My wife and I stopped in here for an early dinner Saturday evening, enticed by the prospect of flavor fusion, with Indian, Mexican, and other Asian overtones all melded together. Sounded delicious! The place is clean, and service is at the counter with delivery to your table shortly thereafter. Staff were courteous and helpful. The food was better than expected, with a delightful mix of Asian and Mexican flavors as I have not previously experienced. We had the special which includes two tacos, drink, and a side, for $ 10 and change. Our four tacos had lamb, tofu, Thai chicken, and Asian beef, all with citrusy pickled slaw and delicious sauces. Our sides were chips with queso and chips with hummus. The food was filling, singularly delicious, and relatively inexpensive. I recommend this place highly. Apparently they even deliver.

The décor’s great. The«Asian» Angus Steak Taco wasn’t. But worst of all, the guy behind the counter was really unfriendly and unenthusiastic.

Really good tacos and queso! The lamb taco with the crunchy corn tortilla is fantastic! However let’s have a convo about what makes a taco! I ordered the chicken tikka taco and what I got was chicken tikka masala curry on a naan. That’s not a taco! Tacos have layers and sauces. Adding hot sauce to the curry wouldn’t add to anything. It was good as is but it honestly belongs at an Indian restaurant. I would direct you to Velvet Taco for the perfect chicken tikka masala taco as they layer properly. But overall I was quite happy with the meal, I’ll be back!

This is one of my favorite places to eat downtown. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Houston. This is not traditional tacos. They serve exotic and delicious tacos. Vegetarian friendly. Side salads are huge and very very good. You can get two tacos and a salad for $ 10 and its huge portions. Badass, perfect tofu. I could eat here every meal. Many healthy choices. The only reason I’m writing a review is because I love this place and I want it to get good business so I can continue eating here for years so I’m giving it 5 stars. I have to go now because I’m going to eat here. Fusion taco.

I love(modernized) tacos as much as I love the real deal. It’s like a kitchen sink recipe where you can have mostly of whatever you want in a tortilla. I had an order of the agedashi tofu and the blackened tilapia. I really loved both and couldn’t decide which I liked better. The tofu was nice and crispy, and the pineapple salsa on the tilapia really fused well together. We went here on a very slow hour so the place wasn’t at all packed. There’s ample sitting inside and out. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu, and it was entertaining to see ‘em load out stuff in their food truck to go! P. S. I’m also a fan of Torchy’s Tacos but I really do prefer Fusion Taco better. Whoops.

It’s more than just another Mexican restaurant, it can be also called«Mexican heaven», I would have named it like this) What can make it like this? The portions are big enough and very delicious! I am big Mexican food eater, so I know how it should be done and how to look. Fusion Taco is a nice place for vegetarians and those people with different allergies, because the staff at this place is always careful, curious and knowledgeable about about such things! Love this Mexican oasis of incredibly tasty food.

Wow. This place. Wow. I took my cousin from Kalamazoo here while he was visiting. He couldn’t stop raving about it. He, my boyfriend, my mom, and I really enjoy this little taco shop. They have really interesting tacos for a fantastic price especially considering the area. They could be charging way more(I’m glad they don’t though) heehee. I had a tofu masala taco and a portobello taco. Both were incredible and the masala was really interesting, I love Indian food but I’d never had it in taco form but fusion taco made the transition beautifully. Their queso is probably best in the city. I love that it didn’t congeal after 3 minutes like most places’ queso does. It is a fabulous establishment that definitely deserves your attention and hungry belly.

Great tacos! Great vegan options… Unfortunately all 3 times we’ve been there they have been very unenthusiastic about getting business. Not very welcoming, but great food.

Freaking amazing tacos! The place is a little funky with great music. House and RnB. The food quality is fresh. I had the vindaloo and the angus steak. Both were stellar. Parking is a bitch! We came on a late night Saturday.

More then just a taco. A tacos heaven . When you walk in, go up to the counter to order your food. They will deliver it to you. Menus are located up at the counter as well . They have a meal deal I suggest. It’s about $ 11 for two tacos, a side and drink. The sides are the same portion as if you order it from the side section itself. I thought it was awesome they didn’t give you a smaller version of the sides them self because you were getting it with a meal . Sides include things like chips and Guac or chips and cheese, etc. They do have beans but no rice . They have different taco flavors from around the world that include some unquie flavor pairings. I loved that the tacos themselves where very big potions. The flavors were very apparent and brought out by the ingredients they use themselves and not by fake spices or artificial flavoring. It was nice to have flavors that tasted like the descriptions . Me and the boyfriend got the meal deal, and I recommend all of it : Chips and cheese — chips and Guac Certified Angus steak, tempura local shrimp, bbq pork, short rib They also have quesadillas, nachos, signature items and salads as well . Extra info — They have every hot sauce you can think of. They deliver through grub hub . Event catering is available.

I was pretty disappointed with this place after reading the reviews. I think the sides I tried were better than the tacos. I’ll say they can whip up a mean plate of sweet potato fries, which is served with this yummy chipotle sauce. I had their lunch combo that includes two tacos, a side, and a drink. It’s a pretty good deal. I tried the Thai chicken and the tempura shrimp. The Thai chicken was better than the tempura shrimp in my opinion, but both were just alright. Not enough flavor for me. The wasabi aioli that’s in the shrimp taco is very underwhelming in some bites and overwhelming in other bites. The chicken was also a little dry in the Thai chicken taco. The chips and guac I had for my side was good, but that’s not very hard to mess up. Even though this is a go up and order at the counter type of place, the guy taking the order was very nice and courteous. Our food came out really quickly, but the place was not very crowded. I think there are plenty of other places in Downtown that are more worth your time.

it’s been awhile since i’ve frequented this place but deserves a glowing review from me for all those enjoyable moments that i’ve sat here and enjoyed their yummy food offerings. my favorites boil down to three: tempura local shrimp, chinese bbq berkshire pork and the 24h beef short rib vindaloo. needless to say, these choices all had great flavor and texture. GOALREADY if you’re got a hankering for some non-traditional soft tacos in the market square area of downtown!

Nice clean, fresh taste to their tacos. Fresh ingredients, not overpowered with too many spices or too much salt. When you want a different take on a taco, nachos, in a open atmosphere check this place out. Tonight they are participating in the Market Square Park party. $ 3 street tacos $ 5 can of beer. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Give this place a shot.

The reason I’m giving this place 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because I’m conflicted about how good the food is. The first time I went here I got the lunch combo(2 tacos + 1 side + drink). I had the tilapia taco, short rib taco, and kale and mango taco. Super yummy! The second time I got the kale and tofu quesadillas which comes with a side salad. No complaints about the salad but the quesadillas were sooo cheesy and greasy. I had to blot them off with a napkin and had a stomach ache the rest of the day from all the grease. So I would definitely stick to the tacos and salads next time.

Found this place on Unilocal and after doing some mild research, decided I had to try it out. Fusion Taco has a unique spin on taco’s. They use flavors you’d normally get from an Asian restaurant into their taco’s. The outcome is a unique, yet delicious combo of flavors. I ordered the 2 taco plus 1 side option, which proved to be more than enough food. The salsa was delicious. I ordered the 24h Beef Short Rib Vindaloo which reminded me of flavors from an Indian restaurant. It doesn’t taste too spicy, but can make your mouth burn like you’ve eaten spicy food afterwards. My second taco was the Grilled Chicken Satay. By far my favorite. I can’t even describe the flavors except that I want another one right now. I will definitely come back if I am in the area. My only advice is to eat the taco as soon as it comes out. The juice might melt through your corn shell.

This was my first time going to Fusion Taco. The last time I had come here was on a Sunday without checking beforehand to see if they were even open(they are not open on Sundays). I ordered the shrimp tempura taco and the blackened tilapia taco. Both were pretty much the same thing with coleslaw. The only difference was the protein. The flavor profile of the lamb vindaloo that my friend got was something like«too lamb-y» and the other one was so delicious that he didn’t even let me have a taste of that. They have a lot of different varieties. The décor is abs dorbs. The furniture is what I want in my apartment. The tables could have been a little cleaner. I thought I was putting my arms on glue residue. Other than that LOVE this place.

With a location right next to Market Square, this is a great place for sitting outside and people-watching on a nice day, like when we went :). There are tables outside, and you feel a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere when you sit out there. The food was also good, but not the best tacos I’ve ever had. There are interesting flavors though! The bf and I shared a tempura shrimp, BBQ berkshire pork, short rib vindaloo, agedashi tofu, grilled chicken satay, and some sweet potato fries. All the tacos come with double corn tortillas. My favorites were the BBQ berkshire pork(sweet and salty, but very oily) and short rib vindaloo(super tender and came with a ton of meat!). The tempura shrimp and chicken satay were also pretty good. I wouldn’t get the agedashi tofu again though. The tofu was hard(not soft like agedashi tofu should be), fried normally(not with the special batter agedashi tofu is usually fried with), and bland(none of that agedashi tofu sauce). I also don’t know if I would recommend getting the specialty tacos served on naan. It’s a big piece of naan but the same amount of filling as what would go on a taco, so it seems unbalanced. It’s also not really a taco since the naan is served flat… Sweet potato fries were pretty normal, but came with a nice mayo-based dipping sauce. The portion was decent. We got our food really quickly after we ordered, which was a plus! Parking is a little hard since it’s downtown– you probably have to look for some street parking nearby.

Perhaps my hopes for Fusion Taco were too high. I have mixed feelings, because I ordered two tacos and enjoyed one but not the other. The Good: Short Rib Vindaloo — delicious raita(yogurt & spices-based sauce), tender beef, fresh cucumber and tomato on soft tortillas. This was worth. The Meh: Lamb Keema — this had the same delicious raita, cucumber, and tomatoes, but the lamb filling was not impressive and the fried hard taco shell was too greasy. I didn’t feel great after eating this one. We also tried the chile con queso, which was good, but difficult to finish because the chips were way too salty. But despite these small disappointments, I wouldn’t mind coming back, especially since it’s such a great spot for people watching.

I’m writing this while being in a food coma so please excuse me if I start fadinggggggggggggggggggggggg off. First off don’t bring someone here that you aren’t comfortable eating in front of… it will be a complete disaster. Do have extra napkins available at all times. Also don’t be fooled by thinking that the second tortilla that wraps your taco is an option or for just looks. Do use, otherwise you will be sporking up your taco… I made this mistake :/…you have been forewarned. The quick because I need a nap… the short rib vindaloo, the hummus, and the chicken tortilla soup… I couldn’t stop and that is why I feel the way I do now. It was too good to put down… didn’t like the shrimp tempura too much… it will not be something I will order again. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I thought I liked Fusion Taco. The first time I went I think I had the short rib vindaloo and tilapia and they were both great. The second time I got the chicken satay and fried shrimp and didn’t especially like either. Also, the restaurant was dark and kind of smelled like sewer. The service was nice and the décor is cute. I had a frozen blood orange margarita mixed with sangria that was expensive, but super delicious. The chips and queso as a side are pretty tasty! I love the 2 taco combo with chips and queso as a side — if Torchy’s offered that combo, I would die of happiness(and probably from being too full).
