I booked this hotel with breakfast and wifi package. Breakfast buffet was good and one chef is cooking what ever your order right there. My husband and I would of pay $ 39.00 for two breakfast buffet and $ 9.50 for wifi if I didn’t purchase package. The package was like $ 20 more dollars added to your room rate. Bar: the bar was like any other hotel bar. My cape cod was $ 10, screwdriver $ 10. Pricy and bartender was not happy with his /her job. Come on, if you want customer to drink more, smile and talk to customer . Overall breakfast area staff was very nice and attentive. House keeper is also nice . Hotel is very old and need major update and hallway smelled like animal shelter !!! But balcony is nice . I don’t know if I will stay again or not …

Was given a flyer by the hotel at check in, and it looked cool. The flyer advertised«craft beer». Well, if by craft beer they mean Coors light, Bud Light, Shiner or Corona… Then ok, cuz that’s what they had. The place has a lame hotel breakfast bar atmosphere, and was dead. The poorly mannered beer-tender charged me $ 6 for a Coors light. It was a waste of an elevator ride, and I’d never go back. Go anywhere else. This place defines suck.

Mckinley’s is located in the Doubletree Suites next to the Galleria and is our preferred choice while visiting Houston. So the last time I booked the suite here I had some kind of coupon that gave us free parking and breakfast every morning. We’ve had the morning buffet before without issue on most of our visits. Frankly, we wouldn’t normally pay for this sort of grub. A previous visit we were given certificates after we had some climate control issues in the room. Another visit, well I don’t remember. Yes, this is me arguing and giving a free breakfast two stars. Our first morning the food was ample with the serving dishes full of grub. The food was your average hotel grub. The next morning, everything was empty. Twenty minutes into our visit and still nothing on the hot side of the line. I managed with a bagel(that got stuck in the machine) and a few cold cuts. The price if you paid for this load of average is $ 18.75! The waitstaff was nice trying to accommodate hungry patrons, but the kitchen dropped the ball in making us wait to refill the sterno powered morsels. BTW, as advice for those who visit and have transportation the Le Peep just down the road about a half mile on the left has the best granola almond pancakes in the world. Venture a few more miles and a freeway ride and you end up at the Breakfast Klub for some soul cooking. Not sure I’d do the package deal again. Sometimes free isn’t worth it.

Quality food & good service for a hotel. This could easily be a destination restaurant. Steaks, seafood, burgers — they will pretty much make what you want. Prices are reasonable. If your near the Galleria — check it out.
