African Braiding House

Well I got to the shop at 10:00! the lady did not start on my hair until 10:30am. Needless to say that my braids came out amazing, it was my first time going to the shop I was a little nervous, after reading all the comments about the ladies being rude/​disrespectful I did not receive and attitude nor disrespect from anybody, I was surprised! The ladies don’t engage in a lot of conversation while doing hair. the one thing that I didn’t like was switching on my hair meaning (I had three different ladies on my hair at different times thought the day). It took the ladies 8hrs to complete box braids (10:30−5:30)! The do overlap appointments I noticed. After all the ladies did an amazing job on my «Box Braids» I love them and I will be going back! they took the time to clean all braids and asked if I was pleased! Ill be going back in three months to get touch up!

I’ve had my hair braided here several times but I dont think I’ll be coming back. These people are very RUDE. The first time I got my hair braided I wasnt sure how they wanted the state of my hair before starting so I let my hair air dry (I am natural and I have very thick hair) so when I arrive she’s upset because she has to blow dry my hair as she was doing so shes blow drying my hair so rough and huffing and puffing!
My most recent experience was not any better. When I arrived i asked if the hair that I purchased was correct and I was told yes instead of saying no and letting me go purchase the correct brand now two weeks later I have strands of hair sticking out the braids horribly (The best way I can describe it) I asked a question about the size of the braids and instead of receiving an answer she told me to sit down. Coughing without covering their mouth, Pulling my hair while braiding, Asking for the money multiple times when I paid already. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY NOT IF YOU’RE SATISFIED.

Do great work but not the most friendly africans by far. But if you want it done right, this is a great place to come too.

Well 8 hours later and I’m finally done. 3 stars given b/​c I like my braids, but damn all the start and stop braiding of my hair; waiting for the next braider to finish up with someone else’s braids b4 she makes it to my head is terrible customer service, just terrible! 8 hours of my time and money naw!!! I’m keeping these braids well into 2013. The Braiders are from Senegal, Africa beautiful ppl don’t get me wrong, but the language they speak (Wolof) sounds like Ebonics to me. I’m sorry, but when you speak your language and your ppl look at me; I’m going to ask what did you say, which is pretty much how I communicated to them during my visit. They didn’t talk to me or any of their patrons. This business totally lacks customer service and respect for their patrons. Like I said if I didn’t like my braids they would receive 1 star.
