Ok, since my last review of cajun boilers in June 2015 — and frankly our first visit back since then, the service was excellent this time. Very prompt and courteous and attentive! We received everything in order as you should get it, drinks, salad/slaw, appetizer, meal… All food was great this time too, we had crawfish dip(yum) as an appetizer and then I had shrimp dinner and my husband had catfish, both were excellent as they used to be and what we expect. We will be back based on this visit, and are happy to see them back to normal. Was not as busy as we would have expected, but it was father’s day, so maybe that contributed.

First off we made a call in order and then they didn’t take it. Now that I’m here they still made me pay for it. And wait another 30 min after I waited 30 min!

Sticky floors. Worst side salad I’ve ever had(big unmanageable hunks of iceberg with tons of croutons, one tomato and a swimming pool of Italian dressing). Average fried shrimp. Baked potato was so overdone to the point of almost becoming dust.

Our first visit to Cajun Boilers on Thursday night! This place is awesome! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I am a gumbo snob and their gumbo is wonderful. We had the alligator bites and the Cajun Ribeye… this place ROCKS! We will definitely be back SOON!

Went here Sunday around 6PM. Got right in. Few customers inside. Service was good and food was great. I had fried shrimp and oysters, wife had chicken salad, son had Deliconbre platter. Everything was great. Cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. My only question is why wasn’t it packed with people? Will we go back? Yes. I think we took a break because there was a long wait. We will be back.

The food was very good. We had 7 in the party and everyone was pleased. I had catfish and was very pleased. Fried corn slightly over cooked, but otherwise it was delicious! Service was spotty. Not greeted at door, then took long time to push two tables together. Very few people there when we arrived. Finally, a waitress saw we were just standing waiting and no one appeared to be helping. She jumped in and did s great job! They could use more help like her! Food was certainly worth the wait!!!

Tried this out for the first time last month and my boyfriend and I enjoyed our meals thoroughly. Very friendly staff and very clean restaurant. My boyfriend is true blue Cajun(I’m not, nor am I very experienced with Cajun cuisine) and even he said that the food was spot on. Try the crawfish dip and alligator bites for appetizers! And definitely their peanut butter pie! We will definitely be returning to this wonderful place in the near future!

I have lived in Hot Springs my entire life, and I had never eaten here. I know now that it was for my own good. We are seated immediately upon arrival, and drink and appetizer orders taken. We place food orders after receiving drinks and appetizers. 30 – 45 minutes later, our server brings our food to the table, and proceeds to drop the entire tray(minus one order of crawfish) onto the floor. I’m not upset about this. Myself and the other gentleman in our party help clean the mess up. The server apologized and apologized. That’s not the part that made this a bad trip. Another 30 minutes pass and we receive our dinner. The steak was overcooked and over seasoned. My loaded baked potato had sour cream, and that was all. We eat our dinner and wait for the check. Then we wait. Then we finally ask for our check, and I am told the computer is down, but might be back up in 10 minutes, so we wait. The computers are not revived. I only carry a debit card, and no cash. I offer to leave my card, or a copy of my Driver’s License. I work less than 2 miles from this restaurant, and live less than 4 miles away. The server is left to be the messenger between«the man downstairs»(as she refers to him) and our party of 4. He will not accept my offer to return the following day to pay, but instead offers the solution of «run down to the shell an use their ATM and get cash». That’s what I did. I paid my bill less the $ 2.50 charge at the ATM and left the server a tip. I will NEVER return to this«business».

Cajun Boilers has the best seafood in Hot Springs. I’d definitely suggest ordering the Cajun Platter or the Ragin’ Cajun Platter when crawfish is in season. Also, their grilled new potatoes are delicious. They have a great outdoor patio for dining, especially in the summer months.

I didn’t take any pictures but wish I had. I ordered the frog legs from the menu and also ordered some catfish from the side — order menu. The catfish was the best tasting fish I’ve ever had. OMG it was sooo good! The froglegs were a big serving and they were tender and tasty. Great hush puppy’s also, in fact everything about our visit was wonderful. Especially appreciated the great service.

The only thing good about this experience was the boudin and our waitress. The hostess sat people based on appearance and party size rather then who arrived first. Fried gator appetizer was over priced for the saucer size plate with 12 piece of popcorn size gator or chicken I’m still not quite sure it was gator. The crawfish étouffée that I paid $ 17 for had 5 or 6 crawfish. The pound and half of crawfish my husband had could only be considered crawfish by sight because they tasted like … Well nothing. Definitely way over priced for the amount and quality of food.

Super friendly service and good food. A good choice on my cross country road trip, always hoping for simple local fare. It hit the mark.

This place has gone downhill. The food is way over cooked and place is dirty. My 9yo son wouldn’t even eat the childrens fried fish because it was burnt and it looked more like fish sticks than catfish. I had boiled shrimp that was so overdone they were impossible to peel. Salad is basically lettuce with one cherry tomatoe. The restrooms are poor quality. I felt more like I was at a gas station. Soap dispenser was hanging open and empty, door to stall didn’t close flush so there’s a crack i could see other patrons walking in the door.

First off this place has excellent customer service. The staff was super friendly and the place was clean. As far as Cajun goes the food was just right. The mixed veggies they have for salad was so so but the dressings were all made in house. I had the pepper Parmesan, my wife had the Blue cheese. For the appetizer we had the sampler with gator, calamari, and crawfish, all fried. We all liked everything but the kids don’t like the texture of squid. I think they will out grow that. For the main meal I had Catfish Atchatalya, and let me tell ya, that was the best cat fish I have ever eaten, granted it was smothered in crawfish etouffe. When you get things from the grill they can come to you in four different ways. I had mine blackened. That meal was perfect. Then we had desert. The peanut butter pie was my fave. There were some many choices here and the prices were not too high. Give this place a shot.

I remember going to this place about ten years ago and absolutely loving it. This last visit however, will make it hard for me to visit again. My wife and I went this last time and proceeded to order frog leg appetizers, a catfish dinner and she ordered shrimp. The fro legs were undercooked to the point that the meat wouldn’t separate it was very gooey. There isn’t much to say about the catfish or shrimp except that it was THE most tasteless of either, that we have ever eaten. It didn’t taste bad, but it didn’t taste good either, just oddly tasteless. The service was great as far as the staff goes, but the prices are certainly too high even if the food had been good.

Worst place ever. When we arrived the hostess ignored us got a few minutes. We were there for a surprise party and had reservations we asked if we could be seated and she said«go sit down» and pointed to the chairs at the front. We asked why and she said the whole party had to be there first. She would not budge. Anyways so as you can guess she ruined the surprise. The waitress was nice but the food was terrible. I will never go here again.

Simply everything on their menu was amazing. The grilled potatoes that were recommended were one of a kind! The staff was equally great. The atmosphere is very unique and there is something on the menu for everyone!

I’ve only been once and likely never pass this way again. This place was friendly and had great food and service. Wife and I both had Catfish Atchafalaya with the Boudin app. Grilled new potatoes on the side, and I had the coleslaw. We forced ourselves to have the peanut butter pie. Glad I discounted some of the less favorable reviews and dropped in. Honestly couldn’t have asked for better.

The boudin was their saving grace and the only reason I am giving them two stars. The appetizers are decent: fried alligator, fried crawfish, crawfish dip, and the boudin. But then came our entrees. All the shrimp were cold and gave off that«fresh» from the freezer taste. The baked potatoes had been nuked to death and were incredibly dry regardless of the insane amount of butter and sour cream that had been stuffed into them. If you are looking for fresh, good Cajun seafood, please save yourself and go elsewhere.

This is normally a fav of ours on our way home from lakes to LR. Our first visit this year on 6⁄28 was terrible. It took over 10 min just to get a drink order only to follow with food taking forever and our salads coming out after our food and our appetites with our food? coleslaw is normally good but it was just dry cabbage today. House dressing was off from normal and had too much pepper. My husband had shrimp, I had oysters. His was much better. Food was probably 3.5 stars and our waitress a 2. Hope is gets better as we were disappointed from prior visits. Almost 2hrs we were there…

While on a little vacation in Hot Springs, AR my family and I stumbled upon this restaurant. We started with the gumbo and the boudin appetizers. Both were spot on. The workers were all you could hope for in a dining experience. Then I had the crawfish po’ boy. It was excellent. I recommend you stop by and try this place out

Alligator tail appetizers were good. A few pieces were a little chewy but most were yummy. My 6 year old even liked them! Got crawfish étouffée, red beans and rice, shrimp and catfish. All were tasty! Also enjoyed a view of the lake while eating.

This is a great place right on the lake if you are in the mood for authentic seafood, at least as authentic as you can get this far from the ocean. Very rustic and local and laid back. The oysters on the half shell were great, and all of the food at the table was very good. The craw dads were a big hit. The service was exceptional, thanks to our server Jessica. Good place to go in Hot Springs if you are wanting to stay away from the chain restaurants.

One of the first places we at in hot springs and it’s okay. I will give them credit on the hush puppies which are great. The shrimp was a little over cooked which made them difficult to eat but the seasoning was fantastic. If you like hot then the hot Seasoning was truly made for you! I would go back this place is pretty good and you have to get a tee shirt!

Sunday Lunch– I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could. I just can’t pull the trigger on 4 stars. Store– Clean. Employees– Good. Efficient. Polite. Food– Good! Really good. … but not for the price. I had a skewer of shrimp and a potato, $ 23. Kinda high. Location– good. Right across from Lake Hamilton. I’d go back, I reckon.

Surprised how hard it is to find good Cajun food outside of LA. This is a great place, though a little pricy. The waitresses are a little pushy on what they feel you should order.

This place was an amazing find! We were looking for good seafood and we found it. Start with the Onion Straws or Crawfish tails. Both come with a great homemade Cajun dipping sauce. If your meal comes with a salad, make sure you get the house dressing. Amazing! Most of our group ate fried catfish and shrimp. Everyone loved it with the homemade tartar and cocktail. I got the Catfish Atchafalaya … Being from South Mississippi and eating Cajun food my entire life, this was the best I’ve ever had. I chose Blackened Catfish and it was perfect. All of us got the grilled potatoes as our side… You can’t miss ordering those. Overall, the experience was amazing with a great view of the lake.
