Alonti — One Houston Center is convenient if you work in any of the Houston Center buildings and you want the ‘homecooked’- type food. For some reason the food at this location is never as good as the tunnel location.(maybe some add’l training is needed?) Also, the customer service here is lacking. I stopped by for breakfast recently. There are 5 people in line and one person serving customers. I look around and count 10 add’l brown shirts(employees). A few people are behind the counter getting ready for lunch. One is at the register, One is doing paperwork, and 3 are standing by the registers gossiping. I walked over to the lady doing paperwork(manager…i assume) and ask if anyone else can assist with breakfast. She looks up at the one poor lady working and then says to me «She’s almost done with that customer, she’ll get to you soon»… are u kidding me. I point out the line that is growing as we speak(full of annoyed customers checking their watches and cell phones) and she hesitantly asks one of the guys behind the counter if he can help. Wow… The place is not terrible they have a ton of options for breakfast/lunch(Soups, salads, sandwiches, hot plates, pasta, desserts, fruit, etc.) & With additional training this could be a better experience… The tunnel location is currently closed for renovations so i am forced to go to this location for my homecooked-food fix. {sigh.} IF you use them for catering(delivered to your office) its a MUCH better experience. I recently ordered delivery for a client meeting. I was able to do everything online. They emailed me confirmation of my order. Arrived on time and the food was DELISH! Clients loved the meal!(Pecan crusted chicken w/green beans, baked mac/cheese, side salad, and a brownie/cookie tray) — This review gets an additional star for the catering service.

This place has an odd location. It’s hidden behind an escalator in One Houston Center. It’s the only restaurant in One Houston Center. It’s also the closest restaurant for where I work, so I go there when I’m in a hurry. They have a station with sandwiches and pasta(and taco salad once a week), a station for soup, and a salad/hot food bar. The sandwiches and pasta are both average. The tequila cream pasta is good, but incredibly heavy. The marinara is very bland. Lasagna is average. The soups are good, albeit on the salty side. The salad and hot food bar is good, but VERY expensive. They charge by the pound, and they charge A LOT. They also weigh your dressing(half of whose weight is the container)… nickel and dime much? The service at the sandwich/pasta line is friendly, but the cashier is usually not. Average food, above average prices. If it wasn’t so convenient, I don’t think I would ever go here.

This restaurant is tucked behind the escalators on the floor underneath the lobby of One Houston Center. They have everything from soup and salads to hot lunch plates. I have tried their tomato basil soup which wasn’t bad as well as some of their sandwiches. Prices are reasonable but the staff are not overly friendly. It gets very busy in here around lunchtime but the line moves quickly. Because they are in an office building they do close early(around 2 i think). They also cater many lunches for my office and the lady that usually delivers it is very sweet and almost always early or on time.
