So far, the water has a funny taste. The staff is slow, easily overwhelmed, and standing around instead of bussing. The food is not as good as I thought it would be. Everything tastes burnt: the burger, pita chips, regular chips.

On our way to Jamaica for 7 days in paradise and our 1 year anniversary we had an overnight at the Houston Marriott and decided to eat at Ck’s. It was cozy, the menu had something for everyone. I had the deviled eggs and lettuce wraps and hubby had the pork chop medium well. Wine flights, our favorite Titos was available, a cozy romantic table in the lounge with football on all screens to satisfy the men! What made our experience over the top phenomenal was our server Arianna! She was attentive to our needs in ensuring our glasses were never empty. She was funny and personal making the kick off to our 1 year anniversary a fantastic celebratory event! She brought us chocolate cake with happy anniversary written on the plate! Delicious! We thought it couldn’t be any better until we found a hallmark card from this divine Angel under our hotel room door wishing us a wonderful time on our trip and a happy anniversary! We still tell friends that story and can’t wait to stay in Houston again so we can see Arianna and thank her in person! Lots of love! Lu & Reggie.

Food won’t blow your mind, but the freshly made guacamole was good. Nice bourbon selection as well, but the staff is taking customer service to the next level. From Andrea at the door to Wendy on the floor, friendly, attentive and efficient. The restaurant may not actually revolve, but the experience will spin you.

The brisket was fatty, and not very good. Also the queso tasted powdered and the salsa seemed like ketchup with tomatoes. The food was mediocre and very expensive for what we got. Hamburger was also okay, with a hit of pork sausage maybe. **Skip all main dishes and go right to chocolate cake. Best chocolate cake I’ve ever eaten**

Wow, that was pretty bad. The food was the equivalent of a Chilies or Applebee’s, and the time it took for our meals and even dessert was very long. Wish we had grabbed a taxi and chosen something different.

I had time to kill waiting for a delayed flight and needed lunch. I have never been to the Marriott here and I thought I would go by for lunch. You have to take the inter terminal train to get there. This is the train that is underground and you have to exit security to get to it. When you get to the Hotel stop on the train line you take the elevator to R which stands for restaurant. The restaurant is an oval design which gives you a 360 degree view of the airport property. It is about 4 – 5 stories tall. I believe the restaurant used to revolve but doesn’t anymore. The interior décor is somewhat dated but acceptable. I took a pic of the menu. Lowest priced meals are burgers and sandwiches at approx. $ 15. Dinner entrees run into the $ 30’s. I ordered the roast turkey BLT(see pic) with tea. It also comes with fries or homemade potato chips which is what I chose. The food came out about 10 minutes later. The sandwich was good(3). The meat was very cool which helped make it a good sandwich. I had to ask for some extra mayo because my sandwich was very light on the amount spread on it in the kitchen. Also, the chips were good and freshly cooked(3). My service was good. Total cost with tax and tip was $ 20. I can’t comment on the other menu items however my feeling is that the food here is on par with what you can get in the airport for the most part. If you have time and want to get out of the airport consider coming here. The main reason you would want to come here is the view. There is also a full bar. P. S. This restaurant will be closing later in 2015 and move to the lobby level which means no view. I was told that the space it currently occupies will be used for banquet purposes. That will then take away the main reason for coming here. When that happens I would recommend staying in the airport to eat.

A renaissance of the senses is the closest description of my bar experience at CK restaurant. From the musical talent to the exquisite service provided, I certainly experienced a revival of the arts. The personal visit from the chef was also a nice and unexpected touch. Monsieur Gaughan was a masterful host on our culinary adventure. Brooke and Jee provided a divine level of service which had me question whether I was eating wings or enjoying ambrosia as the food of the gods. If I was ever lost in the ecstasy of the experience of CKs, Patti would ground me and remind me that this was not a dream but rather one meal at a special venue.

My flight attendant crew and I came to this restaurant last night. Our server’s name was Arianna. She was nice as can be. The food and wine was good. The reason why I am giving it only 2 stars is because our server cheated me on the bill. My bill was $ 66.25. I put $ 40 in cash(a $ 20, $ 10, &2 $ 5 bills) and the balance to be charged on my visa card. I admit though I did not check to see if she charged me only $$ 26.25 which would be on my visa. I signed the merchant copy and added $ 12 as a tip. I just checked my receipt a minute ago, and she charged my credit card $ 40.25 snd not tge $ 26.25 it shoukd have been. She STOLE $ 14 from me!!! I’m not happy about this at all.

Nice bar, but this place wasn’t revolving! I like the veiws and the location. Service was good and the beer was cold. There are not a lot of options in this hotel and if you want to get out of the airport feel, this is a good spot!

Can’t say anything about the food as I didn’t have any, but I stopped in for a drink when my ride from the airport was taking longer than expected. All I can say, nicest waitress /host that I’ve ever had in any restaurant. Also, great view of the planes taking off and landing(but as quiet as can be.)

CK’s(NON) Revolving Rooftop Restaurant was quite a disappointment either I was smashed or I got caught in some kind of a time warp every time I looked out the window I saw the same view lol just kidding it doesn’t revolve anymore so if you have some kind of fetish regarding spinning while you eat save yourself some disappointment and stay away because besides the very very friendly wait staff there is nothing special here. This place specializes in remembering your name I think they concentrate so hard to get your name right they forget what you ordered. Patti was my sever and she had the cutest smile and a great personality and never bothered me to the point that that bothered me. The weather was threatening and I think they were short on help e.g. No bartender so drinks were slow. I ordered under Patti’s advisement the Cheese Burger and Fries the table setting was nice the fries were really cold hence the reason I think they were short on help, my burger was nothing to brag about it was bland and cold as well so was my beer so the trio was complete. Wara was either the manager or standing in for management and was extremely friendly as well and she too remembered my name after asking only once and proved it several times over the evening. This place in on top of the Marriott Hotel and is accessible by 3 very very very very slow elevators in the lobby the hotel is located between terminates C and B promise you can’t miss it the train ride was nice and free. If you are hungry eat behind security then exit to go here for a drink I don’t see myself returning anytime soon.

For being an airport restaurant it is ok. I ordered the cheese burger which came out after about 15 minutes it was done well the flavor felt like the meat was frozen before. It is possible that my taste buds are wrong. The service is ok, nothing to brag about. From the looks of it this place seems to be the best option in this airport.

Was staying at the hotel for a business meeting and we decided to try the restaurant. It is a bit upscale, but you do not have to dress up. The service was pretty good, and the food was solid. I would say that it is very expensive for the food that we got, but if you are on business, I guess that is ok. We all enjoyed the food(flounder, Mahi, vegetarian napoleon, catch of day, and prime steak) and left satisfied.

Great spot at the airport. Good food great service and reasonable prices with a view. What more do you want at an airport.

The revolving feature of this place is cool for about five seconds. Then you are just annoyed that you have to think about which way is the shortest to the bathroom at that given time. The food is mediocre at best. The appetizers were OK. Not helpful if you do not enjoy sea food. The steak crustinis were solid. They were bland, but edible. For my meal i ordered the fillet mignon along with scalloped potato’s. The fillet was cooked properly but lacked any flavor. They did not season it in any way. Not even a little salt and pepper. The potato’s were OK. They were cooked properly which can be an issue with scalloped potato’s. There is not much worse than biting into a crisp undercooked potato slice. It is over priced. That is normal for a hotel, but still not acceptable. The meals should be half price or less for the quality.

I would not go back to this place, I am pretty sure it gets business by default(people stuck in the hotel without any other options) but the food I received was not worth the extremely high price I paid for my dinner. Reasons not to dine here: #1I f you are ordering wine by the glass, their selection is TERRIBLE, and who likes paying $ 12 for an average glass of wine? I could buy a bottle of the same wine I ordered at Kroger for the glass price. #2 They have an extremely limited menu. I ordered the fillet Mignon, which was $ 37. It came out overcooked and I sent it back. #3 I added the«Oscar» topping to my steak, lump crab meat and hollandaise, which was an extra $ 10. The«Oscar» topping came on the side and was generous, however, the crab meat had shells in it. GROSS. I don’t mind paying a price for quality, but I really don’t like picking shell pieces out of my meal. #4 Their creamed spinach was horrible. Frozen creamed spinach from the grocery store is WAY better. #5 This Restaurant rotates too quickly. I have been to the Space Needle restaurant in Seattle on multiple occasions, which also rotates, and have always enjoyed myself. I found myself a little dizzy at this place about halfway through dinner. #6 My total bill was $ 80, for a meal which was mediocre at best. I only had ONE glass of wine, the steak and the creamed spinach. No salad, starter or soup. This is not a ride you want to be taking, unless you want to be dizzy and full of crappy food. Also, the restaurant was pretty empty. I guess the word is out this place blows.

Stranded overnight in at IAH, there are very few options for food, once you’re outside the secure area. And if you’re staying in the airport Marriott and you don’t have wheels, there are absolutely no other options. Fortunately, there’s CK’s. I glanced at the posted menu for the main restaurant and had to pass — lots of really expensive meals, probably to subsidize the revolving restaurant. But right next door is the bar with a large seating area and a reasonable menu of bar food. On this particular Friday night with a large number of canceled flights, the place was full. And no organized system for waiting for the next table. Thankfully, everyone waiting seemed to get it and people maintained a line. My cheeseburger was ordered rare and arrived closer to medium well, and with added bacon on an extremely hot plate. But it was still good and exactly hit the spot for a quick meal after a long flight. Rather expensive though — $ 20 with a single draft beer. Would I eat here again? Yes, but only because there really aren’t any other options.

In the post 9⁄11 world, many things have changed. One of the minor things that can causes a huge inconvenience is not letting people past a certain point in an airport. In a huge place like Bush Intercontinental, this can be a pain for getting people to check in early, but not wanted to leave them there for 3 hours alone. The last time my parents visited, we got them to the airport about 3 hours early(yes, Alaska is part of the US, but seriously, you wouldn’t believe the amount of people – who work in the travel industry no less – who think otherwise) to check in and make sure everything was okay. Course, we got hungry and decided we’d try to get some food. No deal. Can’t go to the restaurants since they are all past the x-rays now. Luckily for us, the Marriot was there to save the day. We took the tram over to the hotel, zipped up the elevator to CK’s restaurant and had ourselves a nice little last hoorah before my folks left town. The service was just mediocre, but the food was actually decent(with an okay selection of beers). You’ll see a lot of business men with laptops catching up on work, but it makes the place nice and quiet to relax for a bit before your long trip. If you’re in the airport and want to kill some time before crossing over to the dark side, this is about it unless you wanna get back on the road and hit up that Shell gas station for some Twinkies.
