Exceptional food at very reasonable prices; the ceviche tostada is fabulous, as are the micheladas. Service is quick & friendly. Golden is um… golden! Families, working men, even old Texas ladies make this a melting pot of sorts, where everything revolves around delicious, fresh-made dishes, where sea-food is king.

This spot has been on my want-to-eat list for awhile and I finally made it out here for lunch recently. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait because I was fairly impressed with the food! What I tried: 1. Beverage-Michelada with Corona– the micheladas here do not disappoint. Just the right amount of kick and perfect with an ice-cold Corona, wedge of lime, and pinch of salt. Delicious! 2. Fried shrimp plate– My husband got this and it was just the right amount of food for him to polish off on his own. The regular shrimp are a respectable size. 3. Fried shrimp and fish plate– I got this and ate ¾ of it with ¼ boxed up to take home. The fish was super fresh and SOGOOD. Loved the light, crispy batter. I got fried rice as my side and it was yummy, too! 4. Ceviche– we shared this as an appetizer and it was my favorite part of the meal! Extremely fresh and just really, really nicely prepared. It was plenty for 2 to share– could definitely stretch it to feed 4 if everyone orders their own entrées. Would return just to eat this… Top notch! I can’t wait to return and try the seafood soup. I looked around and it seemed like a popular dish! Also– we had great service and the women’s restroom was pretty clean, too. The parking lot is small but we had no issues as we went for an early-ish lunch. If you arrive closer to noon or later on the weekend, you may have difficulty finding a spot.

Great seafood on Airline near the market. Make sure and try the Ceviche when you go. They are very busy Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s.

The quantites are super large, and while the menu is limited, the seafood is pretty durn good. I was not particularly hungry so I just got a bowl of Mexican Shrimp soup. Little did I know for about $ 6.00 I would get a bowl of soup big enough to comfortably and tastefully feed two or three. There was a ton of shrimp and wonderful big veggies in the soup. The broth was spicy and wonderful. Totally a great meal. Sadly I cannot say the same for the shrimp fried rice that my wife had. The quantity was large, but there was little shrimp, no veggies and other than some soy sauce, no flavor. Don’t order it. The service was good. We got to the restaurant at around 11:30 so the service was prompt and good. By 12:00 the restaurant was packed. Very clean and very reasonable, clearly a place to return to. Maybe the fish specialties the next time!

This place isn’t fancy but they have good seafood reasonably priced and they have a full bar, whats not to like? It gets packed on some days so I prefer to go on off days. Service has always been good for me.

Golden means great seafood(with an Asian twist) at great prices! We ordered an octopus cocktail, shrimp soup, grilled fish plate(served with steamed broccoli and fried rice) and a mojarra frita. All the food was fabulous. We also had mango margaritas and really enjoyed those. Unlike other Unilocalers, my experience with the service was not a bad one. This place is way out of our way, but it’s definitely worth the drive.

This is my go to spot both Northside locations! This fried rice is amazing! Great prices for a whole lotta food, the prices are starting to rise slowly but so far still a great deal for what you get. Close to the best micheladas in town. Their soup is by far the best seafood soup in Houston. This place will make you give up your Mambo trips all together. Something I always order which is not on the menu is «beef and eggs» a big plate of white rice with amazing pepper steak on top and two fried eggs to top it off. Prices and food are very good BUT service is hit or miss.

I’ve been going to Golden ever since it had the small location right next to Canino on Airline. I love their food. It’s always super fresh and delicious. It reminds me a lot of Connie’s Seafood. I love their fried rice!!! My family is in love with their Seafood soups. They come with delicious pan bolios. Their shrimp is delicious either grilled or fried. I love their tostadas de ceviche!!! This place is way better than Mambo’s Seafood!!! Whether you’re wanting something fried or grilled, Golden Seafood has you covered! The only thing that sucks about this place is how packed it sometimes gets.

loved their menu and their prices. I had the fried shrimp and fish platter with fried rice. service was totally amazing. parking was very easy to find too. plus it was very clean and somehow you feel good and in safe hands when eating. I’d love it more if their rice wasn’t very dry. otherwise everything was great. I will come back again with my friends.

Yeah it’s inexpensive, and no unlike a lot of reviews I’m not going to complain about the service, though some knowledge of Spanish would probably be best. Okay, it’s clean, well maintained, smells nice, spacious, parking was ample, no problems there, we were seated within minutes granted they tried to put us on a giant table next to someone else at the front of the restaurant(we promptly moved) but no big deal. Selection looked good, strange hybrid of seafood place and some Asian elements like stir fried broccoli and fried rice(which was really good by the way). Ordered 2 entrees, the fried platter for two(shrimp, oysters, scallops, fish, and stuffed crabs). Shrimp were butterflied and flattened? far too small and way way way over cooked to the point of chewiness(not good). Scallops were delicate and perfect(diver scallops/medium) sized not those silver dollar ones you’ll get at far more expensive places. Oysters were HUGE, smaller ones were sweet larger ones were a little odd tasting(not what I’m used to being a gulf coast guy). Fish were disgustingly over cooked, fried to death(skipped those). Stuffed crab were okay, but also cooked to death but the interior was nice and tasty — not exactly jumbo lump crab but good nonetheless. Fries are standard fair, nothing great. Grilled bacon wrapped shrimp, while again slightly overcooked were really good and a good portion for the price. What’s good is that it comes with really good fried rice, and broccoli — both were probably the best thing I ate here. Okay so maybe we had got a dud this time, and for $ 45 – 50 it wasn’t bad but their cook/chef needs to really dial back how long they fry shrimps, and fish it was just way way way too overcooked for seafood(and that’s a criminal thing at a place that specializes in seafood primarily). I’m not sure we’ll be back probably try connies, or just stay in Oak Forest.

Parking is limited, but there is a private parking lot. I recommend parking in front of the building of possible. There is a New menu. Instead of 1 grilled redfish fillet and 6 grilled jumbo shrimp for $ 15.95you get an additional redfish fillet for $ 17.95. When I received my plate, it was the exact thing as before just a price increase. # false advertisement. This is not a four/five star establishment, so don’t expect superb customer service because you won’t find it here. Staff are usually nice, but you will find yourself flagging down a waitress if you need to order something additional or to simply pay your bill. Don’t expect drink refills, expect to wait 15 minutes after eating to revive the tab. My hub was disappointed as was I. I’ve experienced way better in my past visits and this is by far my worst experience. I used to rave about this place, but I can cook this meal much better and with seasoning. The fish taste like it had no seasoning, but the shrimp were seasoned. Even the broccoli was a miss, and I love broccoli so much I can eat it raw. Quality decreased while prices increased. Atleast compensate for the price increase. Spend the extra money and go elsewhere.

This used to be my favorite place to get shrimp and fried rice. The old price was 10.99 and you got 30 shrimp with your choice of fries or rice. I tried them again recently and the shrimps batter didn’t taste the same. The rice was kind of dry. They also went up in price! I think I will go to mambos when I need my fried shrimp and rice from now on. This place definitely changed. Still good but not great like it used to be. Maybe I caught them on an off day. I will go back.

The food here is great. Reminds me a lot of Mambo’s but the food is a little better. Definitely no micheladas here though. Like I said, the food is great but the wait staff could be a little more attentive. The dining area was about 60% empty yet my party of 7 stood around for a bit at the entrance — not sure if you seat yourself. But once we sat ourselves, no one came to our table. I finally got up, after what seemed like a minute, and got menus for the table. The waitress finally came and apologized for the wait but there seemed to be a lot of standing around. And then we order drinks… I only asked for a water. Drinks came out, but not mine. Appetizer came out, still no water. Food came out, had to ask for a third time. TL;DR — food is great. Service sucks.
