Located in a swath of international restaurants, roadside taco stands, and retail shopping centers fringing on third world in the heart of Southwest Houston, stands this lone iconic American hamburger joint(yeah I know McDonalds is across the street but you know that Whopper vs. Big Mac deal). Arby’s left years ago, Blockbuster too, even the multicultural Fiesta closed its store, yet Burger King survives. This is attributed to the restaurant adapting to the customer’s needs in the ever evolving South Gessner area. Bilingualism, serving burgers for breakfast and staying open till the wee hours of the morning are just a few of the unique touches found at this location. In turn, this dynamism is introducing American style hamburgers, French fries, and fountain drinks to a new generation of patrons. This alone is worthy of praise but when the curtains are drawn you still need to present a play. By this standard, for fast-food fare, the burgers are very good, the fries tasty, and the restaurant is clean. Also, it is a really nice place to stop and grab a bite to eat when taking a break from buying in the Harwin shopping district.
