Antonio’s has been a family tradition since 1982. To this day, when my son comes to town, the first request is pizza at Antonios. For me its the linguine and clams(the best I ever had) or the sausage & pepper sandwich. For my wife, the veal. For all the changes in Houston, the great food and pleasant atmosphere remains the same. And yes pizza really can fly. Many happy moments with young children catching flying pizza dough

Best pizzaria in town. I took the family there today for the first time. The salad, appetizer, and pizza were all first class! If you are tired of all the new hipster west coast pizza places that serve strange pizza… give this place a shot for REAL authentic pizza. The service was first class as well. Highly recommend. I don’t care for the location so much… Its like driving in a third world country there so be careful. No-one believes in stop lights or blinkers!

Oh for the chicken Marsala. Every time I am in town, I’m there. Really great! The sauce is sweet and lighter than those heavy ones elsewhere.

So we were told, in advance, that Antonio’s is owned by an Italian from New Jersey, and if you tell the staff the right magic words(light on the cheese, extra crispy crust) they will produce a New York style pizza. Guess what? It’s true! In fact, the whole place does an amazing imitation of a family owned Italian restaurant from New Jersey. The booths, the walls, the art, the menu. It’s all pretty spot on. We didn’t try the meals other than the pizza, but I’d bet they’re pretty good too(perhaps with similar tweaking). By the way, Antonio’s diverges pleasantly from the usual plate-of-iceberg-lettuce conception of a salad for places like this. There were interesting leaves, tomatoes, radishes. Really good!

This place has all the makings of what I have been looking for, a standard pizza joint that isn’t overly formal and full of itself and can make a pizza an east coaster can eat. Truth be told, what I have been missing the most as far as pizza is concerned is a really good slice shop but alas, I still have not found one. In any case, on a day when I want to share a pretty good pizza pie with family and not feel so bad that I need to book a flight back to the east coast asap, this will do. All the trimmings of a family run type of place are evident, the lack of attention to updating décor, the complimentary bread basket, and lastly Andes chocolates that take me back to growing up in Queens circa 1988. The service was great though it wasn’t a busy time so I can’t comment much on what happens during busy evening hours. I also can’t make any comments about prices. I will be back and will update if I try anything other than the pizza. Oh and thanks for those reviewers who suggested asking for the pizza to be made crispy and less cheesy, that was a spot on recommendation.

Maybe its just me but reading the reviews I sensed a lot of nostalgia in the patrons reviews. There is a noticeable affinity to the tried and true /simplicity of their offerings reflected in them. I could hear Anthony Bourdain voice as he tours Italy’s Parts Unknown ranting about Antonio’s vintage taste and feel. Rustica? Italiano. With that said I wasn’t too impressed but I can sense the appeal to its Patrons. Simple flavors, richness from cheese and butter, paired with Italian mom’s cooking. Pizza 3 of 5. Fresh ingredients on a plain crust. Expect nothing more and nothing less. Overall its not for me, but if what you read resonates with you or if you’re feeling Rustica Italiano, give it a shot. 3 stars is by no way of saying it was a bad experience, just a little boring for my tastes.

Excellent service. The food was delicious. We had chicken francese and shrimp with pasta. Pizza to go for our grandchildren. Everything was perfect. Home away from home. #newyorkers.

I’ve been coming here since I was a wee one, so my review is full of nostalgia, but Antonio’s is awesome. If you’re looking for classic pizza and pasta, this is your place. I remember coming here as a kid and getting to catch dough while we left… I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss that. We always get a large, plain cheese pizza and spaghetti and meat balls. I just can’t seem to order anything different, but I did order a grown-up appetizer on our last visit and tried the stuffed mushrooms. They were some of the best I’ve EVER had… and I love stuffed mushrooms. Love their rolls with butter too. Antonio’s is just the best for a classic Italian meal. There’s never a wait anymore, so you can roll in anytime. Bring the whole fam.

Excellent food and service! I came here to it with my family, and the waiter was very personable and prompt. Food was fresh, bread is freshly baked. Everything was great, we will definitely be coming here again!

The pizza was great! Fresh and worth the wait. The staff was friendly. It is pricey. However remember you get what you pay for!

Been coming here for decades. Been all over the world, and lived in NYC. Antonios is the best pizza I’ve ever had. Pro tip: Pepperoni pizza with fresh garlic.

I come here just for the Pizza and I have to say Antonio’s has the BEST pizza I have ever had. The service is excellent and the prices are good. I would highly recommend the pepperoni and sausage pizza.

The very best pizza and pasta! Great family run, authentic New York style pizza! After coming here for 30 plus years, it’s absolutely as good, if not better than, ever!

One of my favorite italian places to come when I want good non-pretentious food. I didn’t say great, but most items on the menu are good. Sure the atmosphere is from the 1980s and the majority of the patrons are old enough to be your grandparents, but try to look past that and relax, take your time and enjoy the food. Try the lasagna, pizza, canneloni, veal or shrimp francese. I love ordering the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The calzones, which are good for a lunchtime entrée, are no longer on the menu, but they have 4 different ones you can choose from: sausage, ham, meatball, etc. and you can add any toppings like you would for a pizza. Their prices are a little high on some of the dishes, but you usually get what you pay for here.

Alright… Soooo make sure you get PAID before you go here! Damn they charge a grip for a pizza! Being from a family that owns a couple pizza shops, I consider myself a pro at the pizza game! Pizza tastes great, pretty fresh toppings. But it’s not anything outstanding and unique! Not at least for those prices! Really that’s the only reason why it’s getting a 3 star review. Usually when you goto a sit down restaurant they bring out complimentary bread, they DONTHERE. Perhaps if they did it would justify the pizza price! They charge you by the topping, very expensive. Place is clean and tidy. A little outdated. Service is good. Price is too high. I won’t be going back for that reason.

I have been coming here since I moved to Houston in 1998. Although there have been renovations over the years, one thing remains the same… authentic italien food. The staff seemingly never changes and the service and food is always great! If you are in the mood for great italien food this is the place to go! I love the pizza, veal parm, house salads, antipasto app, calamari… all of it is great. Make sure you save room for dessert, the white chocolate truffle ice cream is the best!

This was our first time here. Very friendly staff! The atmosphere is really nice and clean. The food was fantastic! We ordered the calamari(must have), traditional sausage and pepperoni large pizza., and two drinks. Price: $ 38.

Customers beware… The pizza is subpar and the staff and services are terrible. And for parties 5 or more… they charge automatic 15%…This includes infants who don’t require service. For one small and one large pizza we were charged 52 $ plus 8 $ tip for the so called waitress to bring us the pizza. We confronted mgmt and the manager didn’t have the gall to even talk to us. Never coming back. Pizza is not even as good as dominos. Service is terrible. Oh yah… they claim it’s because they were busy. I guess when the restaurant is ¼ full… that constitutes being busy.

We met a couple friends for dinner before an event a few weeks ago. I picked this place because a few of the reviews mentioned that the pizza was really great and our event was at Stereo Live so I figured being a hop skip and a jump away would be a great plan! Grrr… there were only a couple of other parties there. The host/waiter/server did not seat us right away, did not bring us utensils or napkins, and ignored us after we ordered. The rolls were not warm and the butter came in very hard and cold small rectangular packets — so not classy) We mentioned that we were in a bit of a hurry but he still lingered with our ticket. The food was ehhh. .. We ordered a meat pizza and the spaghetti with meatballs to share. The pizza was pretty tasty, the toppings anyway, the crust was nothing special. To our chagrin, the pasta was not homemade :(we just figured a nice little I-talian place like Antonio’s would be grinding out their own pasta. The noodles were overcooked and the sauce was too loose and bland. I think we only got one big meatball(can’t remember) but it was not enough and not great so it didn’t really matter. All this wouldn’t have been so bad had the prices reflected the level of service and taste of food that we received. Muy expensivo! We will not return.

I am writing this based only on the pizza there. I was SHOCKED at how expensive the pizza was. Really? $ 28 for a 14″ Antonio’s Special. I get that it’s hand tossed and all that but $ 28??? If you want to design your own it starts at a base of $ 14-$ 18 and then they add $ 1.50-$ 2.50 per extra ingredient. Few options too… the basic stuff. The hamburger was tasteless and the mushrooms were hard to find. There was a lot of grease but that didn’t bother me too much. It wasn’t like it ran down my arm or anything. I was concerned the crust would get soggy from the grease but it didn’t before we were finished. The crust was good, I’ll give them that. The toppings were plentiful but except for the onion and jalapeño none were very flavorful. Really. It was as though they had removed all the taste from the food before they topped the pizza with it. And it was fun watching them toss the dough behind the counter. The kids might enjoy watching that happen. It was the middle of the afternoon. There were only two other tables occupied. Our waiter was not real busy and took care of us very professionally. The wine list was a disappointment. Mostly house wines with no label listed on the menu. It wasn’t too expensive but still… I know most Italian places serve house wines and that’s cool I’m not a wine snob but I’d like to know what I’m drinking. I have driven past this place a million times over the years — usually on my way to Barry’s Pizza off Richmond. I claim Barry’s is the best pizza in town. I kept saying I was going to stop in but never did. Finally today we did. Next time we’ll keep driving to Barry’s.
