We had the fajita burrito and fajita beef quesadilla. Desent food, great service. I would eat there again.

Tried it for the first time. Got carne guisada torta along with an horchata drink which it did not disappoint at all! The horchata definitely tastes like it was made from scratch! I will be returning to this place.

Had the carne asada plate(#1)…looks like a hole in the wall from the street, but great homemade Mexican! We’ll be back :)

I was a bit disappointed after seeing this rated as a 5-star, although there were only 4 ratings at the time. The food is DECENT, but nothing special in my opinion. There are soooo many Mex places that you really need to stand out to get my business. And this place is definitely a DIVE. First language isn’t English. It’s affordable and service was pretty good. But no real reason to go back. Try Dos Amigos in the Heights or Chapala Restaurant on 1960 and Jones Road!

Excellent authentic Mexican food. A great little gem in North Houston. Nothing fancy, more like a hole in the wall, but it serves real good food at a very affordable price. You can even see the cook making your food from your table. My wife and I had breakfast there and it came out to $ 8 including our drinks. Definitely going again.

Great breakfast spot, good food at an affordable price. I order breakfast from El Charro daily and am always satisfied. Their food always tastes fresh and delicious and they are generous with their portions despite their cheap prices. I only pick up my food so I can’t speak for the in-restaurant dining experience but their employees have always been friendly and courteous while I’m there. I highly recommend the«Huevos Rancheros» and any of their breakfast tacos. The pastor tacos are excellent as well.

Best migas in town! Husband and I love to go here for a quick, tasty but inexpensive breakfast. Migas were $ 3.99. Really! Delicious, large quantities of food, served piping hot. Salsa is homemade. Chips are served hot. Breakfast tacos are fantastic and generous portions. Nothing trendy or gorgeous about this place, but the focus is on the food. Have not tried anything but breakfast here so can’t speak for the rest. Waitresses are attentive and most are bio-lingual. Go try the migas and Unilocal if you don’t agree!

This place is awesome my whole family goes! It is very authentic. It a hole in the wall but don’t let that stop you the food is great. They have daily specials there which are good because everyday is different and it come with about 4 items for 5 bucks. My husband gets the gorditas or Charro plate which has very good chicken breast. My father-in-law gets either menudo or lengua tacos. My mother-in-law gets the tostadas and tacos. I’ve had the chicken flautas which are amazing. and also the cheese and beef enchiladas which are also very good. The chips and salsa are delicious which are my 2 year old sons favorite. The pickled veggies are great with the food. I would highly recommended this place to anyone looking for great authentic mexican food. The price is great for the amount and quality of food you are getting. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have fountain drinks but thats ok because the lemonade is good.

When you want some really good, authentic and CHEAP tacos, El Charro is the place to go. How can anyone dine at Taco Bell when you’ve got a great hole-in-the-wall gem like this place? And yes, there are a few holes in the wall here but it should not deter you since the food is solid, decently clean with friendly staff that speaks English for us gringos. Small store front joint, very warm even though the A/C is on. Waitresses speak decent English and are friendly. One cook on a short order grill whips up a very respectable taco. I had six tacos on my recent visit: 1 carnitas, one lengua, one carne, 2 al pastor and one with gravy. Served on a soft small flour taco with onions, cliantro, limes and a basket of chips and medium sales. Also served on every table was a bowl of pickled veggies. The price was the frosting on the cake — how about $ 1.10 for a taco! Now that’s a bargain. It’s even a bigger bargain when the taco is authentic and tasty! Out the door with 2 Diet Cokes, 6 tacos, chips, salsa for under $ 10! Now that’s my kinda place!
