Chris is fantastic! He’s come over to our place twice now and in addition to being skilled in his line of work, he is also an all-​around cool guy. Very laid back while still being professional and extremely honest— he will not recommend work unless it actually needs to be done. He patched up our fireplace for an extremely reasonable amount and it only took about 20 minutes. Afterwards, we went out to eat based on a recommendation he had given us. He’s local to Montrose (as are we) so basically it just felt like we were meeting one of our neighbors. Great experience, he will be our go to person from now on.

This guy does NOT use the proper tools. He needs to use a vacuum so all the soot in the chimney does not fall into the house.
He basically took all the chimney buildup and redistributed it throughout the house, it took days of cleaning just to clean up his mess. There were particles everywhere! I was frozen in shock as he proceeded to pull out all the light dust and get it all over the floors, walls & counters as it flew around due him not using a vacuum to capture the dust at the chimney.
Make sure you find someone who knows how to do a clean job. Pay more if you have to, because you’ll end up cursing yourself for the mess this guy makes.

Chris knows chimneys. I had him come out to look at my gas fireplace because it was giving us headaches (literally). He put down drop cloths around the fireplace and checked for blockages. He also told me that my firebox and chimney were adequate for wood-​burning and gave me tips on how to properly convert it. This guy knows his trade and is super courteous!

I had called about 6 other companies to clean the chimney of our 1935 house, and just about all of them indicated backlog, one of which was 3 weeks. I called London Sweeps and a british voice answered me on the greeting, and I figured it was just a marketing gimmick… Nope, the guy (it’s a one man operation) is a british dude, and he’s nice, reliable (showed up a minute early), and honest (told me I probably wouldn’t need another cleaning for about 3 years).
Now, if only ALL services in Houston were this good, we could get somewhere… This city seems to have a rash of dishonest people and sheisters… Luckily, London Sweeps was neither.
Oh, and they were about ½ to 1⁄3 of the price of the competition…
