El Pupusodromo

This place has a lot of bad reviews so we were doubtful. One of the reviews I read said the food was great so that was good enough for me. The food is AMAZING. we had pupusas revueltas, Yuca and chicharron frito, and fried plantains beans and crema. Everything was amazing. And I’m not exaggerating. We will make the drive here again soon. The staff was friendly, they and attentive. I nursed my baby at the table and no one batted an eyelash. Loved it!!!

Didn’t even order got tired of waiting for the waitress to acknowledge we were even there. There was only 1 other table!

As the other comments already stated, service is completely awful! This place used to be nice but after they remodeled, this place went completely downhill. I even found a hair in my chao mein and the waitress said that it was fluff from the air conditioning. I really don’t want filth from air conditioning to fall into my food. The waitress rarely came along to check on us to see if we were alright or wanted more, I was waiting for 15 minutes for a new drink. I used to recommend this to anyone of my friends for authentic Salvadorean but times as changed and they have definitely change for the worse. Don’t come here unless you want filth in your food and terrible service. The only reason I decided to give this place two stars instead of one is just to them mercy.

Service horrible! Walked in and tables were dirty, took about 10 minutes to catch the waitress attention to please clean the table. Finally a waitress took our drink order came back within 15 mins. Took our order and hasn’t been back with our food approximately wait time now is 30 mins. Now I know not to stop by at this place for food! Sorry not sorry…

Always have to wait 30 to 40mins for just 7pupusa… They are to slow it’s better to call then for pick up…

Service is horrible !!! We waited 15 min for burn coffee and we ordered eggs I think they waited for the chicken to lay the eggs because it took forever. When the food finally arrived the eggs n chorizo where salty. We will not be coming back again!

Took my wife for some salvi breakfast. She loved her pan con crema. She loved the plantains with beans and cream as well. I had the huevos rancheros and the eggs were perfect. My advise is plan on food to take 20 to 30 minutes to be ready after you order. I wish they had better coffee too. If the time on getting your food was better then I would give it 5 stars. Food was great though.

The service is slow and had to wait a while to ask for a refill. Several tables were still messy despite only having two tables with customers. One of the big jars of curtido had a fly inside of it because it was loosely covered with tin foil.
The food itself is good but you have to kind of put the surrounding refuse out of mind to enjoy your meal. I ordered a «Combinado B» which includes two pupusas of your choice– I had chicharron (pork), a tamal– pollo (chicken), and fried plantains with a large dallop of cream in the middle of the plate. The tamal was cooked wonderfully, nice flavor but the masa was pretty crumbly. The pupusas were great, cooked evenly and served hot. The only downside is they were quite heavy on the grease. The plantains were also very good, sweet and tender as plantains should be.

After seeing a couple of El Pupusodromo’s around the area of Houston we were staying in me and Gel decided to check this place out before leaving. The pupusa’s here were decently priced $ 1.40 each and they were on the bigger side which was awesome, the El Salvadorean horchata was typical and nothing special. The only bag thing that happened is that this place gave me the runs, I don’t know if it’s because the cheese pupusa is super cheesy and my body is not the best dairy digesting machine or if something unsanitary in the food made me. I’d give this place another chance to see if my body reacts the same as the last time I went. There was maybe 3 people in the entire restaurant when we went yet the 1 waitress working seemed like she was lallygagging.
5 stars good, big decently priced pupusas — 2 stars (gave me the runs!) = 3 stars
