We tried the restaurant because it had good reviews. We were not disappointed. It was kinda strange with this Mexican and Mediterranean fusion, but it worked very well. I had the kabob plate and it is one of the best I ever had. Will definitely come back next I am in Houston.

Best burgers I’ve ever had. The meat is so flavorful and ridiculously juicy! I had the loaded double double and the habanero burger. Also, the prices are unbeatable. I’m going to Houston on Monday and I’m definitely looking forward to trying their breakfast burger. Anyone have any recommendations for other menu items? The carne asada burrito looks good too, but I’ve never tried it before

Love this place. Best part is that the place is just 5 mins drive from my place so I go there quite often. Place is almost always packed. I especially like the Mango Habanero burger. Their other burgers are good too. The buffalo chicken shawarma is also among my favorites. They serve other Mediterranean and Mexican dishes too. This is a no frills non fancy place. Don’t go here if you are looking for service, ambience, décor or things like these. Go here simply for the food experience!

Mexican & Mediterranean Grill. What a concept! And then they also have burgers which are neither Mexican nor Mediterranean. Awesomesauce! M&M Grill is obviously located close to the Medical Center but out of the way for me. That’s why this restaurant had lived on my bookmark for the longest of time. My Unilocal friends rave about it. The reviews rave about it. It just made me wonder what the fuss was all about. So, one sunny day during Memorial holiday, after I had helped out my sister move out from her dorm room at the University of Houston, I decided to finally give this place a call. First impression I had of this place didn’t happen when I walked in here. It was actually when I gave them a call to check whether or not this place was open. It was, after all, Memorial Day holiday. The phone rang twice before a lady picked up and answered, «can you hold?» and then immediately put me on hold before I could even answer. At this time, I knew that they were open, but I wanted to make sure that they weren’t going to close early since some places would change their operating hours on holidays. So, here I was on hold and I could hear the loud background of her taking order after order before finally getting back to the phone so I could have a quick 30 seconds conversation with her. The time I was put on hold? About six or seven minutes. Yep, I wasn’t too happy about that. Anyway, I made my way over here only to realize that this restaurant was a lot smaller than what I had in mind. A really tiny parking lot with minimal parking spaces. A lot of cars were parked across the street on the side of the street. I came in the afternoon when it was way past lunch time and the place was packed. I recommend that you don’t bother with the private lot and just park across the street if you come here during lunch time. It will save you the hassle from having to back out from the lot. Me and my sister walked in, took a quick look at the menu, and ordered. I decided to go with the Loaded Double Swiss Mushroom Burger with bacon, and my sister ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger. I did ask the cashier about the size of the patty and she said they were quarter pounders. So, two patties would give you a half lb of meat. I also ordered a large curly fries to share between me and my sister. Our total for our meals? About half of what we had spent at Pappas the day before. One thing that annoyed me during ordering? There’s not really a whole lot of room there so when they call out food and put it out next to the cashier, people would just come up behind me and reach to get their food. All up in my personal bubble, yo! Like bruh, just wait a bit or ask me to move and I’ll move out of the way. Seriously! The order took about 10 minutes to prepare. Someone will yell out the number on your receipt and bring out the food, and you go ahead and grab them. The burgers are delicious, but I thought it was a little too dry. On the receipt, there was a note that the burgers were to be cooked«medium well». And that is why my burger was kind of dry. Had I known that they would be willing to cook my burger to my liking(medium or medium rare), then I definitely would have asked. However, the cashier didn’t ask about that and I completely forgot to ask. Oh well. Back to the burger, it was delicious but not as juicy as I would have liked it due to the reason above. The double was the perfect size for me. Had I ordered a single, I think I wouldn’t have been satisfied so I recommend that you do the same. Although to be fair, my sister wasn’t able to finish her burger. The curly fries were nothing special. I honestly thought it just tasted like one of those frozen curly fries that you could easily make at home. All in all, I had an okay experience. The burger was definitely the saving grace even though it was a little overcooked to my liking; it was still delicious. Their service is nothing to brag about considering how I was put on hold forever, and no real hospitality when I was ordering. I’d come back if I were in the area, but I definitely wouldn’t go out of my way just to come here.

What more can I say? Everyone has said it already. This place is a gem. How rare is it to find a place that serves Mexican, Mediterranean, and burgers? Pretty rare. Now, how rare do you think it is to find a place that serves AMAZING Mexican, AMAZING Mediterranean, and AMAZING burgers? Yeah, exactly. You literally cannot go wrong coming here, because the options are seemingly endless. No matter what you or your other party members are craving, you will all end up being satisfied. The only other thing I can add to the sea of reviews that are probably just like mine are my own personal recommendations: 1) single or double loaded burger: you’d think a burger with that much going on(fried jalapeños, fried onions, etc) would be too overwhelming, but somehow it manages to remain balanced and beautifully crafted. A must try. 2) grilled chicken sandwich: many people don’t know about this one. Normally I only opt for a grilled chicken sandwich if I’m trying to be healthy, and while this one might be healthier than a burger… It’s not«diet» food. It’s a damn good sandwich. It’s cheesey, mayo-ey, and big. I would highly recommend this to anyone that doesn’t eat beef or simply just wants a change of pace. 3) blooming onion — it’s massive and a dirty, guilty mess. But I loved splitting it with 2 others. Definitely worth trying if you are a fan of blooming onions, they do it expertly and serve it with disgustingly good ranch. 4) chili cheese fries: yes, yes, yes. All things good in life. Cheap and enormous portion size. A perfect addition to your meal if you feel like going all out. 5) the medi food is all good too, I can’t actually remember the options but I know at some point I’ve tried the kebab plate and the plate with strips of meat on it. Both were great, and these plates by far do feel healthier. So opt for these if you really don’t wanna bust through your diet. Will I come back? Duh. For as long as this place exists I will keep it on my regular Houston restaurant list. Everyone in the area should be aware of this place. Now my only fear is they will get too successful and open up more chains and screw everything up. God help us all if that day ever comes.

Was visiting Houston to attend an Astros/Red Sox game. I was headed to the airport and thought I’d visit Whataburger before heading to the airport, but thought… hmmm…look up a local burger joint and find the one with the highest rating, order a «safe» basic cheeseburger and fries, then head to the airport and eat it. My fault for not eating the fries quickly because I didn’t eat them until I actually got to the terminal, so I’m leaving this part out of the review. Anyways, I took one bite of the burger and thought… wow…this is actually really tasty, but then thought wait… where is the burger patty? I could swear I was eating ground beef mixed with the sauces, but there was no discernable burger patty. I immediately cut into the middle and there really was no burger patty! I tasted beef, but no patty! I’m sure, if I actually got the burger patty, the rating would be higher. I did like the sauce in that burger. Well crap… I’m already at the airport. Guess I’m SOL. Oh, and the 2 ladies who helped were not very friendly.

Well we tried the loaded single cheeseburger with fries and it was delicious($ 8.45) Very Flavorful and HUGEBURGER. There was kind of an overpowering taste of garlic I think and a lot of sauces oozing out between the gigantic bun. The fries were perfectly seasoned. Every order I watched come over the counter looked delicious.

I went here the other day to grab some food to go for my boyfriend and I. I ordered the Swiss burger, and shwarma. It was the first time tasting a schwarma, and I liked it. The swiss burger was amazing. The only thing is that their parking lot is a bit small so people park near the median and cross the street. No complaints though, I will definitely return.

M & M grill you get me so good! This place is a hole in the wall on Almeda and OST. If you pass the cars parked on the grass in the median, you’ve gone too far. We went to this place at 930PM on a Saturday. Everything else was closed and I thought a burger joint would probably be desolated. WRONG! it was jumpin. We were lucky enough to grab a table as a group was leaving. If you are you looking for anything semi healthy, you’re in the wrong restaurant. Seeing Mediterranean, American, and Mexican made me confused but it was great! The cashier recommended the beef chimichanga and the loaded double burger. Things Tried here: Loaded Double Cheeseburger-5 stars! this is the bees knees! It comes with fried jalapeños and onion strings and a bunch of goodness. It’s delicious. If you are alone, I suggest the single or split with someone! Beef chimichanga– 3 stars– it was good, and it had a enchilada sauce that reminded me of a Mexican place I went to as a kid. It comes with a lot of rice and beans that were in little compartments inside(not mixed). Not my fav but still good. Can’t wait to go back!

I’ve been here multiple times since my previous review and but raise to 5 stars, it’s just awesome. Other foods of note: Chicken/Beef mix shawarma — You don’t have to pick just one meat! So good and tasty, their bread is great! Loaded Double Cheeseburger — I don’t even know what all is on this bad boy, but it was delicious, even as leftovers! Very hefty! Fried onion and jalapeño strips — Mandatory! You get a impressive pile of breaded fried goodness. Dip a wad in ranch dressing and you’re in heaven. Speaking of ranch. They give you ranch without trying to charge or bitch about it. That is nice! Free drink refills, their coke zero seemed extra delicious for some reason. Great great place! Hard to decide to try anything new if I’m near it!

This place is fantastic! I had the loaded single cheeseburger(fries & drink), the boyfriend had the single cheeseburger(fries & drink). It’s a tiny joint and it gets packed full of people. We placed our orders to go. I really love the fried onions and jalapenos they put in the loaded cheeseburger, they also put this nice garlicky sauce and wow, just amazing. The flavor profile is on point! It can be just a tad soggy, but that could be because we didn’t eat at the restaurant. The portions are great, and the price is as well. I can’t wait to try their other menu items!

M & M grill is in the heart of medical center situated on almeda close to holcombe. While the location may seem like a whole in the wall, The menu features a lot of items which taste delicious. My favorite burger is the mango habernero and the mushroom burger. They also serve shawarma and Mexican cuisine plates. Gyros sandwich is pretty good too. Also they have pretty tasty fries, golden and crisp. It can get very crowded during lunch hours so please be patient. For those customers who work in the area and visit during lunch, my suggestion is to call in your order to preserve time. Since the place is small in size, seating may also become an issue and when the restaurant is full, it’s very hard to find a place to sit. There is also a small convenient store next door that sells mediterranean grocery items. Also parking can be done right by the side of the road.

This was a delicious surprise Unilocalers. Thank you for not steering me wrong. My lunch compadre had the burger and I had shawarma. He enjoyed his and I certainly enjoyed mine.

I’m giving a 1 star for poor customer service. I got the shawarma platter which is more expensive than the sandwich but rather than giving me more meat they gave me more rice. I had gotten this in the past and I got a lot more meat. When I went up the people working the cashier dismissed me and said this amount of meat is normal. Also my cousin got the wrong burger but because of my experience she didn’t bother trying to complain. My other cousin got his order a good 20 minutes after the rest of the people in his family who were on the same ticket. They have really started skimping. The food is disappointing, the location is crowded and dirty, they are still slow, and most importantly the service sucks. There’s really no reason for me to come anymore.

My coworkers and I frequented M&M at least once a week for lunch when I worked in the area. It is a little hidden gem right across the street from the VA. Parking is tight around lunchtime, so you may have to park across the street on the median of Almeda. They share a building with a small store. The restaurant itself is small and quaint, with minimal seating, but there is always seating available(at least when I have gone). There is a good little variety of different types of cuisine such as Mediterranean, Mexican and American. My go to items are the burgers and the shawarma. The burgers are ridiculously good! I get the loaded burger which is just that… loaded. They have everything on it except the kitchen sink. All the flavors compliment each other and tastes delicious. I made the mistake of ordering the Loaded Double Cheeseburger on my lunch break, and let me tell you, I was no good to the world after that. Since then, I always go with the single. The shawarma is on point as well. I always go with the beef. They do not skimp on it, and every bite is a meaty! The garlic and tahini sauce really make the wrap though. I always ask for a little spice, and whatever hot sauce they use is really nice and spicy. The fries are always piping hot and seasoned to perfection. I like those two items so much, I haven’t really ventured out and tried anything else. You wouldn’t really expect an awesome burger out of this place, but I can honestly say its one of the better burger and fry combos I’ve had around. Go check it out!

Been noticing my friends checking in here and as curious as I was, I just had to check out the Unilocal page myself. I finally got to try out the place with an out of town friend and let me tell you, I’m hooked. First thing, don’t be scared to walk in this small establishment. It’s usually pretty packed with people ordering food. My friend and I came in around noon and people were flowing in. There’s barely any parking, so we parked on the gravel lot across. I do not like burgers. I’m not a burger person, but for some odd reason, I was craving burgers. And you know what, M&M Grill was the first thing that popped in my mind. I ordered a loaded double cheeseburger. Big mistake. ITWASHUGE. They lady at the counter asked if I wanted fries with that, and thank goodness I didn’t get fries. I should’ve just gotten the single patty. Friend got the beef chimichanga. Can I just say, that I WASSOHAPPYTOBEEATING A BURGER!!! Maybe the fried onions and fried jalepenos made a difference, because I freaking loved the burger. I couldn’t eat the whole thing, but I ate most of it. My friend’s chimichanga was HUGE too. You can tell everything is fresh because you can literally see the workers make fresh toppings and cook behind the counter. Food is very cheap and portions are huge.
