It was fun wasn’t ghetto but the only reason I was dancing was because my sorority sisters were so were got the party started… a bunch of stuck upgirls trying to weave their way thru our sorority so being the biotches that we are we pushed them out haha! but I was 19 and I got in with ease it was a blast the restrooms are alright the mirror is good to fix yourself. You do have to wait a bit to get your drinks unless you’re V.I.P

«You can’t park there!» the unibrowed valet guy barked at me as I got out of my car and walked towards Bedrock. «This is all District parking, you have to pay me or we’ll tow you!» Oh, eat a dick. There is something about a club in a strip mall that brings up the same emotional turmoil as finding out a friend wants to marry a prostitute.

Wasn’t really poppin’ when I went here. Not sure if that’s a regular thing, I hear Houston clubs don’t get busy til midnight, but I was there til 11:30 or so and it didn’t seem like it was gonna pick up. Oh well, maybe Houston clubs happen like flash floods, they just all come rushing in after midnight?

I went here a couple of times, both times for a birthday party. Why would one of my friends want to host their bday party here??? Anyways the location is odd, it’s behind the main part of washington, more like the 2nd layer of clubs. It’s a very awkward location almost like the corner of a strip center. Instead of creating a patio, they just take some of the parking lot and rope it off to create their patio. Once inside it’s pseudo chic. Drink prices are high but the crowd can vary, sometimes ghetto, sometimes no one.

After our group was rudely rejected from Avenue(see my review — will never return there), we ended up here, although we weren’t in the best mood. Thanks to the bouncer and especially to the bartender Nikki for lifting our spirits. My husband and I were about ready to go when my brother and his girlfriend suggested going here, to District Lounge. We go right in with no problem and headed straight for the outdoor bar where we told the bartender how bummed we were. She mixed us both a special concoction which was one-of-a-kind and delicious. She did a great job of cheering us up. Not to mention, we enjoyed the mix of music and the vibe of the place. I would definitely go back!

this place is ghetto! Just look at the kind of crowd that goes in there, not only that it is super small and everyone is always in your way!

I guess this is where the party jumps off at night on SUNDAYS! Going out on a Sunday night is rare for me these days. But when the occasion calls for a celebration, I’m always in a celebratory mood. Sunday Fundae is not what it used to be. So being out-of-the-loop and not knowing what to expect can be deflating. When we rolled up, I was relieved to see a large diverse crowd outside on the patio. For a Sunday, there was a good turnout. Atmosphere is very chill. Attire is relaxed. Drinks were not too too pricey. Crowds are predominantly young and in their 20’s. The downside about this place was the eclectic selection of top 40. DJ was all over the place on song genres. Also they close at 12. If it is still crowded, why not stay open longer? Not like it’s happening any other night.

After scouring Unilocal for a good place to dance for a bachelorette party, we ended up reserving a table at District Lounge. No one in the group had gone here before so I was apprehensive but the reviews were good. I got prompt responses from the lounge using their online reservation system. We got to the club about 11pm and it wasn’t very crowded but as the night went on it was packed. From what I remember the music was good… we were dancing almost the entire time we were there. They had a Goose special for $ 200 included mixers/tax/tip, but I gave the waitress an extra $ 20 but never saw her again after she set up our bottle. All the girls had a great time so I would definitely recommend this place.

I just wanted to give District 5 stars for their amazing service on Saturday night. We had a terrible experience at DIEM(never go there) and they let our entire party in(which was over 50 ppl) with no problems. Music was great, bartenders were awesome, door guy is as sweet as it gets, unlike the douche bags at Diem. Thanks guys!

Wandered into District after our annual Skanksgiving party(don’t ask, its tradition!) on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I had never been there like most of the«upscale» Washington bars. It was around 11:30 and we had no problem getting in witha group. Nice bartenders, nice people, good crowd, not too young. Would go there again.

I love Sundae Fundays at District. The best party place on Sunday nights, often with themed parties. Crowd is late 20’s to early 30’s and the typical en vogue Washington nightlife scene. Many great things: pretty big front patio with a bar Inside is lavishly designed however, it’s kinda small. Bartenders are hot in corsets. A lot of diversity Good music Good location on Washington Great place. Go there!

This isn’t a review of the business, but rather the promoter that throws the parties on Fridays and the bouncer. Funk Fridays hosted by Raj Sharma. How funky was it? I have no idea, because I didn’t get in. Let me be clear, I am usually not one to be upset at not being let into a party or a club. Each establishment has the right to choose their dress code, and if I don’t meet it, then it’s my fault. I was wearing a button-up and jeans, but they only had issue with my shoes. Just don’t let in others wearing the same type of shoes, after you and your bouncer lecture me adamantly about how no one with athletic shoes can even step foot into the building. At the end of the night when we came back to pick up a few friends, several people came out looking like Young Jeezy… with a fresh pair of nikes on. Be consistent with your dress code.

DONOTEVERVALETYOURCARHERE!!! They are thieves. They stole from our car a pair of prada sunglasses, cologne, itouch and credit cards they made charges to. all were tucked neatly in a bag in the compartment. when you try and call management, they’ll just say there’s nothing they can do. WHAT A JOKE!!! NEVERCOMEHERE!!!

This is the FIRST time I’ve ever ranked any night/evening establishment with four stars. I’ll try not to hype it up too much as it seems many clubs/bars tend to go downhill after some people get too excited about it. District is the old Citizen and I’m glad there’s new ownership. We got into the door no problem at 11:45. Everyone in there was dressed appropriately and I was shocked that there were no Ed Hardy/Affliction-sporting fellas in there! AMEN! DJ mixed videos from his laptop. All the music had a danceable beat and was mostly a mix of popular hip hop/reggaeton. Let’s be honest. That’s what gets people moving. Next thing you know, you’ll be singing along to «Party in the USA» even though you hate Miley Cyrus. Bartenders were blonde, fit females wearing black hot shorts and black tank tops. Bouncer was nice enough to confirm that my friend was note driving. Décor is nice with 60s inspired light fixtures and red upholstery. There were 3 U-shaped sofas that are meant for bottle service. There’s also an outdoor seating area at the front of the club. A successful night. I plan to be back as long as they maintain this caliber!

New ownership and super friendly staff! Manager Kimmy and bartender Joe rocked. The door was also friendly and gave us complimentary drink tickets. DJ was great on a Friday night, a mix of old school, top 40 and dance. We were told the newly renovated patio will be open soon. If you are looking for a no drama place to party with huge booths/tables for bottle service, this is your place. I look forward to returning soon.
