The Citrus Kitchen recently opened their doors in the newly built 2 Briar Plaza. They specialize in fresh & natural foods. They have a selection of sandwiches, wraps, paninis, gourmet burgers, salads, pasta & a few entrees featuring grilled chicken, salmon, kabobs & fish tacos. The café is nice with tables lining the windows, booth-like seating & a little sitting area with a t.v. for those who just want to have a cuppa joe while watching the news. Big plus: the tables have hooks for your purse! I ordered the«Bean There Bun That» burger. It’s a black bean burger topped with red onions, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese & Mexican crema served on a brioche bun(I had them take off the guac, cheese & crema). Fresh house made chips is the offered side but for an additional cost you can have French fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings or a fruit salad. I went with the fresh fruit. The burger was pretty darn good! Spicy, the patty had a nice consistency to it and was packed with flavor. The bun was super fresh, light & airy. The veggies that topped the burger were very fresh & crispy. The fruit was as they advertised, very fresh! The service was great(order/pick up at the counter) & friendly. They have an area by the drink station that houses the condiments along with pickles, sliced jalapenos, pepperoncini, & olives. Great addition to the area & very convenient to walk to.
