I literally only downloaded the Unilocal app just to write this review. Yes, it’s THAT bad. My friend and I went to swim in the pool and left after we saw a young couple having sex against the wall in the middle of the crowded pool. How the lifeguards didn’t see them becoming VERY intimate was absolutely beyond my understanding. AVOIDTHEPOOLATALLCOSTS.

Old, run down park off the highway, but it’s right next to where I work. It can be pretty when the weather is nice in the Spring and summer. Really bright, beautiful greenery. There’s equipment to work out on, and there’s an outdoor basketball court.

Unlike others who rave i find this place okay. I might need to explore it a bit more but the swimming pool and dive boards are neat.

I went disc golfing over the weekend and it was much better than I expected. It had rained a few days before, so I don’t know why I didn’t expect puddles and mud. My bad! It does get pretty«marsh-like» after it rains, so I’d say give it a few days to dry out. Unless you own rain boots. I need rain boots. Overall very nice and clean. Being that it is right off the beltway AND on Hammerly, I expected much worse. My only complaint is that the placement of the baskets is very confusing. Even with a little printed map I had a hard time finding the next basket and it made it worse that the other players weren’t concerned with going in order :/. It is located less than 10 minutes from me, so of course I will return and recommend that you do. If you are a girl, please don’t go alone. I ran across some«creeper» in the parking lot. Luckily, I had my sister come with me and my pepper spray in my pocket ready for any necessary use. Otherwise, felt pretty safe. Just be careful and watchful of your surroundings.

So what does David do for exercise these days? With it being damn hot outside it’s just too much to try to run, with all my bills a new set of golf clubs is out of the question, so what is my new compromise? Disc golf! You can get a whole set for about $ 25 at Academy. What do you mean by a whole set? Yes so those fun frisbees, actually come in different sizes and weights, drivers, mid ranges, and putters. Don’t get me wrong this game can get expensive too, but just starting out it can be pretty damn cheap to play. So this park has a full disk golf course, football fields, basketball courts, and so much more. One of my favs in town.

It’s a good park to run and it’s nowhere near as crowded as Memorial Park. It’s clean, relatively safe and has plenty of open-spaces. And if you get hungry, there are plenty of places to eat just a few blocks away.

So far, this is the nicest of the big parks I’ve been to, at least as a disc golfer. MacGregor may have some features that Agnes Moffitt lacks, but if nothing else, it is in a much, much nicer neighborhood. Also, it is the only one of the three disc golf courses with a full 18 baskets which features _NO_water hazards — which makes it the only truly safe choice for beginners. The course features beginner and amateur tees, and even from the A tees, the course is not absolutely brutal. There are also NO picnic tables mixed amongst the baskets like you find at MacGregor and Tim Bass with BIG signs saying«disc golf only, no picnics beyond this point». This makes life much more relaxed. Also, the ratio of open drives to working around trees is much more balanced(Tom Bass is almost all open, and long distance, MacGregor is all tree work) and holes which favor left and right handed players are also more balanced. I do hope at some point they work out some pro distance tees for this course. Even the A level tees really don’t bring a lot of big distance to the picture.

Disc Golf, Frisbee Golf, Frolf, Golf for Pot Heads; whatever you want to call it, we all need a good, and free, place to play. The course at Agnes Moffitt Park is the typical par 3 disc golf course you find most anywhere. The dirt tee’s could use a makeover and someone likes to steal the numbers off the baskets. There are 18 holes to play and no intentional water traps. The park seems to be built on a marsh though so if you go any time soon after a good rain(1 – 3) days, you’re bound to get your shoes a little muddy. The layout of the course can be extremely confusing if your new to the park so I recommend printing off a map before you venture out your first time.(Love me ) Score cards are available at the first hole in a nice wooden box but it’s BYOP if you plan taking any notes. The park itself has a big public pool out front as well as a playground and a basket ball court if you feel like chill’n out, relaxin’ maxin’ all cool… What? The disc golf course is «off limits» to those not playing golf so you don’t have to worry about dinging someone with your disc. Just remember to throw away your trash and beer cans. The park is pretty clean and they have trash cans available everywhere, so give a hoot, don’t pollute! Send a message if you want to meet up and play!
