It’s a terriable experience! There are almost twenty ladybugs in the room! The front dest changed a new room for us, but the ladybugs in the new room even more than the first one! We asked the staff whether we can cancle our order, they said yes, but they will not give our money back!

I have stayed here twice… once in 2002 and then again in 2009. This is a historic old hotel. It is not shiny and brand new. It has character and charm. While I do like shiny and modern, i also enjoy historic with lots of charm and that is what you get here. The lobby is gorgeous and the old elevator and staircase has such charm. My room, both times was clean and spacious enough for three people the first time and two people the second time. It is conveniently located to everything downtown. We walked everywhere and didn’t even use our car. Magic Springs water and amusement park is a short drive away from the hotel as well. There is a restaurant on the premises, but we never ate there. The hotel next door(I cannot remember the name of that place) had a lovely bar we frequented on our second trip. If I went to HS again, I most likely would stay here again.

This is not you sparkly clean brand new hotel. This hotel has the old world charm of an old hotel. Some say because of its age it’s haunted too. It does not have all the amenities you find in newer hotels, in room coffee maker, but it makes up for it in charm. Our room had an individual window mount AC that had the room very cold when we arrived, this was nice since it was 80 degrees at 9pm. Front desk help was very friendly and let us know that any extras we needed, towels, pillows, ice, hair dryer, etc were at the desk. Get more pillows, only had two tiny ones on a king bed. My only complaint so far.

The Park Hotel is just OK. Friendly service; for the most part. And although, I do have a few complaints, I did enjoy my stay here. The hotel is old, and creepy, and the rooms are clean(this is all a plus). It was inexpensive. So, I guess I just got what I paid for. I stayed here in December and I can not say that the small heater they provided really did much. I wore my coat to bed and thought I might lose my toes. The house keeper did not come in to clean after the first night and I had to call down for extra towels. The internet is only accessible from the lobby and it was not working during my entire stay. The restaurant down stairs in the lobby is lacking in service. Even thought there where only 4 occupied tables and what looked like 2 waiters, I stood for 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my existence. My drink, the bread, appetizer and meal all came at the same time, but on the up side you get a 20% discount on the bill for being a guest=) The food wasn’t bad if you can deal with the shitty service. This hotel is in a nice area, so if you are trying to find a decant place on a tight budget, I say book a room. It is right across the street from Hot Springs National Park and right up the street from everything else.

Nice old hotel. Nothing special but no real complaints. Loved the location, but the parking was horrible. When we did find a decent space i continued to worry about my car the entire time.

It’s a step above camping I suppose. If you just need a roof over your head and hot water to shower, then this is your place, as I’m giving 2 stars for the location and working plumbing. We stayed during the summer but were able to keep cool enough by requesting one of their fans I spotted behind the counter(even after complaining about the A/C they did not offer this so make sure to ask for one!) and by opening the top shutter part of the door that leads to the hall. Doing so I could have an easy conversation with my husband from the hallway to the shower so do expect to hear everything. The ceiling on the 4th floor was leaking into the hall, the only time we saw housekeeping was the day we left though we had been provided an envelope to tip them. Hair dryers are available behind the desk but only blow cold air, and there’s a definite lack of wall outlets available. Overall: survivable, but not impressive.

This place is great. Front desk girls were very nice. The restarant was yummy. Yes the rooms don’t have a lot of furniture but it was clean and a great price. I will stay again.

2 stars only for the historic building. Thankfully the temp was cool enough at night we could open the windows to be somewhat comfortable. Old mattress, 19″ TV(not flat screen) mounted to wall. NO counter space in bathroom and very few outlets throughout entire room. I read the revies and wanted to like it, but would not stay there again. I know it wouldn’t be the Ritz but I’ve been in Motels that had better furnishings. I would have to agree with Laura O.

We stayed here for several nights in December. Since the elevator was out and they knew we had small kids they upgraded us to the«honeymoon suite» on the second floor — it’s the one with the balcony over the entrance. It was probably 800 sq. feet which was great with two toddlers underfoot. Look — this is an old hotel — if you want modern amenities in your room then it’s not for you. We actually enjoyed the older feel of the rooms and fixtures — it’s a constant reminder of another grander time. It was very, very clean and the staff was attentive. Our room had a peaceful view of the wooded portion of the park right across the street. The price and location were great.

This is a very old hotel so don’t expect the ritz here. AC is centralized so temp may vary per room. Average room But good for the $. there was a gangster shoot out here in the 20s on the 4 and 6 floor and12 gangsters died so supposedly haunted. Decent Italian restaurant in the lobby. Good for a short stay.

Park hotel at hot springs. Great old hotel lobby area with oodles of charm that really takes you back in time. Front Desk attendant(Debbie) is extremely helpful and nice, offering helpful advice and discounts. Elevator is a little scary as it is loud and crotchety and even stops a couple inches short of it’s intended landing before it corrects itself. Room(608) is like spending the night at great grandmas house. Very old fashioned and stark and needing some updates but relatively large and comfortable enough all the same. Walls are thin and it gets noisy when new people arrive but earplugs are a must with me anyway because my husband snores like a freight train. AC works good and Parking is close, easy and safe because they monitor at front desk. Other things close: Rode the free mountain express bus to the top of the mountain in the park to the lookout tower and back(runs every 30 minutes and stops all over town). Self toured the historical 4 level forsynth bathhouse at no charge to see how it was done in it’s heyday in the early 1900’s. Angels Italian restaurant(in the hotel) is closed on Sunday when we were there so we walked about ½ mile to another one(?) and it had really good wood grilled pizza on extra crispy thin crust. Soaked in public hot spring spas for an hour at old Quapaw bathhouse for $ 11 after our hotel discount and felt great! From the hotel front door, crossed the road to the bricked promenade through the national park to get to bath houses entrances after a nice walk. Central dr is touristy but a few good boutiques are scattered throughout. Looked around the famous Arlington hotel(with a Starbucks inside) including the pool on the 7th floor which is really unusual, but it is also in need of revamping. Breakfast of blueberry stuffed french toast at colonial pancake house was also very good and a nice walk up central dr the other direction. Nice one day overnight trip is all you need to do it all but that is enough, and this hotel is big part of the overall experience in hot springs.

I selected this hotel for its charm and historical background. Beyond that there is not much else it has to offer. I read on TripAdvisor that the AC did not work. They were right! Thank goodness summer. Coming here in October was good timing because it was cool enough to open the windows all day and night. When we first walked into our room, our noses were assaulted immediately by a pungent, musty odor. We called front desk to ask how to operate the AC(keep in mind their AC system is old), he suggested that we open the windows. No ceiling fans either… We booked for 2 double twin beds. They upgraded us to 2 double full beds at no charge. I think its because their occupancy was low. The room was spacious and clean. I suggest asking for a room not facing towards Arlington Hotel. Otherwise you will be awoken early in the morning by the trash man, annoying! Be very attentive to your bill. They charged me some made up «Energy» fee on my hotel bill. I was upset because it was not mentioned to me on the phone or at the front desk upon checking in. The hotel staff were nice and friendly. I won’t complain about that. Bottom line is, if you are looking for a cheap, clean, and good location — hotel; this place is not too shabby.

Pros: Great location from the strip and the food at Angel’s was good. Cons: Limited parking, «electricity» fee, small room, old bed, poor maid service, no AC/HEAT(vents only), no amenities, ice from front desk only. Overall: I wasn’t really impressed by this hotel. I wasn’t there to critique the design but they could have done better. Ok if you just need a place to crash for the night. Not sure I’d go back again.

Jean C speaks much truth in her review. Much of the Park Hotels historic charm has been diluted by poor vision and lack of design style. My husband and I thought it was just the kind of hotel we wanted to stay in(small, oozing history, understated, set in a quiet central place) but it did not live up to our expectations. The hallway ceilings were poorly dropped and perhaps the door frames shortened to add A/C. A/C is important but there are more attractive ways for it to be done. The room we had was scantily furnished and none of what was in the room was special. One had to see past the mauve curtains and the two poorly selected framed posters to see the original charm. The only reason I’m giving the Park Hotel three stars and not two is because I’d like to hold out hope that something will come of it down the road and that a building with such historic grandness won’t be totally marginalized or, even worse, perhaps town down over the years.

Underneath the horrible«renovation» job by someone without an ounce of taste, The Park is a stunning building – solid, stately and invincible. Renamed Angel’s in the Park(note the incorrect use of an apostrophe,) this hotel has been obscenely desecrated by gold plaster angels stuck randomly on the lovely old walls, gold paint sprayed over ornate tilework, and an unfathomable and ridiculous sword sticking over the entrance of the dining roon. Try as they might, however, the new owners were not able to destroy the intrinsic beauty of this old hotel.
