The food is great but the chef is truly a moron. Each day at a resort like this — this resturaunt is flooded with folks for breakfast buffet. The chef decides, that it’s a good idea to force each guest to have the worst experience plating one’s food. When I brought it to the manager’s attention, she somewhat defended the decision and only until I literally walked her over to witness the debacle did she realize how miserable her guests were. True Sh*tShow of an operation. A pathetic abomination. Puzzling how the food can be so good yet the operation run by such a thinkless monkey.

If you want a little pool side grille well this is it. The food is fair… and the service is ok. Great iced tea! We had a pulled pork sandwich which looked the best on the table. Then a Cobb salad and the chicken in the salad was pressed chicken! The roasted corn was great! Also the table had a burger with homemade chips and the chips were good! Then the venison. Chili they added beans to it so it was ruined!

Poor poor service!!! Not enough servers. Close this place down! Burnt food. Bad attitude. We ordered simple food. It took forever to come out. The kids ordered gorillas cheese. It came out burnt. The server was frustrated running around trying to cover the tables. Completely understaffed. We are members. We loved coming here … Just like everything else, since the club took over they have ruined it!

All of our food was outstanding. I don’t remember what kind of beef my filet was but it melted in my mouth. There were 6 in our party and we all loved our food. The salmon was excellent. The service was a little lacking but it was a busy night. We will be back!

Awesome service and incredible drinks. The staff is so personable! On a 3 day conference — the staff and the grounds made the trip.

We dined here on two separate occasions during our stay at the resort. Sunday Night: They had a fajita buffet for $ 20, not bad for all you can eat salad, soup, fajitas, and dessert. Service was great, food wasn’t extraordinary. Monday Night: We came for dessert and it was great!!! Our server was great and was able to answer questions and was very personable. This restaurant is best for convenience, over priced but decent food.

We’ve been to this restaurant 3 separate trips over 3 separate years and this is what it’s been like ever time: Staff: a bunch of kids from Marble Falls. The food: Breakfast isn’t that good. Large-ish buffet, but bacon is dried out, the smoked salmon was nasty(slimy and I think old as hell), etc. We ordered a $ 36 Cowboy steak and a) that cut of meat was NOT a $ 36 cut if you know what I mean b) our medium rare was cold in the middle and salty to begin with. We sent it back and this time they over cooked it(it was the same piece not a new one) and someone seasoned it again. It was so salty it was inedible. The drinks: Takes FOREVER and it wasn’t busy.

Two days in a row quite possibly the worst and slowest service I have ever had. Expensive prices for mediocre food IFYOUCANEVERGETINANDWAITEDON.

Only dine here for breakfast. Lantana Grill is the restaurant inside the Horseshoe Bay Resort. We ate dinner here for convenience. I should have read the reviews before we made the trip. Great breakfast! Awful dinner! The ribs were tender but fatty. The shrimp pasta was bland. Salt and pepper didn’t help. Giving it 3 stars for fantastic omelet bar and a hard working staff.

The only reason to spend money here is if you don’t have a car to go elsewhere. Bartender wasn’t interested in providing service, order bottle of wine, we finished it there but poured it glass by glass ourselves other than the 1st glass. Order a pear and arugula salad and goat cheese on the side, came with spring greens, no pears, no cheese on the side. Was told it was the right salad. Then the salad left and came back with pears. Guests next to us ask had issues getting what they ordered. Ok to substitute BUT ask first and don’t argue that it is wha it is NOT. While there had the displeasure of the bartender making a spit cup for another bar guest. Really? SERIOUSLYREALLY? I’m not in a shithole dive. It is holiday week and they were out of too much, especially if you were here for their pricey NYE package. Order a pizza or better yet, stay elsewhere and dine elsewhere. And to the reviewer who said they had a Starbucks, no they serve Starbucks but made with terrible water and you serve yourself. Only stay/dine if being held hostage or staying free but ONLY if you are ok with subpar or below average services.

Don’t waste your time or money. Food is okay– not bad — but not outstanding. The Marriott no longer runs this hotel. Service was über slow. Both in taking orders and getting food to the table. We were a table of 6 and the food was brought put in 2 shifts. Several of us ordered pancakes Nx we had to ask for butter– which was hard and cold when it came out. It was not crowded and I saw at least 4 waitstaff. I am concerned that quality will not be the same since the Resort took over. Prices are fairly high. $ 4 for coffee. The same for a croissant. I expect this in Hawaii, but not in Horseshoe Bay.

We spent 4 days in this resort so we ended up here a few times. This place can be hit or miss on the menu items especially off the restaurant menu. The bar menu is much better. Ask for both because they have totally different items. Highlights: Beer Mac & Cheese with Green chilies… Soooooo GOOD!!! Mini Hot Dogs with Beer Cheese… OMG!!! Onion Rings… Perfection! Kids meals. Pizza, burgers, chicken tenders Bacon Cheese Burger Fish and Chips Bacon Salad Misses: All the fancy meals off the restaurant menu. Small portions and not really mentionable. Tiny chicken dinner for $ 34. No thanks. Thin crust pizza– BBQ also the pepperoni both were kinda soggy but tasted ok. My kids LOVED the kids version but weren’t a fan off the adult menu. Quesadillas were hard and too much cheese. They were ok for the first 2 bites. But once the cheese cooled it was hard and unappetizing. Charcuterie was ok but I had much better. The pickled veggies were good.

Queso is fantastic and doesnt get clumpy and hard as it cools. Chips were a tad salty but just knock some salt off. The homemade potato chips were a very nice taste and touch to go along with the turkey club sandwich. The bread on the sandwich was great. The hamburger was cooked to perfection and they even give you a choice on how you want it cooked. I chose medium. The bun was sweet and fresh. The guacamole was on point. It had just enough salt to make it flavorful and they add corn to it to give it a little sweet pop. The tea is flavorful and not watered down. The Jack and Coke was stout. The total bill was $ 47 plus tip for the above listed items. Enjoy.

Unfortunately, this was the only dinner option available on a Monday night. Not only was the service awful, the food was over priced and bad. Once the waitress finally arrived, she informed us that ¼th of the menu was not available. We decided to order two appetizers and a soup and salad… Which came 25 minutes later. The quail was burnt and my wife’s soup was basically a combination of hot sauce and guacamole(who puts guacamole in soup? Topping with avocado maybe, but guacamole doesn’t go IN soup). The BBQ shrimp should have been called salted shrimp. They actually tasted like BBQ lays potato chips. When the waitress brought us the check and asked us how our meal was, we both simply replied, «not really that good» with my wife adding that«the wine was the best part of the meal.» This did not seem to even phase the waitress who promptly said thank you and took our credit card with no hesitation or remorse for the awful dining experience that we had just been through. Overall, I would not recommend eating here. The rest of the resort is top notch as well as the rest of the staff. The service at this particular restaurant is not good and the food is terrible(or at least what is available of the tiny menu) for the price they are charging you. We should have gone to Chili’s which was about 15 minutes away. We are really disappointed that we are going to leave with a bad taste in our mouth(quite literally if it were not for the Jim Beam and the wine) after such an amazing couple of days here.

Not impressed at all… It’s so unfortunate that a place as beautiful as this falls short. I tried to make a reservation over the phone for the restaurant and it took 15 min, 3 calls, and follow the prompts for a voice mail. Blah. The phone etiquette is to be desired. The«valet» said it was«more better» to park your car with him. We self-parked… We greeted the front desk, room was clean, & view of the pool was decent. For $ 209 plus«resort fee», totally not worth it. The lantana grill… sat outside because it was gorgeous weather… A bachelor party of loud foul-mouthed jerks were ruining the otherwise comfortable relaxing atmosphere. I ordered the grilled radicchio Caesar salad. Salad came with no radicchio. When I questioned the waitress about the radicchio, she brought me some on the side and said that they were out of the grilled radicchio… Oh Jeeeeezzzz…

Go for the brunches and the bar. That’s where Lantana shines. Depending on the time of day and what else is going on, you may find Lantana woefully understaffed both in front of house and back. The menu is pretty faux haute, so be prepared. The basics(especially stuff kids will go for) just isn’t here. I must say that the breakfast buffet and sunday brunch are some of the best in the area. While not exactly expansive, they are high quality for this kind of thing. Amazing breads and made to order omelettes are the highlight.

The selling point for Lantana is that it’s located in the main building of the resort. This restaurant is disappointing from service to the food. They have a nice patio and bar but unfortunately the food falls flat. The soups were not good, the chicken tortilla soup came prepared what looked and tasted to be a bowl of diced tomatoes in water and chicken tossed in. It was not soup. The sides with the steaks were lukewarm and vegetables undercooked. The only saving grace were steaks– that’s it. Having all else fail miserably, I am even surprised that their steaks were well seasoned, tender, and prepared to our liking. I will give credit for that and therefore the two stars. I would skip this restaurant entirely if I were to stay again at Horseshoe Bay resort.

Location location location! That’s the greatest thing about this place. Second is the service. They have always been attentive to us and were great last night celebrating a birthday. The food, though, that’s another story. Mediocre at best, but sub par mostly. You get to walk here from your room, drink as much as you want and walk home. That should be your plan and skip the meal portion.

Just okay… nice cozy restaurant in the hotel… but overpriced food and not a large menu selection. Our server was very nice… we got the suggested bbq buffet… didn’t care for it and at $ 22 a person that is some expensive bbq with dry bread, potato salad, beans, soggy corn and coleslaw… The highlight of the entire meal were the corn muffins they serve complementary. I would only eat here as we did… out of pure convenience.
