Retail Cashiering: Chapter 1, page 1… 1. Make eye contact with paying customer. 2. Smile at paying customer. 3. Greet paying customer. 4. Choose a friendly question to ask paying customer: A. «How are you today»? B. «Did you find everything ok»? C. For bonus points, go the extra mile and ask both! D. For super duper bonus points, thank the paying customer. I am not sure what the stonefaced girl with whatever that green thing was in her hair’s issue was yesterday afternoon, buy she clearly never read that chapter. I found it incredulous that someone who actually worked there would walk up, frowning, never utter a word or make eye contact, ring up my stuff and then not even say what the total was! It’s a good thing I mistakenly touched what appeared to be a «touch screen» instead of hitting the little buttons, because that gave me the opportunity to hear her lovely voice tell me «No, you gotta use the buttons, that isn’t a touch screen, everyone does that». Too bad the service sucked so bad, because the store itself, for being a dollar store, was probably merchandised the most neatly of any I’ve ever been in. At any rate, after I was fortunate enough to have had that awesome interaction at the register, I told myself to have a nice day and didn’t let the door hit me in the ass on the way out.

Just a dollar. Everything is a dollar. You won’t regret buying something you don’t like. Because… it’s just a dollar. I shop here so much, not because I can’t afford to pay more than a dollar. Their merchandise are fairly useful and priced right. So, I got what I paid for. Staff could be a little corky sometimes. But they’re always friendly. After all, we know everything is just a dollar.

Friendly staff that greet you when you walk in. The store when I visited was a little disorganized because the staff was re-stocking but it has all of the standard items you would find in the store. If you are looking to travel this is the place to pick up small items along with candy and snacks for the trip.

Shopping list: Travel sized stuff, cheap ear buds, candy for plane, extra dog bowls, pet toys, garbage bags, ziploc bags, kleenex, tissue paper and gift bag, hand soap, germ-x for purse. I used to pop in to the Target in this same shopping center if my list looked something like this. Now, I’ll stop at the Dollar Tree first to cross off all items from my list and save some dinero in the process. Even though this store is fairly new, it’s already unorganized because of the huge quantities of stuff in this store. It’s still worth braving the sometimes mild chaos to get good deals on household items and snacks though. Also, they have full sized Pearson mint patties and Charleston chews. Am I the only one that LOVES these things?
