Came here during Sunday lunch and was seated quickly. They brought out water before we even asked for it which is always a plus. I don’t care what I order for drinks but I always want water too! Anyways we ordered the be né combo the fried rice combo and spring rolls. I didn’t realized how much food it was until it all came out. Man everything looked so delicious. I loved the baguette mayo and pâté! The bo né isn’t as great as I expected but everything else was. I like that they gave us sauce on the side for the fried rice. It was delicious. Spring rolls was served hoisin sauce… I would rather have a little peanut butter in it. We ate most of our food so I would say we enjoyed our food a lot. The price for the platter is a bit on the pricy side when it comes to Vietnamese food. I would recommend the fried rice combo over the bo né! But I did take off a star for the cleanliness. Table was quite sticky. I did not like that.

Steak and eggs Vietnamese style? I’ll try it! It’s served on the same cast iron cow plate that every asian restaurant uses.(Don’t touch the hot plate). Comes with two sunny side up eggs, beef, and a side salad. Salad dressing was like a soy sauce vinaigrette and tasted great. The hot bread with pâté/butter is really good. The butter is actually Vietnamese mayo, and made from egg yolks/oil. Spread it on the hot bread! Bread isn’t dense like some French baguettes, it’s more airy. You can easily eat a couple loaves of it, so save some room for the meal. Overall food is good, but prices are high for being in chinatown. If you don’t have cash don’t worry, they take credit cards.

Their take on steak and eggs was very good. I prefer my steak more seasoned but the portion size, salad and Vietnamese coffee were all satisfying. I really enjoyed the pâté/butter(I really like pâté/confit/food gras) but some palates might not like it as much. The biggest surprise for me was the amazingly good bread!

Their Bo Né was ok, didnt taste like the real Bo Né I used to have in Vietnam. The service was ok. However, it was kinda pricey. They served a few pieces of beef cubes with 2 over easy eggs and costed up to 13 bucks. I always ask for extra meats and have to pay as the Bo Né combo price.

Literally 9 piece of tiny beef cubes + 2 sunny side eggs for $ 13. Not worth it guys, make it at home. Bye Felicia!

This place is called bo né and known for their bo né. I decided to try something other than their bo né and it wasn’t the best choice. I’m a sucker for banh xeo and I had to have one. The oil and the color of it looked like it glows in the dark. It looked neon. Every bite I took, gushed with oil. The pork and shrimp filling were flavorless. So, the only thing that made up for the flavorless pork and shrimp was the nuoc mam. As for the bo né, I wanted more! It was delish! The flavor of the steak was well marinated. The pâté and butter was an amazimg combo. Service was quick and friendly. Definitely coming back when I’m in town. Fyi: if your planning to get appetizers, avoid the BBQ steam buns. The buns were super dry and hard.

I LOVETHISPLACE. You have to order the steak and eggs! The salad is small, and has lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and white onions. You’re also given some pâté to spread on your baguette. It’s a must when you’re in Houston!

Definitely recommend bo né special. Bo luc lac is good as well. Just don’t enjoy the size of their beef. This is comfort food for me tbh. I can eat bo né very morning.

I used to come here regularly for past couple years. Service is typical Asian, almost non existent, that’s usual but Food was decently Good until recently. This past year, quality has gone down as prices has gone up up up. I found a better place for Bo Né on Bellaire and Cook(um.Thiem hung bakery) for $ 10 instead this place, service is better and Bo né there has a meatball as well. I get choice of rare, medium and well done steak. Yum. So long Bo Né Houston as I’ve not so much missed ya.

I love coming here for some authentic not too expensive steak and eggs. Service is quick and friendly. The bo né comes with a salad, with an amazing zesty flavor. The bo né itself is tender, the eggs aren’t overcooked and it comes with a whole basket of french baguette and some butter and pâté. Yummm!

Houston, we have a problem! People are in dire need of budget-friendly dining options for good olé steak and eggs! Come to Bo Né for the BESTSTEAK&EGGS(Vietnamese style) any time of the day whenever the craving arises! Yes, prices may have steadily increased over the years, but it’s still very much affordable!(I will gladly eat it up in Chinatown because everything still falls well under budget in comparison to other fancy smancy parts of town). The steak and eggs come out on a special cow-shaped cast iron plate, sizzling hot and the aroma just entices you to eat more and stay longer! It’s served with a side salad, toasted crunchy and warm baguettes, pâté & butter. I swear the finger licking goodness of the pâté and butter is probably enhanced by some sort of hidden crack ingredient(I always ask for extra). Just you wait and see how you feel after your taste buds enjoy and savor each bite into the flavor-bursting steak and eggs! You’ll be planning your next trip back even before you finish your meal… for real, for real!!! Oh dear Bo Né and your crack-a-licious steak and eggs… how do I love thee… let me count the ways…

Came to see what the hype was about. Ordered the bo né Houston: $ 11 for the steak and eggs(2 sunny side up), bread, salad, pâté and butter. Like other reviews the dish was skimpy on the beef. It’s oddly cut but seasoned well. My favorite part was the paté and butter. I could eat that for days! Swipe the pâté and butter on a piece of bread, cut a piece of the egg, then add the meat on top together for the prefect bite. Watch out, the egg is hot! The salad was whatever but good to have something acidic on the side. My friend ordered a café su da. I don’t like how it came in a to go cup already. I prefer to see it drip in the french press and you adjust how sweet or strong you want it. I can’t decide if it’s worth the drive or money for size of the dish but it was overall good. I was overcharged by a dollar but nothing to be worried about. Definitely try it if you haven’t done so already.

BEST. STEAK N EGGS. No, this isn’t your average sloppy mess you order at IHOP or Denny’s. This is legitimate steak cubes, fairly marinated, served alongside two real sunny-side-up fried eggs, brought out on a sizzling plate so that it stays hot throughout your meal. The order comes with some freshly toasted French bread and a side of butter and meat paste that you spread on the bread. All this food PLUS a salad for a very reasonable price. An order of the steak n eggs here always has my stomach feeling very fulfilled by the end of the meal. The only complaint I have is how dirty the tables and floor is every time I’ve visited. They have plenty of workers and a very small space, yet they can’t seem to find time to properly and thoroughly wipe down the few tables they have, or sweep the floor. IMPORTANTSUGGESTION: Go with someone who can speak Vietnamese, or you’ll be guaranteed miscommunication, and possibly lack of service.

This place is a specialty Vietnamese restaurant that serves sizzling, marinated beef chunks with sunny side up eggs. It’s named«Bo Né,» which loosely translates to dodge beef, because it sizzles and the grease on the sizzling plate might get on you so you may have to dodge a bit. Humorous name, huh?! I’m rounding this place up to 4 stars even though I feel like this place only deserves 3.5. Here’s why… The place is really marked up and expensive, especially for the cut of meat used for their famous dish. I can understand if they were using filet mignon or ribeye, but c’mon $ 11.00 for a small amount of marinated meat with two eggs? Sure it comes with a salad and French bread and a small serving of French butter and pâté, but those extra items are by no means hard to obtain or difficult to make. Also, I would highly recommend not ordering the Bo Né Special for $ 16. It’s really nothing special(pun intended). It’s just extra meat in addition to the small beef chunks. But to be specific; one sliced hot dog, one sliced chinese sausage(lap suong), and an ultra soggy meatball which wasn’t even that good. Despite the high markup, I still think this place is fairly decent. They take an easy, well-loved concept and do quite well at it. I think it’s marked up because they know customers will keep coming back time and time again because they’re the only Bo Né game in town(at least that I’m aware of). Service was pretty decent. Not too busy. The food is perfect for breakfast or brunch and it does fill you up and can be quite satisfying, especially after a night out with friends. Their only shortcomings is that it’s not the best value and the cut of meat they use. Despite this, I know I’ll be back for this simply delicious dish in the future.

It isn’t the same as it used to be. When I first came here, I thought I discovered gold. It was my first time to try Bo Né. But after my recent visit, it doesn’t seem to have that same kick anymore. It seems like average beef with eggs on a sizzling plate. The pâté and mayo remains on top though. They also increased the price! It’s $ 16 when I went. I was shocked. The quality of the beef definitely degraded. I am not satisfied with what they have now. I can get better beef or some real lookin filet mignon elsewhere. This isn’t the same rock n roll beef/shakened beef they used to have. This is what you will receive if you order Bo Né: — Salad — Pâté, Mayo — French bread — Beef(average)
