I bought a Rivini sample gown from Ivory and the moment I walked out of the boutique, I had buyers remorse. Why? Because my wedding dress was a size 10 and I’m probably a size 4 in wedding gowns. I received 3 quotes and decided to go with Jenny. Everyone said that because of the silk and the amount of fabric that a higher end designer used, it would be very expensive. I had to take it in from the sides, the back, the length. She really worked with me and told me exactly what she would do. She took off several inches from both sides and the back and had to keep the ruching symmetrical. I had 3 fittings in all. I picked it up the day before my wedding and she even steamed my veil for me. She did mention how she could have custom made my gown for me too. It probably would have been much cheaper for the exact same design. Anyways, I loved it! Fit perfectly and the bustle never broke! :D

I would never go back to this place or recommend it to anyone who values their time. I made an appointment 5 days out only to arrive to her boutique at 10am and her completely surprised by my arrival. I happen to understand her bind and since I had a tight morning as well, it was better off we rescheduled. I came back a second time to a closed shop. Its 5:30 pm on a Tuesday, why are you closed? I then e-mail her while continuing to stand outside in hopes to some saving grace she just had stepped out for a moment. In her callous response to me she indicates I had the wrong time. Instead of apologizing for the SECOND time she has mis-scheduled herself, she instead remained careless and unaffected by the situation. Need I remind you, you have a business? Apparently she has enough to blow people off. For that reason I had to send my fiancé to pick up my gowns(3 to be exact) that I left behind to alter just in case her«hours» didn’t reflect what’s on her store window and I couldn’t get their in time after work. I have no desire to give her my business for the mere lack of remorse and diligence she shows to her customers. This lady needs to take a class on customer service and buy herself an appointment book. Good luck to ya.

I recently had my wedding dress made by Jenny Kim. I cannot even begin to tell you how beautiful my dress looked and how many compliments I received on my unique dress. I wanted a tea-length dress with a big, poofy tulle skirt and mesh short sleeve top. I worked with Jenny on the design and couldn’t believe how beautifully it turned out. I came in for several fittings(she was very flexible on times) which took only a few minutes at a time(this might differ if you have a difficult-to-fit gown). The dress turned out exactly as I had hoped(I’ve added a photo of it to Unilocal). If you’re looking for a custom dress or gown, Jenny is your lady. I really couldn’t have been more pleased with her results.

My wedding dress was 4 sizes too large and 5 inches too long. Jenny did a wonderful job getting my dress to a perfect fit. I arrived with an appointment and Jenny saw me right away. It took less than 15min at the store and I got my dress back in 2 weeks.

After purchasing a wedding dress out of state, just before moving to Houston, I was in a bit of distress trying to figure out who to trust for the fittings/alterations. I saw the reviews for Jenny Kim Couture on Unilocal and decided to try it out. I couldn’t be more pleased! Jenny’s(and her staff’s) skills are incredible, she was helpful with regards to deciding what alterations would be flattering, she was cost conscious, and flexible with scheduling appointments. I was equally impressed with her designs that are displayed throughout her shop. If my mother and mother in laws lived in state, I definitely would have encouraged them to seek out her expertise for their attire! I highly recommend Jenny Kim Couture!!!

From the beginning, I should of known she wouldn’t deliver or care about her customers. She had a terrible attitude since day 1. I hired her to make my flower girl dress, well after taking my flower girl to about 3 appointments, when the time came to pick up the dress, the dress was not ready. Not only was it not ready, but it wasn’t even made!!! And my wedding is in a few days. I totally complained to her and instead of her apologizing or to try to figure out a way to make the dress, she got upset and completely CANCELLEDMYORDER5DAYSBEFOREMYWEDDING. MEANING, SHELEFTMYFLOWERGIRLWITHOUT A DRESSFORTHEDAYOFTHEWEDDING!!! She didn’t care nor apologized for the mistake she made. I don’t understand how people like her stay in business. She’s a worthless human being!!!

Ms. Kim’s designs are lovely; she uses high-quality fabrics, and I was pleased with the final result. However, if your bridal party does not happen to live in Houston – this is really common sense and perhaps I should have thought of this first – you really might be better off with off-the-rack bridesmaid dresses from either a national chain or a boutique that can order the same gown in different sizes. She was happy to make the gowns very large because two of my bridesmaids could not travel to Houston for a final fitting. But the result was that the long-distance bridesmaids needed to have substantial alterations made on the«tents» that eventually arrived. Another word of warning: Make sure everyone in your party pays for the dress on time!
