I’ve been here many times and each time it gets better! The portions are huge and it’s super cheap! The price ranges from $ 5-$ 8 for a big bowl. The staff is super friendly and always give the best service possible. The food is always very fresh. Must try this place if you’re in the area!

Are you a vegetarian or have one in your life? This is the place for you! They have a great selection of common Vietnamese dishes and noodle soups. Even being a meat-eater myself, the portions were still delicious, satisfying and filling. I had the Bun Bo Hue and slurped up the whole thing. Plus they have a variety of ready made foods like stir fried vegetables, desserts, snacks and more. Nice staff. FYI cash only.

I go here when I need my vegetarian fix. Love everything and end up getting more than I can eat. Usually it takes me at least 2 days to finish it. Must try the bánh mì, the cm ch, and the ready made food. You will be surprise how tasty tofu and vegie taste.

We were two brothers on the hunt for a good Banh Mi place and saw this one while passing on Wilcrest. This neighborhood is known for great Vietnamese food so we pulled a u-turn and went back thinking it looked good. We walked in and immediately realized this was a «vegetarian» place and here we are, two meat eaters. Everyone was so warm and inviting, though, so we figured«what the heck, let’s do it!» Boy what a treat this place was. They have a vegetarian equivalent to just about everything you’d get at a traditional Vietnamese restaurant. All of the veggies are delicious, fresh, and served in generous portions. There are also plenty of ready-to-go items out that you can grab and go. The spring rolls were wonderful as were both our sandwiches. The iced tea was delicious. What got me was the service. These are nice folks through and through. And talk about CLEAN. We had two sandwiches, 3 spring rolls, and two iced teas for $ 9.00. You can’t beat that price! We will definitely be back.

Amazing vegetarian/vegan food. If you are the type of vegetarian/vegan that doesn’t like the taste of meat, then don’t come here because most of the items feature imitation meat. Lots of premade dishes stacked inside and outside the fridges. I had the phở which while pricey at $ 7 tasted like a classic photo without the greasy aftertaste. This is incredible since most vegetarian phos I’ve had at phở restaurants don’t taste anything close to their traditional items. I tasted the vegan bun bo hue but did not think its lemongrass flavour was strong enough and it wasn’t heavily spiced. The banh mi dac biet chay tasted similar to a traditional banh mi thit(mixed), only again not fatty tasting. The spring rolls tasted fresh and I prefer the imitation fish sauce since it didn’t stink like the real stuff.

Customer service was excellent. Friendly family owned place. The place looked clean. There were a lot of pre-made foods to choose from. The vegetarian sandwich was ok, could use more«meat». The carrots and radish was good. I tried the Pick 3 items for $ 5, and I was disappointed at how little food I was given. It just filled half the box; got about 3 – 4 pieces of each kind and not much white rice either. The taste was okay, it was more salty then how I like so I didn’t need soy sauce. I’ve had better vegetarian food at the temples. I would go here again if the other vegetarian restaurant is close.

The restaurant? Clean, accessible, and courteous. The food? Pitch-perfect, full of fresh ingredients. I’ve only had one banh mi in Houston that tasted better, but the Original I had here was more fulfilling. No meat, no grease, no too-full feeling. The line moves fast. Don’t be discouraged if you have to wait.

The place is so clean and their phở is so yummy! They also sell vegetarian/vegan products to cook. I wish someone had told me about this place earlier when I was looking for vegan phở! The staff are also really nice and answers any questions/concerns.

I was looking for a vegetarian grocery store and I came across this place. They have some to go dishes, I try some of it. I was impressed, so I came back for their sandwich. It was really good too. If you decided to become a vegetarian, this is the place for you.

Almost everything in here is delish with very good prices. I have decided on going semi vegetarian for a good health and better lifestyle. This is the place I regularly visit. I love their Bun Bo Hue and Mi Bo Kho. Don’t forget to try their Banh Mi Dac Biet and Banh Cuon. In my opinion, they taste«BOMB»! Super yummy!

Was looking for a place with Vietnamese sandwiches. Found Duys and was impressed. Main thing here is the«no meat» thing and … Kinda freaked me out but lots of the Asian cultures are vegetarian so I figured why not? Got one sandwich, for $ 3(!!!) and totally filled me up!!! Like that’s a fast food bargain, man! And it tasted SOGOOD! Gave it only 4 starts bc it’s cash only, but who cares! Find some change in your purse, girls!

If you want a great, healthy fix of vegetarian food, this family owned restaurant the place to go. I come here almost every weekend for a BBQ sandwich or a $ 5 rice combo. Service is extremely friendly and quick. Only downside is it gets so busy on Asian holidays that they run out of sandwiches sometimes. Definitely recommend!

Hu tieu chay– 4⁄5 Bun bo hue– 3⁄5 Spring rolls– 5⁄5 Banh mi– 3⁄5 Chicken sate– 4⁄5 The portions of the noodles were huge but I felt as if my bun bo hue was a bit bland. It tasted ok though but overall I think I’ll be back for the spring rolls they were really good. The chicken sate had too much ginger and I didn’t like that. The staff here is also nice

Hard for me to give 5 stars, but this place is good for vegetarian. Their sandwiches are also yummy. And if you buy 5 one is free on the house. That is nice. Try the bun bo hue, so far I like it. Will be seeing me again.

We had hu tieu, bun bo and bun mam yesterday. They were delicious overall although the broths of bun bo and bun mam were pretty similar. The portion is huge. Will try phở next time. We also bought banh mi dac biet to-go(remember to ask them to put the pickle veggie separately if you don’t plan to eat on the same day). Buy 5& get 1 free, $ 3-$ 3.5 each.

Vegan phở, people. Delicious. The place has sandwiches in the name, but only 7 of the 27 menu items are sandwiches. The rest are Vietnamese soups, stews, and curries. The menu is entirely vegetarian, with many vegan items. CASHONLY. There also are some premade entrees and refrigerated/frozen packaged vegan and vegetarian items for sale. I love the vegetarian phở at Phở One, but this is even better. It’s in the shopping center on the NE corner of Wilcrest and Bellaire(same center as Quan Yin), on the Wilcrest side. The shop signs for the center are under construction so you need to read the windows. The biggest text on the window says Tiem Chay, and it only says DUY Sandwiches to the left of the door.

My dad discovered this place. I believe most of the items are vegan, definitely up to the Buddhist vegetarian standards. No meat! I love eating vegetarian food so getting vegetarian banh mi here is good eating. They make alot of the noodle soup dishes in vegetarian form. Veggie bun bo hue, veggie bun mam, etc. I think it satisfies the craving but true carnivores may argue with me. :) They sell some desserts like banh da lon and banh com. Also hot dishes like veggie stir fries and they do have other items for sale like canh kho qua(stuffed bitter melon soup that is stuffed with tofu instead of pork). My favorite pick ups are the vegetarian banh cuon(rice rolls) stuffed with tofu and mushrooms and a non fish sauce dipping sauce. Also like to get the veggie goi cuon(spring rolls)! Cheap and good for the vegetarians or anyone needing a break from meat.

No meat here what so ever, sandwich, soup and all. Purely accidentally found the place while looking for a phở place that’s opened before breakfast(Thats good). Lucky for me that this place is not bad at all, even while thinking about the no meat during the entire time. The *phở and *Combo BanhMi are both very tasty for something made from grass and other vegetations. But a meatball sandwich that has no meat? So no headaches, lack of energy or loss of strength to report after this *green meal. It’s very odd, but I kinda like it?
