the week). I ordered the following: — Crab Cakes(Should be crab cake and not cakes because it was ONE small crab CAKE.) — Lobster and Crab Bisque(Too much cream which took away flavors from the actual lobster and crab meat.) — Tenderloin Beef Filet(Great texture and cooked perfectly but I wasn’t a fan of the sauce it was doused in.) — Carrot Cake«Twinkie»(This was the only thing I enjoyed. A little on the dry side but it was better than everything else I had all night.) The only course I finished was the crab cake because it was literally 3 bites. Everything else was only half eaten and if you know me, I will clean plate if it’s good. I also had a taste of my friends’ dishes… — Crispy Spring Rolls(ummm… these are actually egg rolls if they’re fried… Hello!) — Bourbon Glazed Baby Back Ribs(definitely very tender but the flavor was mediocre. Nothing special here.) — Pistachio Chicken(Lacked flavor. Pretty bland.) — Strawberry Cheesecake and Black Magic Cake were both delicious. Money wasted but I got to spend time with quality people so my evening turned out quite alright anyway.
