The reason I gave a 3 is because they gave us the impression that they were counting plates and checking the type of food we eat. I ate only mussels, shrimp, crab meat & veggies and fruits Buffet all you can eat!!! Don’t rush the customers to leave

Good, cheap Chinese food buffet. The waitresses were great always there when our drinks became half full. Always took our plates when empty. Food was ok. Lots to choose from; fresh sushi to pizza, chicken wings to egg drop soup. Wish they had more desserts to choose from. Come check it out and taste it yourself and see what you think.

This place is great! The ambience is comfortable. The waiters are super attentive and management is just as great and were very friendly with my grandma. They have the best crab, and they always keep the buffet trays full. The seafood tastes fresh, not old and mushy. I much rather eat here than at Papadeux. You must try the Thai chicken soup… it has pineapples! I’ve never tried it before and for a foodie this is pretty darn great. It had just the right amount of spiciness… soooo gooood. My family ate great and there were no complaints. I will definitely come again.

E-star is my favorite buffet chain in Houston. I usually go to the Katy location and am happy there. This was my first time at this location. The servers are very friendly. Our server Andy was on point; super attentive, polite, and smiley. He brought plenty of napkins, and always kept our water refilled. I will definitely request his section next time! They we’re constantly bringing out fresh food and exchanging trays on the buffet line. The hot items were hot and the sushi was cold; perfect. There was a variety of different foods, not everything was fried(I love that). The baked salmon was fantastic. The tables and booths were clean, and the servers bussed tables quickly. It was definitely family friendly. There were a variety of table top sizes, and what looked like a private room off to the side; good to know if I ever have to have a large gathering. My only request would be to have a tofu dish.

I came here with my son and sat down to eat. During the first plate not even half way i found hair in my rice. The waiter was there as i pulled it out of my mouth and apologized. Management blamed their customers children saying they play in the food and arent supervised. I obviously stopped eating and will go buy something when i leave but i find it horrible that the owner and management deal with situations like this… i still payed for my food so i am buying dinner twice! Yay me… i will NEVER eat here again. Horrible customer service.

Only giving this place 2 stars because our of the service and how nice it looks. The food is absolutely terrible. Not one thing I got was good. Don’t waste your money.

This place has a nice LED sign that catches your attention. The inside looks way too fancy with its décor. The food was edible. Compared to other Chinese buffets there wasn’t a huge food selection. Just 3 rows of selections. Other local competitors have larger selections.

This is a pretty decent buffet for the Willowbrook area. I have yet to find a better choice

Attentive and Friendly Staff! Run of the mill Houston Chinese buffet. Gluttony at its best! A gazillion items being served for a nine dollar lunch. Don’t expect it to be the Ritz Carlton. It’s a lot of variety of food for the money.

Was not the best or the worst Chinese food I’ve had. It was very greasy and the hot and sour soup tasted like dirty dishes water. The sushi and rolls had no taste at all, they were very bland. There is not much of a selection to be called a Seafood, Sushi Chinese buffet. Will not be going back.

I know this is a buffet and my foodie status(self-bestowed) might be questioned here, but the food is yummy and the kids have all their favorites. I really like the sushi, too.

Food selection is ok. but taste is lacking. Never has Spicey Mayo around for Sushi! They need to work on Flavor of food. Dessert bar is lacking. Same items for years. I visit here once every 3mos because kids ask to come but they never eat for value of of plate. Waitstaff lacking is mediocre.

This is one of my favorite buffets. They have a great variety of selection and refill the food promptly when items are running low. I’ve been coming to this location for a few years now since it’s opened. Top picks: Clams in scampi sauce Salmon sashimi Octopus salad Pepper chicken and shrimp Green beans Baked salmon Baked mussels Salt & pepper shrimp Salt & pepper crab Pozole(I love honeycomb tripe) Egg drop & hot and sour soup Plenty of sushi rolls to choose from Mushrooms in brown sauce Eggrolls Seasame honey peanuts(near the desert) I feel like they have something for everyone at this buffet even for the picky eaters.

Buffets are a means to an end: You’re hungry, indecisive on what to eat; all that you know for sure is that you plan to shovel it down. Quantity is the name of the game. E-Star gets brownie points for its décor. It reminds me of the love child of a cruise ship lounge and a Japanese karaōke bar; it’s neat. The place is clean, staff is friendly, and they don’t let the food sit out and petrify.

This place has a tremendous value for lunch. Will definetly go back for a dinner and see if the items on the buffet change at all. Even if they don’t what they did have was good, but more so than that the interior decoration sets this buffet apart from any we have been to in Houston. Reminds you of a Vegas casino how they have several distinct designs for various sections of the eatery. To me the decoration is just a cherry on top. I did not have any dish that was bad. A couple I tried was not my preference, but not bad. This will be a new go to.

This is not a cheap buffet, but on the other hand, the food is never cheap either. The dining ambiance is great for a date, the food is always hot, fresh, and delicious, and the choice is outstanding. From buffet line to table all the way to restroom, E Star is always clean. Staff is always courteous and friendly, but it seems that about half the time they bring me the wrong bill, so you’ll have to stay on top of that or you could wind up treating a family of four when it is just your wife and you. Overall it’s a wonderful dining experience.

This is my favorite Chinese buffet. Totally rad design and atmosphere. My friend complained about the price but I thought it was fair. I think it’s around $ 15. Great sushi for a buffet. Lots of choices. Low light and they always sit the bratty noisy kids far away from couples without kids or with good kids.

The E Star gets 5 stars for its interior look. It is very sleek and modern… very out of the norm for any type of chinese restaurant. The food is fairly standard to a buffet. The quality is what you would expect from a chinese buffet.

I like that they have a variety of food! But some food items just didn’t have flavor; it was bland. I loved the shrimp that was pan fried. The pepper steak was bland. The watermelon was not sweet. Service was fine. Not my favorite place but the food isn’t terrible.

I never eat at buffets just because most are bad but e star puts out good food. Yeah its not the healthiest but for the price and taste it’s overall a really good deal. Food is alway hot and fresh. Really good fruits and ice cream. Great dishes. Great service.

Once in a while when we are in the mood for Chinese food we stop in here for a quick bite. They have a great selection of stir fried vegetables, General Tsao chicken, lo mein, peppered steak, a wide variety of sushi, and much more. Tea/drink is also kept filled and the staff is very friendly.

Love, love, love this place. Big buffet, great atmosphere and decent service. The food is pretty darn good by buffet standards. You must try the salmon. I can’t speak for the sushi aspect, I like my food to be cooked, but I’ve heard good things. The crab is usually devastatingly over cooked, but I’m just nit-picking. They have really good cocktail sauce if you’re into that… I am. Crawfish, calamari, several shrimp options and GREAT crab wontons keep me coming back time and time again.

For a buffet, I like the food here. I do not say that food was all real homemade/healthy or I do not think that they are fresh and made from what it really is, but it satisfied my craving for 10 different things in one plate, which is why I am here in the first place. And I allow myself to stuff my face every other month so I am very selective before I waste my two month wait. We came in on a Sunday night and it was 15 minutes wait. Fine. Servers do not, or better say, cannot pay attention to all the hungry people with 3 plates on table with 3 coming a second later. Crawfish was dead aka not fresh BUT the fried soft shell crab was very good and full of hot fresh taste beside being really salty, hey it’s Chinese buffet style food, lot of salt and sugar, so if you get over that health concern part, I would eat here again and again.

My parents are always dining here because they love buffets! I can’t complain. It’s a buffet and everything is self served. The food here is always fresh and tastes great compared to any other Asian buffet I have tried in Houston. Sushi is good(4⁄5), they have pizza, crawfish when it’s in season, soups, salad, sausage, and so much more! If I want to come in to stuff my tummy, I know I can do it here easily. The ice cream machine and their cones are my favorite. I can eat about three of those if I wanted haha. Call me a fatty, but I am going to eat all I can eat!

Could’ve sworn I wrote a review for this place before. Anyhoo… I’ve visted this location quite a few times & must say it’s better than many of the other buffets in the area. The décor is modern & they have ample seating. Visited during lunch, dinner & weekend busy hours & never felt like I had to step over people to get to items. The food selection is a wide range, so there’s something for everyone. Sushi rolls, classic Chinese dishes, crawfish, salads, fried & baked fish dishes can be found. Each time I’ve come the food has been fresh. Some items are pretty good, while others are just ok. Nothing I’ve had has just been horrid. Their dessert section could use a few more options, but I guess they figure that’s not what most people come to a Chinese buffett for in the 1st place. The times I’ve been there, the buffet, seating area & ladies’ room have been kept clean. Service from staff has always been friendly. Overall, pretty good option for buffet dining.
