Ok, I’ve eaten here twice now and it’s all over the place, so I give it three stars. So far my wife and I had the smoked chicken club(fantastic); the mac and cheese(fantastic) the sweet potato fries(fantastic), the chicken jambalaya(ok) and the ribs, which were smoked so much they were either just burned or at least cooked to a dry, blackened mess. My wife hated the ribs, made her nauseous. On the other hand I at least thought they were«interesting», particularly if you really had a hankering for«smoke». But this was like eating a campfire…

After sampling the place twice, I brought a motorcycle tour group here for lunch. We had about 30 folks. My lunch was very good. They were ready for us and handled the crowd very well. I received no complaints from the group. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.

What a disaster. We went during the Wild Goose Festival, based on it’s location. Service? Sucked. They weren’t even that busy, and our section had quite a few empty tables. The food? Well, it took 45 freaking minutes for it to come out, and when our server set it down she said, «I’m sorry your food took so long, they wanted to make sure they got your steak right.» Uh, I ordered my steak at Medium, it came out Well DONE. What a lame excuse for how long it took. My wife got the smoke chicken which was rubbery. The server didn’t care at all, and we paid full price for a meal that neither of us enjoyed. The server didn’t offer to pass along our feedback, no manager came over, NOONECARED. I will never go back there, and I’ll tell all my friends who go to Wild Goose next year to avoid this place like the plague. You should always go where you feel your business is appreciated, and they give you what they promise, or they work to fix it. This place SUCKS.

A utterly horrible experience. Possibly the worst restaurant experience I had in the last few years. No one greeted us at the door, waited 10 minutes until someone from our party had to track down the server to get menus, waters took 20 minutes to arrive to the table, food took over an hour, there was forgotten entrees and incorrect orders. Two entrees ever came. Smoked chicken was dry, probably reheated. Appetizer portions were small. Everything else was mediocre. Manager was rude to a person from our party who spoke to them. If there is a wait at the other restaurants, wait it out. We wish we did…

I wish there were negative stars because this place sucks. Oh, where do I even begin?! A festival comes to town and they don’t have the waitstaff to accommodate large groups of people. On top of that, they have two brand new waitresses working on a Saturday night. The female manager was rude to our server and us. We sat down and people after us got menus before our group of 12. I finally got up and said something. We ordered drinks, a few sodas and the rest water. That took 30 minutes to get because our server was the only one serving the inside space. Once all our food came out, there were two screw ups. Also my salad didn’t come with dressing or pico. But the worst was two in our party never got their food and I asked the manager about it. She said sorry but can’t you see how busy we are? I said it should have come out with the rest of our party’s food. My friends ended up leaving because it never came out and the manager wanted to make the server pay for it! Why when the food never came out?! There’s more to our experience but it’s too much to type here. Suffice it to say, don’t go to this place. They need better management. You’re better off at Iron Horse Tavern. Great food, great ambiance and awesome servers. Even the mini mart or camp food would be better than this place.

Terrible. Don’t go! After visiting some of the other local restaurants, we decided to give this a try. We love a good experience wether it’s a local dive or a classy night out, but we will not return here. My «ninja porter» came looking and tasting like a PBR for starters. My husband didn’t get the beer he ordered either. Food eventually came and without some of the ingredients listed when it arrived. By the time I got the dressing for my catfish taco salad my husband was done with his meal … And no beer for most of his meal. Waitress was really confused about beers they had, and did almost all the«no-no’s» of waitressing. Let’s just say we won’t be spending our money or time here again.

While camping in the area, we decided to walk to the nearby restaurants and taverns. A bar hop of sorts. Still Mountain was the second stop on the hop. It seemed clean and fairly new but we were told that they’ve been open for a few years but close during the winter due to the lack of business. One side note was that they were out of hand soap in the bathroom. When I brought it to someone’s attention, I was told«the truck hasn’t come yet». Yikes! Go to the Dollar Store or something, it doesn’t have to be soap from the pump. Luckily, she let me use some soap from behind the bar. I don’t know what the others who went after me used. All of the patrons were outside in the patio area because there was band playing out there. We knew that we were going to be outdoors for awhile, so we opted to be difficult and stay inside. We sat at the bar area but there wasn’t a bar tender, it was the same waitress tending us and all of the rest of the patio area. She was friendly and very attentive though. They had several craft beers on tap, as a lot of bottled beer options. I decided to go with a glass of wine though. She let me sample it before I bought it. The pour portion was tiny and she knew it when she handed it to me, she explained that they taught her to measure the pour three fingers from the bottom. Whoever taught her needs to rethink that because it’s more like a three ounce tasting and not a glass of wine. This is no fault to the waitress though and I didn’t say anything about it to her, she was excellent. No way was I ordering a second glass though. I’ll move onto the next tavern for that. The menu consisted of bar food, burgers and BBQ. I ordered the nachos and requested pulled pork BBQ instead of chili… I told you that I was difficult. They came with jalapeños, chips and cheese along with the BBQ, despite the lacking in the toppings, they were great. After the two dollar up charge to substitute the chili, they were around ten dollars, I thought that was a bit steep but this place knows how to do BBQ.

This is a fantastic place to stop for a bite to eat. I went for lunch. You seat yourself. Menu is simple, but yet a great selection. I saw some awesome chicken wings fly by to other tables, but I did not try any. I was greeted by a young woman who was very courteous. I ordered the smoked chicken sandwich and it did not disappoint. It was loaded with very tender smoked chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and pesto. It also came with a side and I had the fries. They were just the way I like them, slightly crisp on the outside yet soft and hot on the inside. If your passing through hot springs I do recommend!

Get. The. Ribs. Yes, the service was slow on Wild Goose Festival weekend but they did the best they could with a small waitstaff and a hundred people dropping in. Second visit: wish I’d ordered the ribs. Not-so-great salad. Service still slow although restaurant wasn’t very busy.

My family and I had lunch there over the weekend. They were not really busy. Food took an hour and twenty minutes to make it to the table. I ordered the«Grilled Cheese» and«Chili Cheese Fries». My kids ordered cheese burgers. My «Grilled Cheese», was ice cold and dried out. Honestly, it would have sucked even if it was warm. The fries were advertised on the menu as «fries with chili, cheese, jalapenos«. What I got was a cold mess of fries and canned chili with hard cheese that was microwaved over the top at some point that day. I called the waitress over, showed her my untouched plate and said«These are terrible». She replied sheepishly«Oh, I’ll be sure to let the cooks know». It still ended up on my bill. My kids cheese burgers were also room temp and cooked unevenly. One half was well done and the other half was raw. Try getting a 9 year old girl to eat a raw burger… not happening. I watched as the next table had to send their food back twice before settling on the wrong dish that was brought out the third time. Desperate as I hadn’t eaten anything, they had advertised«Strawberry Shortcake» as the daily dessert special. I thought«well, how could they f**k that up», so I ordered it. I was presented with two cut up strawberries and a shortcake from the grocery store. You know they kind that look like a hockey puck and taste like a sponge that your grandma always tried to get you to eat and like? Well, I still don’t like them, and no one else does either. I paid via Visa. The waitress came back with two voided transactions and two legitimate transactions leaving me to wonder if I had just paid $ 160 for our lunch instead of the $ 40. I gave it two stars because I didn’t spend the rest of the afternoon dry heaving, but that’s about as good as they deserve.

Awesome food, great service, and nice atmosphere. The scratch made corned beef hash is excellent, a la chef Cliff! Come hungry!
