Great place to grab a bite or a drink before an Astros game or event at George R brown. The waitress are super cute and friendly! Craft beers and $ 3 lonestar! This place has really gotten it together since past seasons.

Read the check in. Beer is served In a plastic cup, gets warm fast. Food is subpar and microwaved. Servers were friendly.

This is not where you want to go eat before the ballgame. 12 servers standing around and sampling beer and saying loudly that it tasted foul. The food was horrible and they don’t believe in silverware. Save your money!!!

It’s convenient to the ballpark. That is the only reason I can think of as to why this place stays in business. I have been here three times now(glutton for punishment!) and they are woefully UNDERSTAFFED on game day. If you are lucky enough to find a table, be prepared to be IGNORED for a solid 20+ minutes. Went there Sunday before the 1:10 game… had to flag a waitress down and asked if we could place an order; «yes, but this isn’t my area — just picking up some extra tables.» Uhmmm… ok…if you can take my order, then this IS your area. Arrives with the beers and one is tipped over on the tray in the process of delivering — she says, «I owe you some more beer.» Which never arrived, but still paid for a full one. Asked for utensils when the meal arrived; she brought knives. Ok… but that’s going to help with this salad stuff so I got up and said, somewhat under my breath, «forks would be helpful.» She heard me, because she turned around, handed me forks, and said, «Seriously? Forks?!» Do yourself a favour and plan ahead to grab a burger and beer elsewhere before the game.

Please, please, please! Read the reviews. They DONOTLIE. We should of listened! We… should… of . listened! How this place gets ANYONE to step inside is a mystery to me. Let’s start this tale from second we(wife and I) stepped in for a few beers and food before Astros game which is LITERALLY across the street. We walked in and lots of tables are filled so we head to back and we see a woman getting up from high top table. We ask if she’s done and she gives us a twisted look and says yes in a bit of a snotty way and walks away. We don’t care because we get table without waiting. She walks past us and goes behind bar! She left her food mess behind! We sit there waiting for 10 mins for her or anyone to acknowledge us, clean it up the bartenders mess and give us menus. FINALLY a waitress comes over and cleans up mess. I asked why she’s cleaning up the bartenders mess, and she looked over her shoulder at bar and back at us and said«I don’t know, this ain’t my section». Okie dokie then! We ordered jalapeño poppers, burgers and fries. Took almost 30 mins. Waitress apologized for the delay, saying kitchen is understaffed and overwhelmed Our food was barely warm! What the hell? She’s covering tables all over place including upstairs! Table next to us ordered chicken wings and she dropped them off to another table. Guys told her she made mistake, and she just shrugged and walked away! Classic! We finished our food and beers. Asked our waitress for 2 more beers and she tells us we have to get them at bar because she already closed our bill out and she’s going on a break. Wow! I don’t remember either one of us saying we were done. Alrighty then! We paid bill and got out, never looking back. Keep in mind the price of beers/drinks here are the SAME as inside the stadium! Again I ask… why do ppl enter this place?

Just got blatantly ignored for 15 minutes at the bar(soccer, US v Jamaica was on, easy time keeping). Bartender deliberately pointed at people around me for orders, to the point where even other patrons were calling her out on it. Pro tip: don’t wear the away team’s hat to this bar. Thanks to the Astros fans who helped this poor Boston lad finally get a beer. $ 6 – 7 beers before the game, same price as in the stadium, head inside for a shorter wait

Service is the worst. Came in with my wife and kids at 3 in the afternoon. Place wasn’t busy. Took 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge our presence. We ordered simple meals in hopes that we’d get our food quickly. No such luck. About 40 minutes later, our food came. The only upside was that the waitress gave us half off the bill. She apologized for the long wait and acknowledged that the service was unacceptable. Don’t waste your time on this joint.

Yuck! Service and food are bad. We ate here before a Sunday Astros game. Had to go get the server any time we needed something. The food is basically the kind of stuff you’d find in a gas station deli. The appetizer platter consisted of food purchased frozen and dumped in the fryer then served up greasy and soggy. Awful service, too. :(

STOP! It may be convenient but we waited an hour for a hot dog and fries before the Kenny Chesney concert. Never got food and staff was rude. I should have read the reviews before stopping here.

Don’t do it!!! We read the poor reviews and took our chances anyways thinking it couldn’t be that bad for a beer or 2 before an Astros game. It was that bad! I get that you’re going to busy on game day, but 1 bartender? And she was nasty on top of the that! $ 3 beer and shot specials, but they had no $ 3 beer and the shots were whatever she wanted to make per the bartender. I’ll pass. Stay away!

Baseball season has been underway for a little over a month now, so you would think by now, a bar and grill across from Minute Maid Park would have their act together. It’s a seat yourself place and we wanted a meal before the game, because paying stadium prices gets old. I have to say, for the price, the food wasn’t bad. I’ve had better and I’ve definitely had worse. I think my philly cheesesteak was a Steakuum, but that’s okay, I don’t expect authenticity. But let me go back to the beginning. We first sat down at a wobbly table(it is open seating). Then we moved to a different table that wasn’t wobbly and replaced the wobbly charge at the non-wobbly table with a non-wobbly chair. Really, don’t they have little screw in things to fix wobbly tables and chairs. We had to grab menus from the original table, there were none on the second table. We waited and waited and waited and servers were passing by right and left. Yes, it’s pregame, they were busy, what did they expect. Finally I flagged down a server and asked if she was our server. She said«I can be.» OK, I guess servers get to pick and choose who they wait on. Anyway, she took our orders. When she brought back drinks, she informed me they were out of fish & chips, my original order. So I ordered the cheesesteak. Hubs got a chili dog. His came with fries, but we had to ask for ketchup. Honestly, why can’t they just have bottles of ketchup on the table. Then we had to ask for silverware(plasticware). There were bins on the server bar, but they only had knives. Really, let your staff come in early to get everything stocked up for the busy time. Our server did ask if we were okay on drinks and brought the check in a timely manner. I don’t envy them having to run up and down stairs all the time carrying food and drink. It’s not an easy place to work, I’m sure. I can’t complain terribly, the price of our meal was about half what we paid the previous night for«dinner» at MMP. And virtually having all the low priced out of stadium food service near MMP, it was okay. But I wish they would up their game a bit. Even better, I wish there was a little competition in the area and more affordable eateries. Yea, I love Vic & Anthonys, but I like to pay my mortgage too :-)

Terrible service, rude waitresses and over priced beer. $ 7 for a plastic cup of beer is stupid. This place used to be great but over the years, it’s just gone down hill. I’ve tried to give it multiple chances but it keeps getting worse. If you want good food and better priced drinks. Go to Lucky’s.

Horrible service, rude and disrespectful staff. Awful food. Tell me if you order a burger and bbq wings wouldn’t you expect to get salt, pepper, asked if you want mayo, mustard, ketchup??? And… Wings hmmm… Probably would need some napkins. The owner walks around clueless while her staff ruins her reputation. What an absolute waste of a great location. This place could be so much more. Never giving them another dime. And the bartender on Wednesday the 15th was the rudest most impersonal thing Ive ever encountered. Definitely not the right 1st impression or what anyone would want representing their business. GET A GRIPLADY ~ HURRYJOHNTAFFERANDBARRESCUE.

Due to its proximity to the ballpark, the implication in the name, and the environment it has, you can guess that it is most frequently visited by Astros fans on gamedays. I have had the opportunity to do this myself. On foot after parking for a ball game, my significant other and I both discovered that we were hungry, and instead of going for the traditional ballpark fare, we wanted to try some place new. It can be difficult to get a table here, but we were lucky enough to walk right up to one that had been recently cleared. Looking over the menu, it appeared to be generally limited, but not bad or anything. Prices are actually quite reasonable. While friendly, the service appeared to be generally slow, but I couldn’t expect much for a place that packed. I guess they should be expecting the crowd though. The food is average, so I have no real complaints there. Overall, a decent place to grab a bite before the game.

TERRIBLE service before an Astros game. We found our own seats upstairs and waited for someone to acknowledge us. It never happened… I understand if they are busy, but we didn’t even get a head nod from the waitress to acknowledge us. Two of them kept going back and forth between other tables and they services a table that arrived after us. Again, we weren’t even acknowledged. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we left without being served — not even drinks!

We decided to pop in and grab a bite to eat before checking out the Stros and Red Sox game. Once inside we noticed the place was dead which was shocking since Red Sox were playing. We seated ourselfs at our tables. We noticed several members standing around doing nothing. No one bothered to take our order after 30 minutes so we left. Customer service is terrible we wont be back.

If you like sassy bar tenders that fling money back at you and you have no sense of smell, this is the place for you. They don’t charge ball park prices, but they definitely don’t charge what they should in such a dump hole as this place. I was going to order food from here before we went into the ballpark, but I figured it looked like an episode of Kitchen Nightmare back there, so I passed. The only decent service I received was upstairs in the third floor bar. It had a limited selection, I believe it was 4 different beers & I think 4 different hard alcohol selections. Just a disappointing experience before going to the ballpark. Watching the Astros lately has been frustrating enough, you don’t need to start the experience of disappointment before I get in the stadium!

Meh. It’s next door to Minute Maid Park which is the only reason they fill their seats. We didn’t get any food but everything looked like Sysco fried platters and at ballpark prices. Walked up to the bar and got our beers in quick enough fashion though. Prices were on par with other tap rooms. Come for a cheaper than ballpark price beer before the game and you’ll be fine.
