Uhm, service sucks, food is nothing special (about what you’d get at chiles). Nothing positive except that they have ok beer — Avoid.

This place had horrible service and terrible food from what I tried. First and foremost I arrived at 10:53pm. I wanted to order a steak which cuts of at 11:00pm. Maybe if the bartender wasn’t so busy talking to her friend I would’ve been able to order a steak. By the time she got to me they weren’t taking steak orders anymore. I can understand that if the place was packed but there was maybe 8 – 10 ppl inside and 2 of her friends at the bar. Then I ordered the slim 55 grilled chicken. I received it, was cold when I bit into it and very bland. Sent it back to heat up, ended up being slightly hotter yet still bland. I took 2 bites and didn’t want anymore. I don’t recommend this place from the taste I got of food and service. Probably should find the bartender another job with her friends since she likes to talk so much to them.

I came here with my roomie to grab dinner after work. We decided to split the chicken quesadilla’s and some chips and queso for dinner. The waitress was really unfriendly the whole time. Also, the queso came out luke warm like they just put it in the micro wave. The quesadilla’s were good but not $ 10 good. Unless your coming here for steak night or happy hour I wouldn’t bother.

We went to Black Walnut after a night shift and had a few drinks to wind down. We wanted a bigger drink selection so we walked on over here. I really never knew it was there because we always used to go to Bakers Street next door, which is closed down. It was about 11 in the morning so we were the only ones here. We grabbed a seat at the bar and had plenty to choose from. They have great beers on tap, and plenty of liquor to choose from. I went with the St. Arnolds winter stout. It was amazing and perfectly chilled. Being the only ones there, we got excellent customer service. The bartender brought over menus in case we wanted to eat. The menu looks great, but we were on a strict liquid diet after a long shift at work. They had excellent music playing for us 90s kids. About the time we left, the crowd picked up. I will definitely be back and check out their menu and late night crowd.

To begin, the patio is very dog friendly; my fur babies are treated like celebrities.
The food, drinks, and service are top notch. This place has become a weekly stop for me & my boyfriend.

Great service and food. Good prices. One of the few open Christmas eve. Idk about the crowd. That strip of bars always has guys fighting on the patio. It’s obnoxious to be around.

The whole place is gross. I had a roach crawl on my food. There is baby roaches all in the girls bathroom. The staff is extremely unfriendly. Why of all the places in rice village and in the Kirby area would anyone done here. The management is extremely disrespectful to staff. Being a patron hearing the way they speak to staff. Very appalling. I will never come back. The drinks are not only very weak there are very overpriced for what you get. The bartenders roll their eyes if you ask them to remake it. So many better establishments in the city to waste your time or money here. If I could give it no stars I would. Baby roaches mean infestation. Count me out of this spot.

Food: the steak was pretty damn good. I came here on a Tuesday for steak night. I like the mashed taters too. My best friend ate his ball of butter in the mashed potatoes though, so be careful. He almost threw up… his bad.
Ambience: Cool vibes, not very diverse. Obviously its rice village lol but the seats are comfortable.

Place is cool but my waitresses sux. I have to get my own drank. #0tip. She keeps on passing me by! Pero like nothing.

Good place. steak night tuesdays we missed. but I enjoyed it… about 7 tvs. fun staff.will try a Tuesday to see if it’s different from a slow wednesday. not everyday can be busy but I’m optimistic

OK, so I’ve been here quite a few times bar hopping in the area. This particular Saturday night, 10/​3, I came to celebrate my birthday. Yay Happy Birthday To Me lol!!! I made reservations 2 weeks ahead of time for the outdoor patio area. I like the patio set up. The GM (general manager) Sean could not get me seating outside for my scheduled party the day of. He called me ahead of time to let me know of the situation and set my party area by the TV’s by the back wall. There are large TV screens throughout the bar. Needless to say, I ended up needing the entire area! Once I realized my party size grew throughout the night, the patio was not going to be enough. My family and friends had THE BEST time celebrating my birthday here.
The GM was friendly and attentive to my party. What GM does that, Sean does! He is awesome. The waitress was nice and cool but was slow in the beginning and I had to find her for orders. She soon got the hang of it lol and was attentive. I had the entire area packed out. Thank you Sean for moving my section to there. The FOOD was good and the DRINKS. We were allowed to split our checks although I had such a large group. We had no issues with payment. Dress Code: casual but I like to be dressy majority to bars.
The place has an open dance floor and live DJ. They move the tables around 1030, 11p from restaurant style to dance party style. All my family and friends were on the dance floor. The DJ was good this night. Being the birthday girl I had to take over the dance floor one good time. Everybody was screaming my name. It was an amazing time here. Sean the GM, even joined in on the fun photo bumming me Lol. This place gets raving reviews from me from my birthday night alone. I have to give several thumbs up to the GM Sean for making it a memorable night for myself and my party guests. 55 bar is great for groups, especially just a girls night out or guys. I’ve also been here with just 2 other friends and had a good time. Nothing however compares to my birthday night. Thanks Sean and 55 Bar for being great hosts this night.

Subpar service with a ditsy bartender that does not know the beer selection or how to change out a keg. Food is typical bar affair with an oddly pricey tag.
Good amount of TVs on the wall. Hollowed out bar stools with cheap gator upholstery that swallows you immoderately.

STEAK NIGHT TUESDAY! This is the place to be! Great crowd, Food And drinks. The atmosphere is relaxing now that summer is over. The steaks here are a MUST HAVE! The ribeyes are cooked to perfection and the sides are to die for! :)

Cool place to go hang out with friends and have a few drinks. There is a dj on the weekends who play some pretty good music but for some reason or another the place don’t stay as crowded as some other spots in the area. But, this could be a good thing. Steak night on Tuesdays is the bomb! The steaks are are huge and infused with lots of flavor. No need for A1 sauce.

Loved this place! Came for lunch on a Sunday and it was empty, the waiters were super friendly and attentive.
I ordered the fried mac and cheese balls and the vegetarian flat bread. The Mac and cheese balls had a hint of spice and were very filling. The flatbread had hummus!!! It was so amazing! Will definitely come back.

I just love this place. On today, I tried their «Burger Club» burger with a fried egg/​well done. It come with fries as well. Very delicious! The beef was seasoned very well and the patty was juicy. The texas toast wasn’t too hard, and was toasted perfectly. I will definitely order that again.
We also had their «Sunday Funday» bottomless mimosas! Cant beat that deal! We opted to eat inside, even though they have a nice patio out front. The way this HEAT is set up in Texas… that was a no go during the early afternoon for me. The waiter was friendly and attentive. All around a great brunch experience!

–Their moscow mule DOES NOT come in COPPER CUP. Sac relig! And as much as I enjoy spicy food, I do not enjoy the jalapenos in my drank!
Food:
–Giant pretzel: soft throughout, kinda salty, but they give generous amounts of dipping cheese which is a huge plus
–Fish tacos: the grilled tacos lack flavor. Even with the additional salsa and sauce didn’t get much character to the meal
Décor: Cute and clean bar atmosphere. Several big screens that play sports and news channels.
Service: Do they have the AC on at all? We’re all sweating! It was so uncomfortable that I couldn’t enjoy my meal! The server we had was really helpful though, she saw that I wasn’t enjoying my cocktail and offered to exchange my drink. That was awesome service.
Cost: Apps and drinks were average prices $ 8-​$ 11
Overall: I don’t know if I could honestly say that I would go back, or risk taking my friends or family there. The service was good, the atmosphere was good, but the cocktails were unimpressive, and the food wasn’t tasty, and most of all the AC was on low so I was sweating the whole time. Yikes!

This place is nestled between two other restaurant/​bar/​bistro type places. I think somewhere between the bar food and the TVs, groups, and heat, I wasn’t as comfortable as I could’ve been. Thanks, but I’ll likely not run back to this place. It’s really cool place if you frequently visit the area and go with friends. The décor is nice :)

This place is so cute and nice atmosphere. This place is perfect for steak night! steaksare good and sides are good as well. I also enjoyed there fried pickles and amazing fried Mac n cheese.
The frozen mojito was disgusting it tasted nothing like a mojito so after that i have it one more try with a frozen margarita but it was a disappointment as well more like frozen ice and salt. The waiter was really sweet but had to remind her a couple of times about water and validation for parking…
But I would return with a group any Tuesday night for steak night also the steaks came out really quick after orders were placed

Got a last minute invite to join an old friend for his pre-​birthday get-​together with some of his pals from his job. I hadn’t seen him in year and said what they heck.
This is a quaint bar in Rice Village. Not a lot of my favorite beer on tap, but an OK selection, I suppose. I ordered the Chicken Flatbread ($ 11) and it was good! Not 11 bucks good, but good.
Try and catch the Happy Hour for better app prices to go along with your brew: (MON — FRI 3PM — 8PM) SAT/​SUN 11AM-​8PM.
