One of the best Biriany rice and buttered chicken in downtown

Fusion Grillerz is a food court, express, Indian restaurant in downtown Houston. They offer a wide range of vegetarian options, and decent tasting dishes for the price. Whether or not there is a strong emphasis on the z in Grillerz is TBD. I visited after picking up my regular order at Doozo’s dumplings. The staff here was friendly, and helped me figure out what was vegetarian. I ordered chana masala and some yellow lentils. Full disclosure: I didn’t properly carry the bag, so in the picture, the food looks like a huge mess. Listen, presentation is important in amateur iPhone food photography, and I’ll own up to it: the photo makes the food look nasty. It still tasted pretty good. The chana masala had a bit of a kick, as did the lentils. The lentils were a bit mushy. I wasn’t a huge fan of the veggie rice. Where is the classic Jasmine? I’d come again for lunch if I were craving Indian food — I’m not sure if the food court or tunnels have other Indian options. Chris

Best fast food Indian that I have had for $ 7. I split it with my another person and it was plenty. The chicken rice that comes with each dish has curry chicken it. It’s like two meals in one

I like their chicken combo with chicken 65 as side. Good food in right temperature. Never tried vegetarian combo though.

One of my go to weekly lunch places. Friendly staff, tasty food, good selection. Haven’t had any issues with cold food while I’ve been here. I recommend if you’re looking for Indian food downtown.

Fusion grillerz(sic) is an Indian restaurant located in the park shops food court. They offer a good selection for a small foot court location. The place is a little intimidating because when you get about 10 feet away and look at the menu, the owners start yelling«Indian food sir! Lunch special 7 dollars! And other encouraging remarks are hurled at you to get you to eat there. The shouting is informative if you stop and listen to what they say, but I have actually seen potential customers turn away presumably because they were intimidated by the experience. When you finally decide to go there the deal is actually pretty good as well. It’s 2 meats/vegetable dishes, rice, and naan for 7 dollars. A soda, empanada(or whatever those friend things are), or mango smoothie is 1 dollar more. Also if you want another meat it’s only a dollar more. However all of the extras are too much food so I stick to the normal special with a cup of water. My go to order is butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, however occasionally I will switch the butter chicken for chicken Briyani instead. Overall it’s a good lunch place for a good price. Just make sure you have gum handy afterwards.

Had a taste for something spicy today so I decided to give this place a stab at it. I ordered a combination plate consisting of chicken, goat, rice and lamb with an extra spicy sauce. This seemed like a great idea at the time… I’m not gonna lie, I received generous portions for a reasonalble amount and the food tasted delicious but they should tell people that a diaper will be required for the next couple hours. I had to reschedule all my afternoon meetings!

A decent Indian option in downtown Houston. I have tried the chicken biryani, naan, chicken curry and chicken 65. The naan was fresh and tender as were the pieces of Chicken 65. The biryani(atleast today) was not as fresh I hoped it to be. The curries here are good tough and the servers are pleasent to talk to. I will definitely recommend this place as a good joint to have a quick lunch. Decent taste & good ambience.

Small portions, thin curry, cold naan. Good spinach and low prices. There is better Indian fusion downtown. This restaurant is located in the Park Shops food court. The restaurant name has«fusion» in it, but I didn’t see anything on the menu that would qualify. All of the food appears to be Indian dishes. My order was the mixed plate: chicken curry, spinach, white rice and garlic naan. The food came in one of the styrofoam containers with two small, half-cup portions and a large 2-cup portion. The server confused me when he asked me if I wanted white rice. He was rushed and I told him ok. I didn’t realize I could have had vegetable biryani as an option. I believe the mix option allows you to pick 3 entrees from the list, but it wasn’t clearly specified on the menus. It might have been two entrees and a starch? My meal consisted of about 1⁄3 cup of chicken curry, 1⁄3 cup of spinach, and an overflowing amount of white rice. The curry chicken had a minuscule 2 ounces of meat. The curry was tasty, but the watery texture and lack of chicken was disappointing. The spinach was delicious, I just wish I had a bit more. An Indian coworker looked at my food and jokingly said the fusion part of this restaurant was«water fusion». My chicken curry was very watery, not creamy at all. Garlic naan came with the meal, but it was cold and tasted like it had been sitting-out for awhile. I ate half of the rice and had a BBQ rib afterwards from anther restaurant to make up for the lack of protein. The price of $ 7 for the FG meal and $ 1 for a drink is nice, but not for a meal that is mostly rice. My next downtown Indian food trip will not be to Fusion Grillerz.

After attempting to wait in Thai Basil’s loooong line on a unusually busy day, I decided to jump on over to Fusion Grillerz and give them a try. For my first try I decided to go with the safe option of butter chicken, rice, and some chickpeas that both people in front of me had ordered, which told me they were good! My second visit I tried the tandoori chicken and lentils with the Biriyani rice. Wow, won’t ever pass up that rice again! It was delicious!!! The tandoori was also well seasoned and moist. I really enjoyed everything. I thought it was super flavorful and not too spicy. My only complaint was that my entire meal wasn’t that warm. I ate in the food court, so I had maybe a 2 minute wait time between when I paid and when I took a bite. Other reviewers mention their items not being so fresh, so I am afraid this might be a habit of theirs.

Only reason I gave them only 3 stars is because of the presentation. The food is great. The problem with the presentation is that they had only chicken biryani to go with the meal combos. The side dish also has meat in it. I had tandoori chicken and added butter chicken for a dollar more, so you get kind of a sample of different things which is cool. It would make more sense to serve these with plain biryani. The tandoori was spicy, tender and flavorful, the butter chicken was tender and full of flavor. As far as the naan goes? Not worth mentioning. They give you some sort of pita bread. As far as the indian food that I’ve tried I would have to say that this is some of the best I’ve had. Very good, especially for a food court place.

This is a relatively new place in the Food Court of Houston Center. The food is mostly Indian, although they do spice up some dishes to the level of heat you’d find in a decent Pakistani restaurant. The food is always to go – in those lovely white Styrofoam containers. I am always a fan of chicken Biryani and they do it right here! Lots of great chunks of chicken, the seasoning is spot on perfect. The kebabs are good too, so you can always get those and nosh away on those. My issue is sometimes, near the end of the day, if the food has set out too long, its not really that fresh any more. This was mentioned in another review and although I’ve only had it happen to me once, it really shouldn’t happen at all. But, the food is always tasty and flavourful. Great choice for the food court, if you’re downtown for Mon-Fri lunch rush that is the Houston Center.

In the ever rotating Food Court options in the Park Shops in Downtown Houston, we have a new eatery called Fusion Grillerz. It think it has been open a few weeks. I don’t anticipate they will stay open, unless their options in the early hours of lunch are better than the late hours. I was there at 2:00 pm looking for some vegetarian options. The vegetable biryani looked dried out from sitting so long. The paneer saag looked slightly crusted over and the garbanzo bean«veggie of the day» looked dried out. There were two men at the counter. The older one right away got that I was looking for vegetarian and offered me their veggie burger and said it was homemade, so I ordered that with fries and brought it back to my office. It was $ 7.58 for the combo without a beverage. Right away, I think that is a little pricy. The fries were cold and stale like they had been sitting for several hours. The burger was so spicy that I could hardly eat it. I’m sorry, but food just needs to be fresh. Stale, cold fries won’t work. Dried out rice, no thank you. The only thing that got them two stars instead of one was that the older gentlemen at the counter tried very hard to help me find something to eat.
