Dr. Varkey is excellent. She is patient, friendly and certainly committed to the well-​being of her patients. She’s located right below the Esperson building, which is super convenient if you work downtown. I was in and out in less than an hour. Her staff is very friendly and incredibly accommodating. Prices are fair — I don’t have vision insurance, but they offer a 20 percent discount for the exam and purchases. I am very, very pleased and I will certainly be back.

Dr Varkey is an excellent optometrist and I would highly recommend. She is thorough, taking the time to explain what she’s looking for in her exam and any issues that may be present. Her attention to detail and sincere interest in her patient’s eye care health is evident the moment you sit in her chair. I also appreciated her patience — picking between the clarity of option 1 vs option 2 can get confusing, and she was more than willing to wait to make sure I got it right.
I also appreciated the lack of surprise in the final bill. I have VSP eye insurance, and have walk into offices thinking their exam is fully covered when in reality there were tests being done I had no idea I was going to pay for later. Dr Varkey lets you know in advance of options and cost for additional testing. No surprises at the end — much appreciated!
I see myself coming back for my next annual checkup — she was great!
Tip — her office is downtown, and she can get you in and out in hour if you’re making an appointment during work hours. She’s located in the tunnel under the Esperson Building — past the smoothie king and some Chinese restaurant. I got a bit lost in the tunnels so you may want to ask for directions before making your way there.
