I’ve been writing reviews on experiences ranging from food to car services for years. I’ve worked in retail and in a customer service based atmosphere for over 15 years. But as a customer, my customer experience here was by far, THEWORSTCUSTOMEREXPERIENCEEVER! I’m writing this review, days after the experience. I had to ensure that my emotions have settled. I’m no undercover boss but if I were, two people would be in very hot water. Those two people would be sales associate Anthony Gomez and store manager Victor at the 10650 Northwest Fwy.(290 Store). This all started around the Christmas holidays. My girlfriend took advantage of a buy one phone; get a free phone /phone line for the BOGO offer. It was her gift to me. All that was required by me is to cancel my current month to month phone line with my existing provider, in which I did. We went to the AT&T store on 290 and were assisted by Anthony Gomez. Anthony wasn’t very knowledgeable to begin with. I got the impression that he was only concerned with moving us along and making commission. When we explained to him the BOGO deal for the additional phone needing to be switched over from my existing provider to be ported over to the 2nd line, he instead added another line without her knowledge or consent. We did not realize this until she checked her AT&T bill online. We thought it would be a SEEMLESS transaction and that most associates understood how to follow simple transactions like how to port over a line for special offers. But that was not the case. So now she has 3 lines and cannot cancel the 3rd line without paying the $ 600+ penalty. We get stuck with an irreversible mistake and told that we have to either continue to carry the line and pay $ 15 dollars extra a month plus taxes and fees, break contract and pay the penalty, or have the line ported over to another carrier, then have it ported back to AT&T if I want to keep my existing line. This is too much! It’s a waste of our time and energy all because of a mistake made by a sales associate who wasn’t paying attention! When we went to the store to explain this to Anthony and the store manager Victor, Anthony denied adding the line. The store manager — Victor didn’t make it any better. In fact, he wasn’t any help at all. He just kept saying«I wasn’t here at the time to know what happened». He didn’t show any sense of urgency or empathy and they didn’t own up to their mistake at all. Instead of making an attempt of correcting the issue, we get our time wasted, money wasted and no resolutions whatsoever. Basically we were told the things we could do going forward which would be at our own expense. Overall, I feel awful about the decision I made about switching from my old provider to AT&T. I don’t think I’ve ever done business with an establishment quite like this one who operates a business so poorly. Experiences like this make them look BAD. I would highly suggest going to another location or better yet, going to another provider that conducts business with simple, friendly and knowledgeable practices. I’m never coming to this store again. Other actions taken: Reported them to the Better Business Bureau, Filed a case with the AT&T Corporate office,

Worst experience ever. I added a new phone line for my boyfriend for Christmas, they gave me a temp number and when we wanted to port in his existing phone number they added an additional line without telling me. Now I’m in contract with the temporary line and can’t break it without paying the $ 600 penalty. So now I’m stuck with 3 lines. The employee who did it denied everything. Didn’t own up to their mistake at all. Victor is the manager and Anthony was the sales associate. Don’t do business with these people! They are a joke! I’m never coming here again.

I just love the way they greet customers. Soon after greetings, I felt like a visitor from outer space whenever I stepped into this store. I explained to a salesperson about my requirement. I shared my frustration with him about T-Mobile’s lack of consistent data & cell signals in few parts of Houston. I didn’t want to be stranded without any service while driving to San Antonio. I told him I have an unlocked iPhone. He gave me some options and prices. I told him I had to come back, because I spent too much time searching for this store with that stupid GPS from my phone, on top of construction on Hwy 290. I went back next day. I thought it would be a courtesy to talk to the same salesperson. But he was busy helping another customer. I waited and waited. Remember, I was a space alien to them. Store clerks walked by me like I didn’t exist. Come on, I’ve got to go back to work. So, I picked up a prepaid flyer and asked a guy, «can I just pay this at any store?» His eyes lit up and helped me with the transaction. That didn’t take long, because he seems very knowledgeable about this product. However, I think he forgot to tell me about the data signal that was less than contract customers. I know I shouldn’t complain about AT&T Wireless signal that saved my day in San Antonio, where T-Mobile was invisible during most of my trip.

My stepfather has a Samsung Rugby issued to him from work, and he wanted a holster for it. My mom and I come here looking for one since it’s an AT&T phone. Upon entering, I notice they’re moderately busy, but not slammed. A woman YELLS very rudely across the store to my mother«MA’AM! MA’AM! MA’AMYOUHAVETOSIGNIN!» … to which my mother says«I’m just looking» and the woman again yells«YOUHAVETOSIGNIN». At this point the assistant manager comes over to my mom, asks if she needs anything, helps her get the correct holster for the phone, checks her out, and comes over to open the door for us. He knew his employee was rude and out of line. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is one reason why I have Sprint.
