Passed by here while on my way to another bar one Sunday night & couldn’t help but notice the crowds of people outside watching the football game and the music blasting. I quickly made a detour and wanted 2 join in the fun! Lol There was a small table to the L of the entrance where they served fajita tacos, quesadillas and burgers. I ordered a chicken fajitas taco and it was surprisingly good! The place was packed with Dallas Cowboys fans! Several TVs and seating and good atmosphere for a large group. I ordered a malibu rum punch(sooo good I had about 4 total lol) and jammed to the music while waiting on my girlfriend to arrive. Majority of the seating is outside. It was a bit chilly out so we sat near a tall lantern-like heater. My biggest complaint was the bathrooms. They were YUCK! Not clean, smelly, unflushed toilets. It was just gross! Other than that, this spot was very chill. I’d return but will definitely use the restroom elsewhere before arriving.

On a Saturday night I encountered… Great music – mix of Top 40s, Hip Hop & R&B, and other music you can actually dance to! A diverse crowd! I had a great time and will most definitely go back!

Back in the day this was my favorite place to go on Washington. Now it is a joke and a sad one at best. Stay away not worth it at all. I would recommend Winston’s across the street instead.

My SO and I were cruising around on Easter Sunday trying to find someplace to patio drink and eat crawfish. We called around, and a friend first recommended some other place on Washington. So we drove there, and found that they were not serving crawfish. They did, however, direct us to Brixx next door, where crawfish was definitely to be had. So we grabbed a really comfortable table outside, with cushions and pillows on the benches, and enjoyed the weather and the spicy smell of crawfish boil. I guess, given that it was Easter, there were not that many people there, but still a good number of tables filled. I wasn’t really feeling like drinking anything too strong, and I don’t drink beer, so I tried to order cider. To my dismay, there was only one kind available. Strongbow Cider, in a can. I decided that any cider is better than no cider, so I tried it. I was, however, pretty disappointed. It was not very cider-y at all. Very beer-like, and not nearly tart or sweet enough. OK, now on to the crawfish. I know it’s early in the season, but good God, those crawfish were tiny! We probably threw out ½ to 1 pound of the 4 pounds of crawfish we ordered without even peeling them, because the tails were so tiny that we couldn’t pull any meat out. That was pretty disappointing. In summary, I’m giving it 3 stars. I like the space, I like the concept, and I think it has real potential. I might give it another try and resubmit. :)

I always come to Brixx in the middle of the week when it is empty. If you are looking to hear about Brixx Friday or Saturday night, you’ve got the wrong dude. Skip to the next review. When I go there the place is totally empty and you can sit anywhere you want. I went here Thursday night to watch football, and got to sit outside in front of their big screen. The service is good and friendly, and drink prices are not over the top. Lastly they allow dogs on the patio, so this place is alright in my book.

I’ve been here a few times. The few times my friends and I really enjoyed ourselves. The crowd was different and the music was good. We decided to invite some more friends this past weekend. We went to 3 different bars and each bartender didnt know how to make any mixed drinks or special shots! Two out of three didnt even know how to make the Specials that were advertised. The last bar we went to the bartender asked me to pull up a recipe so I did and she replied«oh I only know how to pour vodka.» Of course I was a little frustrated but it got even worse when she turned around to some other people and said«that bitch better go inside to get a drink.» Awesome customer service huh?!

This place was cool, drinks were a little pricey and the building not being enclosed does make you sweat like a pig while dancing. The booths on the patio are very nice to visit and drink, I think it’s more of a winter place since it so hot at night though.

Brixx was a great place to start the night off because we had a bartender who had a strong pour. The place is a nice mix of indoor and outdoor with lots of outdoor seating and a bean bag toss court. The bar also opens up to the outside. As we were leaving, there was a DJ setting up and there looked like plenty of room to dance. We were there early around 9:30 and there around10 people but as the night wore on more and more came. I didn’t experience any of the negative things the others are saying.

This place was ok for me. Good only to come have some drinks and hang out for a bit. We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty late and this place was relatively empty. We only came here because most of the other bars on this strip wouldn’t let the guys in with graphic shirts. They let us in here with no promblem. The guys were wearing graphic tees with no collar, boots and sneakers. The place is a nice outdoor patio type of environment. The music was pretty good. However, my two complaints are: 1. Service. We were waiting for our other friends to arrive and the girls just kept on walking pass our table and never even came close. They will just look at us and keep on. Once the other people got there they immediately went up to the bar to order drinks. Then made ourselves up onto a table on the deck were one of the girls came to us too see if we needed anything. Lol. Well of course, it was about ten of us and I guess that is the only way they will come to you. Major deduction. 2. Drinks. Horrible mixed drinks. They were to sweet and watered down. The hurricane was just a bit better than the other drinks I had. So overall, I do not know what is all the hype about The Washington strip. I was very dissapointed on the overall experience and mostly because of the very stupid dress code policies!

Not impressed at all. The bartender, Brittany, was very pleasant but the service was very slow. We had to order our drinks multiple times each because they never seemed to make their way to our table. My party of 6 was sitting at a table right next to the bar and still had trouble getting served. We had to go to the inside bar several times to place our orders. Then, to top it off, the very rude and unprofessional bouncer tried to kick us out 3 times(it was 0200) before we were even able to close our tabs. We tried to explain to him that we were waiting on our check and he came back about 1 minute later trying to force us out again. My boyfriend told him AGAIN that we hadn’t received our cards back yet and that there are plenty of other people to try to move out when the bouncer called him a smartass and became aggressive. I’m sorry, but if you’re attempting to be an upscale business, there is NO reason to treat PAYING customers that way. I will most definitely not be back and take my business elsewhere.

Not too crowded, went on a Saturday night a few weeks ago.. Fast bartenders, quick line. but seriously. I think I paid 4.50 a beer in tx. That’s just insane talk. I swear I paid 12 bucks a pitcher usually. In any case. Pretty chill, stayed outside most of the time, they had some spot you can buy food from but didn’t really go to inspect ~ Would I be back, YES. Would I be back for my birthday, NO. Cheers Bitches!

This place was pretty cool. Tucked away a bit on the Washington strip, you kinda have to walk and pop your head in to make sure you are at the right place. My friend had a birthday gathering here on a Sunday during the $ 25 all you can eat crawfish boil and it was a BEAUTIFUL day to sit outside as we did. I am really interested in getting a CD of a local Houston Entertainer to the house DJ or music operator to add to the mix they already have playing which my group really enjoyed. It’s always nice to hear good music, with great weather and great food. I will certainly be back!

Meh. That’s the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this place. Came here the other weekend for my sister’s birthday and it was nothing special, but she had a great time so I guess that’s all that matters? It’s a nice place to hangout and have a few drinks and I imagine I’d enjoy their patio more if the weather had been better. They do have an inside/covered part and when the several random monsoons decided to strike every now and then, the staff reacted quickly by putting up the umbrellas on the patio. We also went during the day for a «Sunday Funday,» so parking really wasn’t that big of an issue since the parking lot behind Brixx was pretty much empty. As for the food, it was just okay as well. I had their fries and the crispy shrimp pizza, a choice made by a friend because he thought it sounded different. Unfortunately, different is always good and in this case it was a bust. It wasn’t terrible, but it really wasn’t that great either and it was extremely salty. As for the crawfish, luckily for me friends ordered a few pounds before I blindly went in and bought some as well. I tried one and didn’t like it, but I’m not a fan of the spicy Cajun type of crawfish, so to other people I’m sure it wasn’t that bad. Other than that, the service was pretty good. The girl taking care of our area was pretty attentive, and what’s up to the lady bathroom attendant, you were nice too. But those are the only main positives I have, oh well.

God, this place is awful. Almost as bad and ghetto as the bar next door — Ei8ht. [shudder] I would probably enjoy coming here if they took out the girls(yes, girls, because they look like they’re barely 17) in their mini sparkly club dresses, the smoke machine, and those weird socially awkward I-play-video-games-all-week-and-come-out-to-Washington-to-look-cool guys who just congregate around the perimeter of the dance floor and just STARE at you. And after throwing back a few Patron shots(strictly Patron — because that’s just as cool as the Affliction shirts they’re wearing) they muster up the liquid courage to hit on the ladies in inappropriate-but-legal ways. Like grabbing my elbow with their slimy sweaty hands. And then it ruins my experience all together because all I want to do after that is shower. Ok, maybe this happens in other bars. But the close proximity of the tables to the dance floor is just too close for comfort when all I want to do is dougie, wobble and drop it low a la Chris Brown style. And the guys here are just really creepy. And particularly sweaty. Never had to stand in line so can’t bitch about that. I think this end of Washington is slowly getting the same downhill curse of the other bars down the street(i.e. Pearl & Drinkery).

I should know I’m going to hate a place when three stretch limos in a row stop in front and 20+ barely legal 20-something roll in in their critter pants(guys) and skirts that show… cough…everything. Now this is something I expect at clubs here in Chicago, but apparently the douchebag plague also extends to Houston. Apparently Washington street is the hub of Houston douchebaggery and I landed square in the middle of it on a Saturday night. The one thing this place does have going for it is it’s space – worthy of two stars. Great outdoor patio where you can actually sit and kickback with friends(while simultaneously sweating your balls off) and there’s an outdoor bar as well. Come 10pm on a Saturday night, however, the horrid pop music gets cranked to unbearable levels and the lines of the just-turned-21 crowd forms. Check, please.

Brixx is one of the most crowded spots along Washington, and after having visited the spot, I am beginning to wonder why. It offers a very small dance floor, but a very large bar area(two medium sized ones actually). The outside feel is nice, but I can imagine it getting very painful outdoors during the summer. There is plenty of seating and the crowds are very mixed… which is a great thing. The drinks are decently priced, though watered down. Brixx is not the spot for a well made drink… but it is a good place to people watch!!!

You know when you keep going to a place over and over again, and you REALLY want to like it, or your friends like it you keep getting dragged to a place over and over again, and you think its going to change. That’s my relationshhip with Brixx. My friends love this place, and I don’t know why? Maybe the simple solution would be go get new friends, until I find them, I find myself getting dragged to Brixx. I have been here at night, where its the typical DB Affliction crowd, and just recently during the day on a Sunday for All you can eat crawfish. We tried last weekend, but they ran out. So, Sunday rolls around, and we decide to check out $ 25 all you can eat crawfish, sit outside on the patio, people watch and grab some cold beer. I like the layout of the place, I like the patio, the waitresses are sweet, and the music is good. The bad side is that everyone here is 20ish, cheeseball, and looks like they are still up from the night before. The crawfish were SUCH an epic fail, they were TINY, and not spicy at all. I felt like I was eating lunchmeat, there was just NO kick. Also, I only went up twice to get crawfish and ended up waiting over 20 minutes. By the time I got up there, I wasn’t even hungry anymore. My search continues for good crawfish, but my relationship with Brixx has finally ended.

This place is okay, but I don’t think you should waste your time in line. It reminds me of an old school ice house in a blue collar part of town(a la Telephone Rd) but with way more snooty attitude. Only reason why I’d frequent this place is because the other places have a super long line, or they’re dead. I’m not sure about this whole Washington Ave area, but I’m not a fan. I’d prefer it if it were a club, or just bar. If I wanted to go to a bar, I’d hit up Taps, or if I wanted more of a club, I would go to ei8ht

I have been here twice and both times on a Sunday afternoon so my review is totally based on that. I really like this place if I am looking for a good patio, want to watch a game and want to eat crawfish. The patio is a decent size with tons of table and a couple big flat screens. The service is a little slow because the place gets so busy on Sundays for all you can eat crawfish. But they are still friendly. That really is my only complaint– the patio gets SO crowded it is really hard to move around and you have to wait for awhile on your order… The pizza’s are good and the crawfish are even better! Perfect spot to be on a Sunday afternoon in the spring or summer!
