My sister and I scheduled neck and shoulder massages to relieve some of the knots I have in my neck and shoulders because of stress. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The location and atmosphere were great! The only problem is that I left with no relief in my neck or shoulders. The massage was relaxing, but most of the half hour was spent on my scalp and arms. I wanted the entire massage focused on my neck and shoulders. The«back» portion of the massage mostly consisted of the massage therapist using two fingers to apply pressure to different points on my back. It was not what I wanted, and I will now have to spend another $ 50 to get a massage that will actually relieve my neck and shoulder pain.

Rosa was really professional. Very gentle. She knew where the main points are when she did my neck, shoulder and facial massage! Michelle at front desk was very helpful in getting directions to the spa. Location has a really nice view of the harbor!

What a great place! I went to this spa for the ionized foot detox, jacuzzi tub experience and massage. I love that the atmosphere is so clean and relaxing. The foot detox was amazing and the woman that did the massage was very professional and good at her job. I have only had a massage once before at another place and it was kind of creepy.(I am a modest man) The lady at the front desk was as friendly as can be, and very accommodating to my needs. I would recommend this place to anyone, male or female. This has got to be the best at what they do in Hot Springs!

First of all the setting here is beautiful! I got my mother a full day spa package for Her birthday and she had the best time! Everything was so peaceful and relaxing. Her massage and facial were perfectly done she said. She got her hair colored and cut by Maryjane and it looked AMAZINGGGG! She also got her nails done(I got mine done too) and it’s such a cool place. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area!

I’m giving the hair salon 2 stars based on the first and last appointment I will have at Ablution. I went in and asked my stylist for the popular ombré color that is trending. The stylist admitted that she hadn’t done an ombré before but a fellow stylist informed her of a technique and said she could do it. My hair pulled the blonde a lot more than expected so she went back over with my natural color and a toner. She styled my hair curly and I went on my way. I waited until the next day to brush out the curls and really check out the end result. I could not pick my jaw off the floor. Straight line all across my head. The bottom half of my head was blonde, not a gradual blending as an ombré should be. I call and told the salon I was displeased with my result and they said I should come back the next day and they could fix it. She attempted to tone the colors down and make it more natural but by the time she was finished and I saw my hair in the mirror and practically ran for the door. There are still lines in my hair and it’s pulling a lot of green :(Thankfully, I was not charged for the touch up, which was a relief since I spent $ 150 for the first appointment(not including the recommended hair products I purchased and tip). I called a local friend and was given a recommendation for another salon and drove straight over. The other salon was amazed at how both appointments had done my hair. So I have yet a other appointment to fix this mess. Maybe I’m at fault for not doing more research and trusting to be someone’s guinea pig, but I feel a trending style should be a given… I did not try any of the spa treatments or nail services. Hopefully others will have more luck.

I had a wonderful facial at this Spa before I began working here. I might be biased but it’s an amazing place and little hidden gem in Hot Springs. When you walk in you feel like you’re in another world! The services are great and the NEW owners as off July 2013 are wonderful and really care about their staff and clients. They have done many updates on the spa and continue to do so! Come check it out and have a great relaxing time :) and check out the Hair Salon where I am!

I visited Ablution with my boyfriend’s mom on the 4th of July to receive express facials and pedicures. They were taking appointments only for the day rather than being open normal business hours. The receptionist, Courtney, was very friendly and courteous. I wish I could say the same for the two estheticians who provided services to us. My service provider started complaining almost immediately. Her daughter was waiting outside for her to wrap up since we were«the only appointments they had today.» My express facial lasted just 20 minutes and included an exfoliation, masque, and serum application. She did not explain any of the products she was applying nor make recommendations for my skin. What really bothered me is that she just sat there while the exfoliant cream and masque were working, respectively. For $ 50, I am used to receiving a shoulder, hand, or foot rub while the products are doing their magic. This was my boyfriend’s mother’s first facial, and I have to say I was embarrassed that this was the«treat» I was giving her. She was moderately more impressed with her service provider, who provided a 25-minute facial and included a lip scrub. We were given express pedicures($ 35) without double-checking if that’s what we wanted. The view and massage chairs are quite nice in the pedicure room on the 3rd floor. However, if you have mobility issues, do not get your nails done here. The 3rd floor is only accessible via a very narrow circular staircase. The complaining during the quick and dirty pedicures(cuticle work, lotion rub, and polish change) was non-stop. First, they were complaining about working on the holiday and that they almost hadn’t answered the phone to come in. Then, they complained about their work schedules and finally about cosmetology school. It turned what could’ve been a fun bonding experience for me and my boyfriend’s mom into an exhausting(though short) experience to be overcome. Spending $ 170 total(before tip) for 2 express pedicures and 2 express facials with this kind of service was really awful. I will not be returning, and I won’t be buying gift certificates for my boyfriend’s family, who is local.

I got the No More Knots massage for 80 minutes. I added the hot stones as a special treat. Tequila was my massage therapist and she was just okay. I did tell her that I wanted deeper pressure when she asked and did ask her to go deeper. Her pressure was just average. I don’t feel like she used the stones appropriately, she used super light pressure with them. It was just okay. If I went back I would probably ask for someone else. Couldn’t ask for a better setting. It’s just gorgeous.

If you’re looking for a great day spa in Hot Springs, Arkansas I recommend Ablution Day Spa! What a great place right on lake Hamilton with water views. Couples getaways are fantastic when you include Ablutions relaxing environment and profession atmosphere. Call them to ask for specials that they are running or go to the website and look at the packages . My wife and I really enjoy being in Hot Springs and we often go to the day spa when we visit.

After reading online reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect. Fortunately, the overall experience was good. My wife and I scheduled an evening over memorial day weekend. The biggest complaint I have with this spa, is the waiting room is right outside the downstairs room where we got our massage. You could very easily hear people talking during the massage. If complete silence is an important thing for you, you may not like the experience at the spa. It was not a total dealbreaker for us. We purchased the dinner package as well as the one-hour massage. The dinner was located in a semi private area overlooking the lake. The food was good. You made your selection upon arrival at the spa while you were filling out your paperwork. The people were courteous and kind. The price was a little high in my opinion. Overall, the experience was satisfactory. I would not be afraid to recommend them to others.

I have to admit, when my husband and I pulled up to the spa I was wondering what the heck did we get ourselves into? Well, much to our surprise, we had a wonderful experience! We first experienced the front desk person, Abby who was very friendly and took us on a tour of the Spa. The space was well decorated and very quiet. We were offered wine while we sat in a lake front room waiting for our services to begin. The massage therapists were running about 20 minutes behind but we were so relaxed and took advantage of 2 glasses of wine while we waited so the time did not matter. We had a 20 minute jacuzzi bath, an 80 min. Couples massage and dinner. The bath was a bit hot but just needed to be cooled off with some cold water, the massage by Gordon and Leah were great! Abby then served us a very good dinner compliments of Does Restaurant. I have to say, being a licensed massage therapist who has also worked several years in an upper scale spa in St. Louis, MO, I felt the staff was very professional and friendly and handled our special day very professionally. We would return to Ablution Spa despite the poor reviews it has. Take a chance! It’s worth it!

Visited this establishment about a year ago during a girls weekend with several friends. It’s a long story, and one that still leaves me baffled a year later, but what it amounts to is that the manager was… insane? Her behavior was so rude/baffling the manicurist actually apologized(profusely) for her crazy behavior after I walked out the door after paying for services I never received – I paid $ 50 for(literally) nothing just to save my friends card from being charged. My friends were already receiving their $ 50 pedicures when the issue arose, so I waited outside. They were unhappy with the quality of their service and the paint on their nails looked sloppy! Go anywhere else. Almost nowhere else will charge you this much for this little, but I’d pay twice as for decent service.
