I was pleasantly surprised at how much i enjoyed myself at Diallos. I met a coworker here at 6pm on a friday and we had a blast! Apparently, they have live music on fridays. Its a fairly large place – between a hole-in-the-wall and a nightclub, but the crowd is mature(40+), the waitresses were so sweet(Tiffany took care of us all night) and they pour great drinks. I believe their happy hour ends at 7, $ 3.50 mixed drinks and $ 5.00 premium liquor(crown royal, hennessey etc). No cover charge. They served complimentary food around 7:30pm which included pork chops and gumbo(which was very tasty). The DJ was GREAT, not to mention hilarious! The live band consisted of a male and female vocalist, both were awesome and the band was pretty good! They also have a back room which is beautiful and great for parties. I believe they have 3 bars and a pool table towards the front, although i didn’t get a chance to see it. I had a really good time and plan to visit at least once or twice a month!

Babe(in my New Orleans Accent), this place gave me every thing, life without parole! I went on a Thursday which is Zydeco Night and J Paul was playing. When I tell you I walked in here cute and hair was in tact, and left out sweaty looking like I been in a fight, because I danced that much. The music rolled the whole night, and the people dance a lot, in fact the dance floor stays packed. Granted many would say this is a hole in the wall, but it’s my type of hole. Like Mel Waiter said I’ve had my best times in the hole wall, and Diallo’s definitely fits this description.

Every time I go I have a good time. The drinks are good and reasonably priced. The waitresses are cool and the music really doesn’t repeat itself. like at some other clubs. Every night is a different theme and that is what makes it so good.

Me and the girls had a blast here. Once people found out it was my birthday, I started getting money pinned on me. So far 80 bucks… lol! But anyway, we got free drinks and gumbo(we crashed Davids party). When I come to Houston I will be back. Oh, it only cost 5 bucks to get in and the drinks are cheap and strong! They play current hip-hop and R&B with old school. The perfect mix for me!

I don’t really care for this club, but their advertisement is great. I’ve become a sucker for bike night and happy hour. I like the fact that they always cater to bikers, the doorman remembers you, and the early crowd is pretty descent. Don’t stay too long as things become a bit sketchy. Also, be careful of parking down the road, on the street, across from the convenient store. Cars are broken into on a regular basis. That may be due to the police presence that harassing me and my motorcycle President about taking drinks across the street, rather than patrolling the entire area. Either way, this is somewhat of a regular spot for me…

So I gave this place a few shots. Crowd over 30 and if your in your 30s you may see see folk your parents age laughing it up having fun. Seems to be hit or miss. First time I went to Sunday bike night. It was packed. Waited literally for 35 minutes for a drink. Bartender looked straight thru me standing directly at bar to get his buddies behind me drinks. FIRST time ever as a female getting that from male bartender. Second time, tuesday for comedy. The comedy show doesn’t start til 9 but worth a looksee if you dont get up early Wednesday morning. Thats primarily all 3 stars. Ali Saddig does a heck of a job. Came for happy hour on a friday around 6 and it was dead. No wine in happy hour but friendly bartenders. Bike nite this past sunday was dead. There were literally 4 folks there. Everyone was at Dreams. Packed over there. So some days its ok I guess. I love old school clubs but dont think I ll be back except comedy nite

I have been trying to give this club a chance for 2 years. A few of the female bartenders are nice and since I normally give a great tip, I get pretty good drinks. However, other employees that work there-not so nice. A guy working the door in a security uniform would always start some mess with me at the entrance. Have not seen him on my last few visits. New guy watching the parking lot-Rude! Bar handlers-Rude! Tried to talk to the owner-RUDE!!! The D.J. does not play enough rap-even the songs cleared for radio play. 2 drinks including tip normally runs me about $ 20.00 and if I am having a great time I might have 6, drinks, but the owner advised me that my business was not important and that I should go somewhere else. My response to her-«Thanks for the tip.»

If you are not looking for the overly posh crowd and instead looking for a group of people who are out to enjoy themselves, WELL this is the place. Normally throughout the week there is no cover charge and very minimal on the weekends. The crowd is traditionally 30 and over. The music is a combination of old school, zydeco, step, and a small bit of the newer music. Overall, it is a good spot to enjoy a night out.

Nice place… nice crowd. strong drinks(avg. $ 9.00)! Arrived early, 9:02 pm, got in free! Parked on the street, so free parking. Usually this Club charges $ 5 to park and $ 5 cover charge at 9:00 pm. Loved DJ, Played everything HIPHOP, R&B TOLINEDANCING music! Heard they usually just play old skool R&B, but it was All-star weekend so he played for the crowd! Nice setting… cute lounge chairs and seating. 3 sections and a bar in each, large dance floor in middle section. Con… waitress disappeared when the club got packed! Had to go through 3 different wait staff. Overall you’ll have a lot of fun!

Not bad at all. In fact, I’ll make it one of my spots on sundays. Drink specials, not so much. Maybe its me but $ 10.50 is a bit much for a beer and a shot. But the atmosphere is nice and the staff equally so. Nice music selection and adequate parking(for bikes, lol). I must admit I really like the place with plenty of security.

I enjoyed myself at this old school club. Even though I am thirty years old I like the atmosphere. The drinks are strong and cheap! I’ve been here twice now and am looking to have my birthday party here. The people are friendly and the location is nice even though it reminds me of my Grandmother’s old house with the plastic on the chairs… LMAO! I would refer this to others who are looking for a great place to chill and have grown folks conversation.

Great neighborhood R&B bar, though too crowded on weekend nights. Very friendly service, nice retro vibe.

Tucked in 3rd ward is a cool lil dive bar/club called Diallo’s of Houston. This is the type of place that if you’re 25 or under, you’ve probably never even been in. The crowd is older african-american, and they play pretty much nothing current. Instead, they rely heavy on Zydeco and old school motown r&b. It’s not uncommon to see a velvet suit, or a feather in a hat here as some of the old school dudes look like something straight out of shaft. The crowd however is the friendliest bunch of people. I think that’s partly due to the age of the group. Grown ups doing grown up things. The drink prices are reasonable, and strong, and the décor is late 70’s complete with plastic still on the seats lol. Whenever I go to Diallo’s I can be sure of 2 things, A. I’m the youngest person there(at 30) and B. I’ll leave drunk for under $ 20. I can’t beat that at all…
