Wonderful! We also found Cristal and Cusquena down the street at Fiesta and brought it with us. No corkage either!

I’ve been to a few cities in Peru and the food at Lemon Tree is just as good. Their fresh made desserts are a must and dishes are delicious as well as generous. The service is slow, so expect to spend min an hour when not busy for a slow dining experience and another 30min when busy. Still, the friendly staff, great food and value make up for the slowness.

The food is delicious and well made! The Lemon Tree Tacu Tacu is my favorite… I’ve even learned how to make it!

One of the oldest and best Peruvian food restaurants in Houston. They have now opened a café next door that also serves the same menu as the restaurant. Service in the café is excellent. Order ceviche, lomo saltado, chupe de camarones — and everything else is good as well A must try restaurant in houston for Peruvian cuisine.

The food is really good. I always order the ceviche de pescado and the paella. The sauce for the chips is delicious. Service is not the fastest of the west. They get pack and have few servers.

I LOVE this place! I always get the: Pescado en Salsa de Camarones — it is $ 13.00(fried fish in a creamy shrimp sauce, served with white rice), and it is ABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS! Nice ambiance. Great service. Nice staff. :)

First time here with a friend today and I was absolutely floored with this place — it is simply amazing. I had the seafood ‘soup’ with rice — OMG — it was so good that I might have licked the plate a bit. It is located a little off the beaten path, but well worth it to find.

Excellent wait staff. Prompt service. Very elegant for the surrounding area. Hidden gem. Food is absolutely amazing and 100% authentic with the purple corn drink. Have to try everything on menu and civiche is a must each time.

I’m a regular at LT. Best Peruvian food in town. + BYOB. You can have an also have a nice cold Inca Cola, nicely paired with anything on the menu. Ceviche is cooked the way it’s supposed to — FRESH. NEVER over-lemoncooked as many other places. Fried calamari is made in house, not defrosted +fried. Hungry? go for the Se me cayó el Arroz. Dessert: Take your time to choose. Go look at it in the fridge where you stored your BYOB wine and beers. You may argue over dessert. I have their phone stored to call in advance to order takeout or make reservations. Expect a short wait during weekend nights. Yes it’s THAT good.

Was in the mood for some paella and came here after looking at some Unilocal reviews. Based on other Unilocalers recommendations we ordered the seafood paella and the lomo saltado. Both were very flavorful and satisfied our appetites. We also enjoyed the complementary chips and dip. I like how their tortilla chips aren’t salted and the dip has a nice kick to it. Their parking situation wasn’t the greatest though. We went on a Sunday and almost couldn’t find parking. There were a bunch of spots for other stores in the strip mall but all the unmarked ones were taken. Oddly enough, there weren’t that many people in the restaurant so we were seated and served relatively quickly.

My favorite Peruvian restaurant in Houston, although not as good as the ones I visited while living in LA. Prices are decent and taste is good enough for most Houstonians to not be able to discern a difference. Service has been really slow everytime I’ve been though… but it doesn’t stop me from returning I used a Groupon on my most recent visit and they let me use the full amount, even though the promotional period had ended, so 5 stars just for that. I typically order a ceviche and the lomo saltado. They can also custom prepare dishes if you don’t see exactly what you want on the menu.

OMG wow. This is a diamond in the rough. This is authentic South American restaurant. If you work in the energy corridor is an excellent pit stop for lunch bits a little more on the pricey side as most meals are in the $ 12 – 15 range. But, the seafood is fresh and excellent. The jalea was full of flavor(kinda tangy and tart). Don’t assume your waiters speak English. And teeny bit of Spanish will go a long way here.

Best Ceviche, choros a la chalaca, lomo Saltado, aji de Gallina! Best Peruvian restaurant in town! The service is great and the owner most the time comes to make sure everything is Ok. If you want to try traditional homemade peruvian food this is your place. We are faithful customers since we moved to Houston 6 years ago.

My first time to eat Puruvian food, and it was really good. The service was great and the food was family style. We had small kids with us and the staff was very nice and attentive. The décor is simple but cute, and it was funny that they had a DJ there(Friday night) and we left early but it appeared that there was a small dance floor, so staying would have been interesting to see if people actually dance. ;) We ate the ceviche(GOOD) and a kid type of plate(fries and sausage) and yuca for appetizer, so good. The dessert, I think it was called Yucima was really good, too. Also, BYOB with no corking fee… nice. We will be back!

It took me 15 min just to find the place. Fyi it’s right behind Ace flower shop @ the corner of Whittington and Dairy Ashford. and the cursive«lemon Tree» writing isn’t clear. Parking isn’t great. The lot is a packed so I had to park in the street. The place is small but the table décor is cute. The waitresses are nice and efficient. Byob. Live band on Friday’s. We came on Friday at 6:30pm. It got loud and packed at 8pm. Everyone knows everyone… Except for us! One bathroom. I had mussels, the potatoes with yellow sauce and the lomo saltodo or whatever it was called. The beef with the fries. All Very good. The mussels appetizer with corn is cooked but served chopped and cold, ceviche-like. The chips and green dip also very tasty. The only main negative was parking and location. Price was decent $ 9 – 15 per dish.

I have eaten at this place several times, and I cannot get enough of their ceviche. It is the freshest I have had in Houston. The food is flavors and quality is very consistent. The wait staff is always very friendly and attentive. My favorite dish is the traditional ceviche with Peruvian corn or choclo. I also like for starters the yuca and cheese balls with Huancaina sauce or the camarones al ajo. For the main course, I really enjoy the fish fillet in capers sauce, the seafood paella, or the rice dish with beef fillet and fried eggs on top, «se me cayo el arroz de lomo.» I order everything spicy, the spicy peppers they use are extremely tasteful, besides the nice heat provided. Overall, I really like this place, it is very close to having a home cooked meal. On Friday nights they have live music, which sometimes makes the whole crowd get up and dance. Also, remember to BYOB.

Perhaps Peruvian food just isn’t for me. However, I’d crawl through a field of rabid gophers for some excellent ceviche, and the claims of Lemon Tree offering some of the best ceviche in town drew me here. We ordered the sampling platter with four different kinds if ceviche. Before the plate even hit the table I got of whiff of an awful ocean smell. The kind of smell you’ll find at an old and rotting marina on a sweltering day in August. Something just smelled rank. Not fishy, not seafoody, but food poisoning shellfish stinky. This really put me off, but after examining the boyfriend for signs of illness after he claimed to smell nothing and dug in and seeing no impending trips to the ER for a saline drip in his future, I followed him down the ceviche rabbit hole. Turns out, it was the clams that was stinking up the place, but they tasted fine. I was impressed with the different flavors of each ceviche and would definitely order them again. They were large portions with wonderful flavors varying from lemony tang to creamy spice. Our entrees were really very bland in comparison. The boyfriend’s paella was chock full of seafood, but it amounted to little more than seafood fried rice. Bonus point for the whole baby octopus though. My spicy shrimp dish was just a bit off putting-shrimp smothered in a highlighter yellow tasteless cream sauce. Overall, it was not a bad place to try, but I doubt I will be returning.

The reason I held off on reviewing this place is because I want to like this place more than I do so I wanted to try it again before reviewing it but I don’t think that’s happening. I got the seafood paella, and I always imagined paella to be very full of flavor, but what I got had some flavor but not enough. It was fine, but not as amazing as I expected paella to taste. I think it’s because I like spicy things. I think I asked for spicy too and it wasn’t that spicy. Perhaps to someone who is not used to a lot spices and flavor would probably enjoy this more. Tres leches was pretty good though!
