Pizza was average. Nothing special or noteworthy about it.

Have actually eaten here twice now since my previous review and both pizzas were the BOMB-DIGGITY. Meatza(Sicilian) & Heathers Firehouse(Neopolitan) did not disappoint with ample sauce, tons of toppings and the cheese was noticeably fresh and delicious. I normally don’t eat the crust on my pizza because I need every bit to be doused in sauce, but I actually reached back to the box for the lone crusts and nom nom nom’d away. The pizza is more pricey than your regular pizza joint but they don’t skimp on any of the ingredients. If you don’t got the $$ just go with people so you can split it(I don’t personally know what sharing pizza is like but try it and let me know how it goes.) They also have lunch specials during the week which would be lighter on your wallet and belly. Shoutout to the friendly folks that work there,(Austin?) was incredibly helpful on the phone when I placed my order. Great service and great food, WIN-WIN.

This is the best pizza I’ve had in Houston. I love the deep dish with plenty of quality ingredients to choose from. Great service and a comfort atmosphere, I highly recommend Barry’s pizza.

Best deep-dish /thick-crust pizza in Houston. Not really Chicago style, it’s more of a crispy, spongy crust, in a rectangle shape. Crust, then cheese, then sauce. I usually get the plain cheese with extra sauce. The house salad is also good, and has some stuff in it — like cucumbers, cheese, croutons — as opposed to just a bowl of plain lettuce like so many other places serve. Service is friendly, and the staff seems to like working here. The room is nice and comfortable, with tall ceilings and plenty of space. I’ve been coming to Barry’s since the late 90’s and it’s the automatic go-to place when my friends and I are celebrating our birthdays. I get the large pizza so there will be leftovers — it’s still good later that night or the next day for lunch, straight out of the fridge. Highly recommended.

Got the spicy ravioli and it was pretty perfect! Not greasy or heavy at all and the jalapeño was a nice touch. Then got the Margarita pizza, which was very light. Very good crust and toppings were very generous! Excellent service! The waitstaff and management were exceptional. Got here around 6ish on a Saturday with no wait. However people who came in after us did have a wait. They have a great patio but it’s cold out, so no one really wanted to eat out there. Lots of tvs broadcasting the NFL playoff divisional game. Good food, good beer selection, good service, good tvs. What more could you ask for?

I would have gave them a perfect score but I hate letting them know there is no way to improve. The pizza ABSOLUTELY delicious, the crust is some of the best I ever had. I like the taste of a good sauce on my pizza. I’m not sure if there was any, next time I will request extra sauce. Service was like days past where they actually cared about customer service. Not just my waitress but all the wait staff cared about my visit. The manager even came by and refilled my drink. On the negative side and it is a very small negative, they didn’t have the fireplace lit. I thought that was odd and was told that they normally have it lit on cold weekends. My visit was during the college NCAA National Championship with a few more people than your normal Monday crowd. Definitely will return and will bring my family and friends. ** Received $ 5 off on dinner through the Unilocal app **

Went in last monday for a work party, it has me wanting to go back in today ! The pizza was great and the beer was super delicious too. I’m hoping they still have that bourbon beer I got last time. Get the firehouse pizza, its so good! Sandy and Sara took such good care of us too, they were so helpful.

I went here for the first time last Sunday. Barry’s has great atmosphere, wonderful service, and delicious pizza and beer! Our waitress killed it. I don’t remember her name, but she knew so much about all their beers on tap. She asked us questions to figure out which beers we might like best. She did her job very well over all.

Still… after much exploring other pizza places. Fancy, mom and pop, chain etc. I still claim Barry’s as my favorite pizza in Houston. This pizza is topped with real toppings. It covers the pie. Not a piece of pepperoni here and a mushroom there. Barry’s puts toppings on their pizza. You may flinch at $ 25 for a large pizza. Don’t. Use your $ 5 Unilocal discount. My favorite part of the pizza really is the cheese. They have it made specifically for their locations and your pizza. It melts beautifully, has a lovely sweet saltiness and is terrific on the house salad. Sure they have gluten free crust, calzones, my favorite Italian sub the MAMAMIA: Capicola, Genoa salami, prosciutto, provolone & mozzarella with roasted red peppers & Italian dressing. 8.79 and soups and some decent pastas. They discontinued the wife’s favorite pasta dish so we don’t get them anymore. Kids menu and lunch and game time specials. Get the house Italian dressing on your salad. Fantastic creamy Italian dressing. Fantastic. I always get the Barry’s special, thin crust and ask them to bake it just an extra couple minutes. Makes the crust perfect. Lots of TVs around the restaurant on sports or news. Lots of table sizes for a date or a party. Sit at the bar and get a beer — the selection is limited but always a few local beers that I like. Basic wine selection. HUGE cups for cokes and tea. Service is always fast and friendly and very capable. i take visiting friends from out of town here. Good food, Great pizza. Terrific service. Home owned.

Made my second visit to Barry’s for one of their special pint nights. I’m not sure if they do this on a weekly basis but I know it happens on Wednesday’s. A different brewery is selected and if you order any of the beers that are part of pint night you’re allowed to keep the glass! I love free stuff so clearly this is my kind of event. The pint night I attended was hosted by Karbach and they were offering their new seasonal ale and a tripel that is aged in wine barrels and tequila caskets. Both beers were good, the tripel was interesting as it had a hint of tequila and packed a punch with a 10% alcohol content. Barry’s reminds me of Star Pizza minus the hipster atmosphere if it makes any sense. It’s a large restaurant and they have a nice patio. Parking is easy as they have a large parking lot. As we were downing Karbach, my friends and I went with a small cheese Sicilian(deep dish) pizza. Deep dish is what Barry’s is know for and it didn’t disappoint. If you’re thinking a small would be small you would be mistaken my friend. Six large slices which is definitely enough for two people to share. They were pretty busy but the service was friendly. If only they were a closer commute during rush hour from work I’d make these pint nights happen more often.

I called Barry’s today because I’d had their pizza in the past. Even though my office is just a little outside of their delivery zone they delivered to us. I ordered 4 hand tossed pizzas which were great. But the Sicilian pizza was one of the best I’ve had in years. A lot of other Sicilian pizzas have dry crust. Not Barry’s their crust was crisp where it needed to be but soft in the center. Heavy on the sauce and meat. It was just like«Mama» makes. Reminds me of Sicilian pizza I used to get on the east coast in Pittsburgh as a kid. The Caesar salad was great too. I will definitely order Barry’s again for the office and also catch them at Houston Hobby airport.

We came by to meet my sister for a quick meal before a movie. I’ve seen Barry’s sitting there on Richmond my entire life, and couldn’t remember ever dining in, so we thought to give it a shot. The interior definitely reminds me of the heyday of pizza joints, and to their credit, they’ve been around since the heyday of pizza joints.(1983) Vinyl table cloths, random decorations hanging on the wall, family’s sitting around a table smiling at a huge pizza steaming on a pizza stand, etc. Only thing missing was the old Dine in Pizza Hut buffet/salad bar. Service was fast and really friendly. My wife and I sat at the bar before dining waiting for my sister to show up, and we had the good service form the bartenders. The main waiter once we were sat at our table was non stop smiles and really excited about our drink and food choices. They had a ton of employees on the clock hanging around waiting for customers to come in and it didn’t seem terribly busy for a Friday night, but they’ve got the man power ready whenever it does get busy. Food was middle of the road pizza for my tastes. We shared a large pizza and had salads to start. The pizza wasn’t bad, it just didn’t blow me away. Hand tossed crust came out thick, almost deep dish like bread, and the sauce was a little too heavy for me. Did I eat everything in front of me? Yup, so definitely not terrible. If you’re in the area and looking for a pizza joint, this should cover your needs. I wouldn’t drive half way across town for it, but will probably find myself back in if the craving for Pizza hits me while in the area.

Came in for a happy hour meal during the week. Not busy at all on a weekday around dinner time so service was quick/attentive. The happy hour specials are average: $ 1 off beer/wine, half price appetizers. We also had a pizza which was okay. Nothing special, but also not bad. The drink glasses are a bit cloudy/dirty and warm, which isn’t great combined with draft beers. Worth going to if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get pizza from here.

I came back to give Barry’s a second try. This time had to Meatza Sicilian style and I have to say it was a pretty good pizza but pretty heavy on the dough. The best part about this trip was our server Jessica, she was very friendly and super attentive to our needs.

The last time I tried to go here there was an hour wait on a Saturday night. This time we went earlier and had no problem getting a table. First I’m going to tell you, I love pizza. It has to be really terrible to get a bad review from me. But on the flip side, it has to be really amazing to get five stars. Barry’s was close. I really liked it. We split a large regular crust pizza, half Barry’s special(supreme) and half buffalo chicken. The supreme was good but the buffalo chicken was better than expected. However, this is really only a pizza for true buffalo wing lovers. There’s no sauce, just ranch or blue cheese, wing sauce and chicken. But it’s done very well. They also have a lot of options for kids and a very good selection of local beer on tap.

I decided to give this place a try yesterday and I am so happy that I did! In my head I was picturing it like a Mr Gattis but I could not have been more wrong. The ambience is hill country with an antique cabin feeling throughout. I was impressed with the craft beer selection that they had on draft. Apparently they feature certain breweries every so often and then switch them out for another one. Yesterday they had No Label. The only thing I was slightly disappointed by was the pizza. I built my own pizza and sadly I thought it could have been better. However, I order their antipasto salad and it was exceptional! My boyfriend and I thought it was one of the better salads we had ever had. I really like this place. I will definitely be back and try one of their specialty pizzas.

I used to be a frequent guest at Barry’s pizza when I used to live much closer to it and I remember always having a good time and some great food when I was here. It’s been years since I came but now they have Wednesday pint night where they would spotlight some local craft brewery at the restaurant. While I was here, the local craft brewery in the spotlight was 11 Below. You get a beer glass with 11 Below logo on it, and you get to taste the delicious beer made by 11 Below. Oh yeah, let’s not forget about the pizza as well. The place is better known for its pizzas anyway. Over the years, I’ve tried many of their pizzas here and to make an otherwise long review short, they’re all pretty legit. No, it’s not New York style like a lot of you people like. But the hand tossed pizzas they offer here are delicious. The service has never disappointed either. Obviously I can’t really speak about the service I received way in the past. But the last time I was here, the manager came to our table and chatted with us. Our waitress was pretty attentive with her service. Was it the best service I ever received? Nope. Was it on par with my expectation? Yep. So that’s that. If you’ve never been, give this place a try. Especially if you’re already on this side of town anyway. Going two stepping at Wild West? Stop by Barry’s. Going salsa dancing at Tropicana? Stop by Barry’s. You get the point.
