Last night I stopped by for the grilled fish and vegetables for $ 13.99. The chips and salsa arrived quickly with my drink. The chips and both salsas were good(3). The entrée arrived about 15 minutes later with tortilla soup. I thought the entrée was a(3.5). The soup was good along with the fish and veggies. Nicely seasoned and I would order it again for an healthy entrée. My table service was good too(3.5). I have eaten here a few times but not often ask I don’t live in the area. In my mind this is one of the better Los Cucos in the Houston area and I would not hesitate to return. It is large with an attractive bar area separating both sides of the restaurant. Parking was convenient too. Los Cucos does a good job as a chain in providing Tex Mex to its diners.

This is my place for«girls night out». Margaritas are half price on Mon and Tue and everything I have tried, I have liked! Food is always fresh!

My family had a terrible experience today eating at this Los cocos. They were crowded as always but today It took 15 minutes to place our order and over thirty minutes to get our food. I complained to the manager and he didn’t care. His attitude was that they were having problems in the kitchen and they have been getting lots of complaints. End of story. Once we got our food it was not up to standards. The chili con queso was cold and the fajita meat was salty. And fatty. Will not be coming back after this experience.

This place is so good! It’s a little loud if your near the karaōke but the food is off the chain and the portions are huge. The most flavorful meat I’ve tasted at a Mexican joint. It’s a bit pricey but the food is delicious. I love the tortillas and los cucos sauce. Yummy!

very disappointed on everything– they claim to take reservations but they don’t write them down, called 2 weeks in advance & again the day of our family event and they didn’t have our reservation & sat us in the opposite area I asked for-service was not good, food was cold & never even brought part of my order– gave one basket of chips for a table of 12– tried to tell the lady at the front & she didn’t care– wont be going back

Food is bad and service is crap. The grilled chicken came out cold. Not uncooked cold but cold from refrigerator. They waiter was upset that we complained. The manager really did not care. He offered to have the chicken recooked, not a new plate. I don’t know how you would recook without burning the sauce and cheese on top of the chicken. Not going back.

So this will be an update review. I want to only give them one star but their past service and food quality is still in my head so I gave them two. It seems that for the last 5 years the food quality has been going down hill. I remember I used to love their green salsa so much I would want to drink and now it is spicy. For me that’s great, however the green salsa was what everyone who didn’t like spicy would eat now they can’t eat that. The red salsa still is a little spicy however it taste like they burn all the peppers. Its not smoke its a burnt flavor I know the difference and it does not taste good, I even tried pouring sugar in the salsa to try and live in it up and it didn’t help much. As for the food one thing is obvious it’s extremely overpriced. Mexican food doesn’t taste this much, unless you’re at pappasitos. This is not Pappasito’s, it also doesn’t even taste that good the last couple times I’ve had crunchy tacos, beef enchiladas, beef chimichanga, and nachos. I have been disappointed every time I have eaten and left. I’m not going to be going back here anytime soon there’s far better tasting food just down the street for about $ 2 a plate less.

Food is good, service isn’t the best. Waitresses and waiters have a whole lot of time to chat it up instead of wait on tables.

Really gone downhill: This place used to have some awesome Tex Mex but now they are veryyyy average. It’s not just that other places have moved in like Lupe Tortilla and the place at Vintage Park. The meat is usually over cooked and chewy and everything looks and tastes rushed. Service is hit or miss now Not a place I look forward to going to anymore

I’ve been eating at this Los Cucos for 14 years and it’s still my favorite Mexican restaurant! The manager Nico is fantastic, and he always hooks me up with vegan food here. Their vegetable fajitas, flour tortillas, guacamole, and black beans are delicious! Also, their margaritas are strong and taste fresh.

I go here specifically for the quesadilla! Don’t get me wrong — I enjoy other dishes on the menu(ceviche, guac, rice, charros, etc…) but my first love is a phenomenally prepared chicken quesadilla… They nailed it in my book! I L.O.V.E. this place and the food that it serves. The vibe is good and the atmosphere is desirable. I always seem to get great service and love the patio… especially in the evening! Parking isn’t always easy to find, but hey — that should tell you a lot about the establishment! ;)

My fiancée and I had the pleasure of coming here on one of their karaōke nights! Lol, it’s definitely the most fun him and I have had during one of our dinners, just people watching. Anyway, their food was decent, normal chips and salsa, we also got their queso salsa, which wasn’t anything too special. For my entrée I ordered the two fish tacos plate which comes with the tacos, rice, and a black bean soup. The corn tortillas were handmade and fresh, that you can definitely tell, the cabbage on top of the taco seemed a bit much; it hid the flavor of the fish which had been delicious just on it’s own! The rice it came with was pretty good, it had corn and cilantro in it. The black bean soup had a lot of flavor in it, which I really enjoyed. Overall, the restaurant is alright, their food is good, and their staff is pretty awesome.(We had a really great server, I believe his name was Steven!) they were super friendly and polite, just the way they spoke to us and their mannerisms kind of blew us away to be honest. If I were to go back it would probably be just to enjoy the entertainment lol, not the worst restaurant I’ve been to though.

Such a disappointment today here at los Cucos.(To-go order) Food was cold, forgot queso which my husband had to go back for, guac was brown, forgot corn tortillas, vegetables were way undercooked. Was told it would take 20 minutes for to go and took 35 minutes all together, and to top it off horrible customer service.

The food here is almost always fantastic, meats are done really well. Great queso. Margaritas aren’t much to write home about. Service is hit-and-miss, half the servers are great, half are not. I highly recommend the place just for the food. Great«A la carte» menu selection.

This place is definitely one I can always come back to and the food is always delicious. Their chips and dips are great. The chips are actually thick and not that thin stuff that break at the touch. Their red salsa comes out warm, has a nice chipotle hint and not full of chunks of onion — super addicting. Their green sauce is cold and non spicy(great for kids) — creamy tomatillo cilantro lime sauce. Family usually goes and we order the Parrilla San Luis to split among the adults(3) and the kids order the quesadillas or fried shrimp from the kids meal. We definitely walk away stuffed. I’m not a big fan of refried beans but I will destroy the beans from here.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. The fish tacos are my favorite, but we’ve never had anything bad. The stuffed avocado is sinfully delicious. They serve two awesome salsas with their chips, one tomatillo and one sort of mesquite chipotle. It’s a large restaurant. Can be a bit loud at times, especially on karaōke night.

My husband loves Mexican food. I like coming here because I like their flour tortilla. So, my husband and I made a deal. We worked out before coming to eat Mexican. He usually gets the La Bonita and I tend to get the Tacos Los Cucos which is just flour tortilla with marinated steak fajitas inside of it with a side of queso that I would tend to drizzle all over my tacos. Yes! Can you say fattening but so good. But this time, I only order the A la carte —(1) taco with steak fajita. It didn’t have the cheese but did have the tomato and cilantro with onions. It was perfect. My husband ate his La Bonita and I had only 1 taco. It felt that I was cheating on my diet but it wasn’t something that I would so regret at night. The food was good and on point. Although, the only reason why i’m giving it a 3 star is because of the customer service. I think our waiter was not satisfy with what I order hence he wanted a large tip. My husband’s ice tea needed refills and he was no where to be found. So yeah… we’ve came here twice and haven’t received great service. Not sure why though.

Excellent food — very crowded at times — but this Wednesday evening was not bad at all. Ordered Melly’s Salad — grilled salmon salad — very good. Have had beef & chicken fajitas in the past — also very good. Service very good. It is a noisy place! When the Karaōke is on — sound goes up to 90+db! And we were in the other room!

Not all Los Cucos are created equal in case you didn’t know. So much better than The Woodlands Los Cucos. Bigger menu and better quality! I had been at this location about a year and a half ago and had one of the best meals of my life. Anyway they have changed the menu and it was no where to be found. Anyway I ordered the beef Poblano fajitas with a creamy poblano sauce. It came out on an extremely hot cast iron griddle. My beef fajitas got a nice browning with much flavor. I actually scraped the creamy poblano sauce on to the cast iron griddle to pick up the beefy char flavor — yum! The rice even extra sizzled and got crispy but tasted good. The beef initially kind of tasted like like a commercial fajita meat but after sizzling away with the poblano sauce it was actually pretty good. I received a side of fresh guacamole and picante. The flour tortillas were huge. I also received decent borracho beans. There was enough beef fajitas for a complete meal for hubby. Overall large clean Los Cucos with good service. If you have a group check out the last page of their menu. Sure to please :)
