An absolutely horrible experience. Not only do they never have enough staff on hand to help customers, they never go beyond average to just help a guest. I was helped by James who quoted me a price on a gun, and when i came in to get the gun, the newly hired 5 day manager did not know how to do most of the transactions and had no clue what to do. They said they would price match and 10% of the difference and then did not honor the price i was quoted because the employee went above and beyond and he should not have. They said it was too low. When I showed them the information, they said that he should not have done that and they would not do anything. We even called the competitor that was lower than them and they heard the price and they would still not honor the price. THEYHEARD the manager quote the price and they would still not admit they were wrong. I was just in shock that they would not admit they did it wrong and work with me. NOTHING!!! I would have expected them to do something, but they did NOTHING. I am not one of those customers who says that i will never go back to that place, but, I will NEVER go back to that place.

Absolutely the worst customer service if you even get anyone. Just as easy to shop online from other stores.

Nothing like other sporting goods stores I’ve been to before. Maybe the layout of the store kind of doesn’t really make you want explore the merchandise to much. The staff is somewhat going through the motions and no one really seems to greet you or ask you need any assistance. Not great but not bad just in the middle.

This place is like the Walmart for outdoor stuff. Horrible service. Only thing they care about is the money. Customer service is not important to them at all. And it shows.

Cool store with lots of inventory, but morons for employees. Learn the laws Fopdoodles or bad store policies. Either way I will never return.

These guys claim to have a gunsmith on site. They are lying. They held my gun for three weeks and then shipped off to another Gander Mountain in Wisconsin. That GM held onto it for another three weeks and then shipped to the OEM. So that is 8 weeks now and still no info on what is wrong with my firearm, estimated cost, nothing. This is the last time I will do business with this company. I’m going to go back to Carter Country for repairs

It’s really jacked up that they give a Boy Scout discount, but no military discount. I won’t be back.

Very good service with a smile. Their prices aren’t anything special but at least they know how to treat a customer. This location is the best, with the one in Sugarland being my least favorite because those employees there act like Carter’s Country staff.

blerf. it’s an ok place to window shop. ammo is expensive, guns are more expensive than other places. their layout was kinda confusing. I was looking for a 511 training officer belt(the kind of belt that you use when you want to carry) and it was in the youth section. away from the 2 other place they had belts in the men’s section. whuuuh?

My hubby has made me go with him twice so far. Hasn’t bought anything yet… just looking around. More like Academy than Bass Pro. Not really fair to compare this to Bass Pro anyway, as the selection is a lot less. It appears that they’re doing some remodeling and resetting, so it’s kind of hard to judge what the final product will be. The store is kept very tidy though. I’m also not interested in that type of stuff, but my husband likes Academy better.

Great staffing when it comes to the fire arms counter. Their staff if very knowledgeable on everything! I do have to admit, it gets really busy at times, but they do get to every customer! If you are looking for a gun, just ask for Jay! He will help you with anything that you are looking for! :)

I came in here to pass the time while waiting for a take out pizza. What I found was a fun store full of any and every outdoors clothing, accessories and equipment you’d ever need. The clothes range from hunting clothing to everyday casual wear like Tshirts and hoodies. There’s even camouflage clothing for those who hunt — jackets with a leafy design and pants too. The coolest camo outfit I saw had to be the Gilly suit(not sure of spelling on this one). If you are a fan of Kolchak: The Nightstalker, you will be reminded of the episode«The Spanish Moss Murders» which had the peremailfait monster who was all moss and swampy. The Gilly suit actually does look like it’s made of the Spanish moss we see in some trees. I’m digressing here. The selection of shoes for outdoor activities seemed to be quite big. The hiking shoes were particularly impressive. I would come back here for those. The store was clean and the displays were well done. I had fun here and if I need any outdoor stuff I’d come back.

It’s funny how they’re trying to shove anything and everything into this store and yet it seems as though they simply don’t have enough of a selection of any one thing to make it worthwhile. Kinda sad and disappointing, but typical of such places.

This is an interesting place. It is a huge outdoors sporting goods store, with huge selections of clothing, guns, fishing, boating gear and camping equipment. The gun selection is impressive. What seemed like well over 100 rifles were behind the counter and for sale. Within the cases were everything from a 10″ .500 magnum S&W to a Steyr Aug. The selection was hey impressive. The prices seemed a bit high, but I have come to expect that at a large chain. The camping section had several tents on display along with sleeping bags and cots. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though I probably appeared very suspicious walking around snapping photos for Unilocal

Academy on steroids, this place is the slightly overpriced, get it all in one place, huntin’, shootin’, fishin’ extravaganza. From boats for sale in the parking lot, to the archery range at the back of the store behind the handgun selection, there is enough to keep you occupied for hours. There are only two reasons it does not get four stars; one the service, which in my case may have been slowed a little by my appearance(no gimme cap or camo) and the other being the prices on handguns, which were a little high and not negotiable. It had a pretty impressive worm bar and huge selection of deer urine, but I wasn’t there to have a drink.
