I don’t find a lot of reasons to venture in to Radioshack these days. Any electronic or accessory I need, I’ll usually find cheaper online or at Target/Walmart. The time I did venture in, was on Christmas Eve 2012, because I had received a Kindle Fire, and I happened to see a Radioshack ad for Kindle Fire cases on sale for $ 14.99. As I had already perused and various other cheap websites, I knew that $ 15 for a cute case was a good deal and I wouldn’t have to wait for it to come in the mail. I stopped in and there was a lot of staff and few customers. Many staff members desperately tried to help me and sell me things, I just told them I wanted to check out the Kindle cases. They left me for a while to find the one I wanted. Once I found the one I wanted, there was no bar code on it, but I had found the same case in a different color that DID have a barcode so they could just use that to scan. Apparently that wasn’t an acceptable solution, so I had to wait for a manager to come out and show the cashier how to search their website for the exact SKU number and then type that in to the register and price it that way. After we’ve already stood there and waited as they do all this, the manager says«Is this all you need? Do you already have the Kindle? Have you done all your Christmas shopping?» I reply, «Yes, to all. Just the case.» He continues on, «We’ve got a lot of… toys! and video games! and… stuff…» I confirm once again that I am fine and I’ll just have the case. Finally I get out of there with just my Kindle case, which I am really happy with for the price. The price was right and product advertised was available, but the hard sell on more expensive products was not appreciated. I probably won’t return to this store anytime soon unless I happen to see an inexpensive product I need in their mail circular.
